I'm still way behind, but I know there are a few sites that have some Disney puzzles already made.

www.themouseforless.com under "for your trip"

Also - Lou Mongello's (sp?) disney trivia site has them on there somewhere

If your not gone yet, have a long island iced tea for me. :teeth:

Apparently I'm having a P3. I have to work tonight and then a large group of us are going out to celebrate one of our friends turning 21. This is a really big deal for her. She has been a bartender for years and now she can legally drink. She actually went out last night (this morning) at Midnight and celebrated until 2 AM. Oh to be young again. Anyway Chris and I are actually going out too. I can't remember the last time I was in a bar other than the one I work at so this should prove interesting. My parents are watching Colby and Hunter and Nick is going to a friends for a birthday party sleepover. This is his first sleepover at a friend's house so I'll be armed with my cell phone just in case. Any whoo I'm sure I'll be home early (tomorrow morning that is :rotfl2: ) and I'm not sure what condition I'll be in when I get home so I won't talk to you all until sometime tomorrow. :drinking1 :headache:  :crazy2: :scared: :faint: :confused3 :goodvibes The smilies show my possible conditions :rotfl:

Have a quiet evening.

Deb

Ok I made the pancakes for dinner tonight and well they were like bricks. Please tell me what pancake recipe you used and exactly how full you fill the maker. I used the only pancake recipe I make which is the Bisquick one. Even though I thought they weren't edible my girls devoured them. Please share!

Winter flowers?! What the heck does that mean?! :rotfl:
They can't take the heat here so they show up in our nurseries around Halloween and you basically have to pull them out by April-May. They're the main flowers used here in winter.

Yes! That sounds like a marvelous idea! :thumbsup2

At least I'm sure to meet you! Some days that's the only thing that keeps me working toward the marathon; meeting my DDA family. I think Nancy has committed to come, too! Anyone else out there want to join us?

Good thing you made the decision before the pregnancy hormones. You can think and deal much better without a pregnancy brain. I'm sure everything will be fine next year. Colby will start preschool next year and I just found out that it will be the teacher's last year. She was really hoping that Colby and Logan would go next year as she has had all the other kids and was looking forward to the last 2. Since Colby will attend for 2 years he will have a new teacher his second year. He is so ready to go to school so I'm looking forward to him being able to go. I'll probably be sad next year, but a few hours to myself 3 days a week sounds pretty darn good right now

Deb
I was actually pregnant when we decided to make the switch. Having to pay the high tuition for a second child was, in the end, our deciding factor. I know everything will be OK, but I never imagined I could be as happy with a school as I was with his. It was just emotional when I picked him up, then came home to find a personal handwritten letter from the school telling us they would miss him and if things didn't work out he would be welcomed back.

I'm not sad about him being in school at all, just moving from one to the other. I like a little me time too.

Thank you all for the support. I feel better now.

Y'all are going to think I'm such a nut but I can't stop crying. Today was Christopher's last day of Pre-K, which is bad enough in itself, but it was also his last day at this school. We loved this school and were so happy when he was accepted but made the difficult decision to move him to another school that is competitive academically, is a K-12 school (current school only goes to 5th), and has MUCH cheaper tuition once he hits 6th grade. If we turned down the spot at the new school we wouldn't have a chance of ever being accepted again so we decided to move him and at least give it a try. I thought I was OK with our decision, but I've been so sad since I picked him up. I've been trying to hold it together in front of Christopher but I started tearing up when we went through the bag of summer materials she sent home for him. He hugged me and told me it's ok. Damn pregnancy hormones! My 5 year old is handling this better than me!

Thanks for listening.

I love it when Emma tries to make me feel better. In her eyes a hug will fix everything. I'm sure you made the right decision.

Glynis,

I agree with the taping of the children, (baby Cam)

I know this will sound harsh but when I was taking of my DH's cousin's child, she and my oldest son would really get roudy at times and I told them that if they could not keep quiet and watch the 'potty mouth', I was going to tape their mouths shut. Before I did this, I did discuss it with the mother. She was like whatever works. Had to do it only once for 15 minutes with masking tape and I was so upset but it worked and if I even went for the roll of tape after that, they would shut up immediately.
Your posessions are priceless to you and you have to do whatever it takes.

