I will not be going to DC for the DDA meet. I just used my free ticket to get my mom a ticket to fly back here next Sunday for Rees' surgery. She will be staying 3 days with us to help out. Sorry I'll miss the fun, but I'm glad I hadn't booked it yet and could get it for her.

Here is a photo that I took before the concert. The cafegymtorium as dh calls it has really poor lighting to photos don't come out in there :guilty: I did take a video, but haven't had a chance to look at it yet. You can tell from the picture that Nick was not keen on having mom take photos while his friends were standing there watching him :rotfl: Such is Life.

I have to be up early tomorrow so I'm off like a prom dress :rotfl:

Deb

Deb, they are handsome little men..love the crocs!!!
My oldest is like that too..she won't acknowledge her brother & sister in front of her friends!

Like your prom dress analogy!!! :rotfl2:

That will be great to have your mom there for you all then. I am glad that things worked out for the best. enjoy your time with them this weekend.

I understand, Denise. Hopefully there will be more chances for you to get together with some of us. In the grand scheme of things, it is much more important to have your mom around during this difficult time to help out, other than come here. :goodvibes :wizard:

Tammi's last post gave me the idea of a "Pamper Party" each guest could bring either a package of Pampers or an item to Pamper the Mom.

Deb

yea, what she said...

That's a really great idea Deb!!! I love the idea of a "pamper" party!

I got the kids to school with their big project and spent about an hour checking out the different science fair projects. I was impressed that the only duplicate projects were the erupting volcano and the mouse maze all the others were unique.

Deb

That's so true! There were 3 volcanoes at my kids science fair this past w/e. Also 4 projects on water pollution.

I'm sorry that you will miss the meet but very glad that your mom can come to help out while Rees is having surgery.

Did we get new smilies???

I wish! I had been looking at a forum my sister belongs to the other day with her, and they had this one... i thought it was too cute (and appropriate for me right now ;) ), so I went looking for it on ours. I SWORE I saw it before.... but it was the wrong boards! So I searched for it. You know, nothing better to do with my time.... :rolleyes1

I am glad she is able to come in and help out a bit! :grouphug:

Thanks for all the nice comments about my "trophy chicks". Recital is alot of fun & I cry when I see them dance but I am sooooo glad its over!(until Sept) My oldest wants to join the dance company. They dance all summer as well as the school year so I would not be looking forward to that & I would have to run her all over the state for competions.
On the bright side they do go to Disney in July & dance at MGM!!!!

Just got home from the beach. Had to get my summer beach pass. It was so foggy & cold down there but I love just being near the water. Sunday they will be having an air show. The Blue Angels will be over the beach doing stunts & such. They have a WWI biplane & some WWII fighters as well.
Should be fun. My uncle (who raised me) was a waistgunner on a B24 during WWII so this stuff is close to my heart.

Don't forget to keep all our veteran's & servicemen/servicewomen in your thoughts this weekend.

Deb, the pic of your boys is so cute. Do they always coordinate their legs (had one leg up)? The concert sounded really fun.

I hadn't realized that they did that. It was purely a coincidence. I actually had to go back and look at the photo. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Deb

This is a quick hi and bye for everyone...hope you have a great weekend!

Just found out we have a showing tomorrow :cheer2: but that means the cat will be on the loose! :rolleyes1

I'll try to check in at my mom's house, but no promises...

Here's a big :grouphug: for you all and a little :wizard: dusting to keep everyone smiling too!

Amy :)

That's good to hear! I didn't prepare for our practice exam (HESI) and I got a 94% probability of passing. Not a 94% correct, but it's supposed to accurately predict NCLEX success. I don't buy it though, especially since I have been out of school so long! :rotfl:

There are a few differences now that won't work with letter c, but I have used that trick in the past! There are several questions now of "alterntive format", where there are multiple correct answers ("select all that apply"), identifiying spots on a picture, free answer, etc. Those, surprisingly, aren't the ones I'm worried about :confused3

I think it'll be fine. More than anything, I just thought I'd have more time to mentally/emotionally prepare for the idea of TAKING the test. I don't think content is going to be my biggest issue, I think it will be confidence/sanity! :teeth:

Jennifer I know that you will do great. I hear you reacting to this test as you have to every other unknown moment that you've been through since joining the DDA. This is how you deal with things and it works for you. So keep studying, keep stressing and keep up posted. You will do fine. I just know it.

I saw one on water pollution at our school too.

Anne Marie,

Your girls look adorable in their recital costumes. Brantley-Kate has her recital next Saturday.

BTW, everyone see my new signature? Can you tell I'm ready for summer and that my mood has lightened considerably?

My parents should be here in about 15 minutes, and then I really won't be around much. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend. Be safe, and I'll see y'all on Tuesday!

Debbie, Glad to hear you are feeling better and that the party planning is coming along. :wizard: that your job gives you some relief.

Lynn, Yay for Alex’s last game! Have fun this weekend.

Deb, The boys’ concert sounded like a lot of fun.

Tammi, 40th party for parents for Shane

Denise, I am so happy that you now know what you are dealing with in regards to Rees. Hopefully he will bounce back from this surgery quickly.

Anne Marie, Your girls are beautiful!

Paula, Wow!! You and Mark look great!

Amy, More :wizard: that the house sells fast.

Kate, Take care of yourself. You have a lot going on so take some time for yourself. And try not to worry too much.

Christy, Southwest is booking through Oct 27th.

Janet, What a nice thing to do for your son and his friend.

Theresa and Vicki, :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Dawn, Sorry to hear about the glucose test. Sounds like you have what you need to do under control. Take care of yourself and the baby!

Glynis, June, Beth and Julia I know I missed you all but Have fun this weekend.

I am all caught up now.

I went to Emma’s Parent Teacher conference yesterday. I am so proud of her; she is right where she needs to be if not ahead of the game. We are to keep a summer journal to give her chances to write. Pal Mickey will make that fun for her. Her teacher told me that Emma is the only child in the class that she will play a board game with as Emma is the only one who knows that games have rules and that you have to follow them. The best thing I heard was that is able now to solve problems with her classmates by herself. In the beginning of the year she would get easily upset and run to the teacher crying when she had a problem with a friend. Now she is telling them that “I don’t like it when you do that, it makes me upset and please stop” That is a big accomplishment for her!

After the conference Molly and I went to my Parents for dinner. We took Molly to the park and she had her first snowball. Tonight I am going out to dinner with Eric's grandmother, Baba. My FIL flew to Boston this morning as he was able to get out of work today. My MIL works tonight so I think Baba feels sorry for me. I hate cooking and usually Eric does most of it. I will take anyone's pity if it means I don't have to cook.

Denise - sounds like the perfect use for that free ticket. We will miss you in July, but you need your Mom next week!

Kristin asked me to let you all know that she is around & well. I sent her a pm so that we can make sure we make plans for our DDA meet in December while we are both at WDW. We are looking for a third person so that we can meet Paula's requirements for getting a pillow. Otherwise, I'll have to make sure Chuck gets a screen name and posts regularly (I'll have to find out how long that means from Paula :rotfl:). Anyone else there on 12/2 & 12/3? That is when Kristin & I overlap.

Here's the pm from her so you know what she is up to.

Things are busy here- I am a couple days away from my ADR window so I am doing a lot of research on that. Kyle's bday is June 10 so I am working like mad on all the party stuff. We are also working on a BIG project on the exterior of our house so I haven't much time for chatting these days. But I'll be back!!

You could say I feel slightly overwhelmed right now!!! I think if I could really figure out what is going on with Nick things wouldn't seem so bad to me - I just feel like something is off with him - he doesn't complain about his head but he seems more lethargic and crabby to me - I tried to schedule his EKG but the doctor forgot to call in the orders and I keep missing her - and now whenever Nick gets in trouble he looks at me and says "me sick" - so I know he has learned the sympathy I give him with those two little words and now I can't tell when he means it and when he just wants my attention - and on top of everything he has turned into a serious Mama's boy and ONLY wants me all of the time!

Steve has a small procedure tomorrow and is under a HUGE amount of pressure at work which of course is spilling into our home - and is not something that he can just leave at the office

and I find out Wednesday if I need surgery -

I have a lot of unknowns in my life - I can deal with things when I know what is going on - it is when I feel helpless that I get upset!

So as for this situation - I emailed her about how things work and told her that until I get a registration form - these people aren't registered in the program and I will not place them until then - which might mean they won't get the slot she promised them b/c I am working on first come first served - I have to do this the way we always have b/c I know it works!! and that is how everyone else is expecting things to be done - and if the new director thinks the other way is better - then they can do it next year - odds are I won't be doing it anyway!

Kate - I'm so sorry that things with Nick are still so unsettled! It's so frustrating not to know what to do for your child. Hopefully, you and the doctor can stop playing phone tag and get the EKG scheduled. As for your surgery, well I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that you won't need it!

I so wish that I lived close enough to be of some help for you! It sounds as though "the sky is falling" at your house, these days! I hope you know that if you need prayers and pixie dust, you can count on them from me! Just let me know!

I think you are smart to put your foot down with VBS. It's not her place to waltz in and change the way things work. Not fair to those that have already done work, etc. Good for you for sticking to your guns!