I've done that with these kids, only I use hot sauce on their tongues. It has to be REALLY hot, though, since their parents only use hot sauce for seasoning on eggs, etc.

It only took one drop of hot sauce on my kids tongues to get them to remember to speak civilly to me. Now, all I have to do is pull the bottle out of the fridge and they immediately apologize and adjust their speech.

Well, I survived the babysitting with no casualties to my belongings. We'll see what happens next time. I just want these kids to learn that no matter how they treat their own and their parents belongings, when they come to my house, they are under my rule and law!

Oh my goodness! The pancakes sounded pretty cool, but I think we'll have to try the turnovers ASAP!

They are yummy, and really fast, too! Two good things in a dessert, I say!

Duly noted! I won't tell anyone what you said about Minnie. If it was me, I'd want Mickey, too! Don't forget to PM me your address so I can get it to you!

Speaking of changing schools-

Has anyone ever done a party after 8th grade continuation? :confused3
My uncle (oops I forgot to invite him to the continuation :rolleyes2) asked if there was going to be a party.
First off I don't find that going from one school is another is that big of a deal so I didn't think to invite him(not very involved in the girls lives...more to do with my Grandma) but he will be coming because Grandma invited him  , But he asked if there was going to be a party, we may go out to dinner but a party? :confused3 I asked Cassidy and she said that's what Six Flags is for!! All of the 8th graders get to go to Six Flags for the official last day of school. But I am wondering if this is something I missed and am just clueless (I know I am clueless most of the time but how about for this?)

We don't have them around here until High School Graduation. Now when I left elementary school (6th grade) I went straight to a JR/SR high school. Talk about scary! Boy did we grow up fast with all we were exposed to!!

Glynis dear, you must stop watching thoes children.
Family or not I wouldn't do it, sorry.

I would love to stop, but DH says family is family. It's really odd, too; the other 4 children are really good, respectful kids who I enjoy spending time with. It's these youngest 2 who have been spoiled rotten that I can't stand. Hopefully they'll grow out of it!

I use the Bisquick recipe for the most part. How long did you cook them? I do mine for 3 and a half to 4 minutes. I fill the triangles in the maker with about 1/8 Cup of batter.

Try this pancake recipe next time. Maybe you'll have better luck. (You might also need to play around with the time)

Sunshine Pancakes

1 egg, slightly beaten
1/3 C. powdered sugar
1/4 C. melted butter
1 C. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 C. milk
1/8 tsp. salt

Mix egg and powdered sugar. Then add the rest of the ingredients and mix until smooth.

I'm sorry that yours didn't turn out well. I've been doing it for over a year now, but I do remember having to play around with the mixture and time for a while before I settled on what works for me.

Our church is having a dinner/dance tomorrow night which I've been looking forward to for quite a while. However, I just got a phone call telling me that Alan volunteered me to make desserts for the party! I don't mind doing it, honest I don't! However, I would have liked to know about it before now! I've already done the shopping for the week, and now I'm going to have to go out again. I hate doing that as I'm prone to pick up things I don't need on trips like this. Oh well. I've been in the mood to do some baking, so I'm just going to do it and not let hubby know how exasperated I am.

I've decided just to make a few pans of bar cookies and brownies and call it good. There are supposed to be about 1000 people at the function, so I wanted to make things that can be cut into smaller portions to feed more people. Last year, they had 8 people make dessert and ended up with 8 cakes from the local bakery. They ran out after about 100 people. I hope that doesn't happen, this year. It got pretty ugly! Not that I can eat the desserts, but I hate for people to be disappointed!

Can you bake some for me? I have to make a Blueberry coffee cake, a key lime cheesecake and some other things tonight for my open house tomorrow and I have absolutely no motivation. Not too mention all the paperwork I have to do! Can you tell I am avoiding it?

If I could, I absolutely would. I LOVE to bake! Probably one of the reasons I had a weight problem. Now I don't bake as much as I used to. I do make a nice dessert for Sunday, though, so baking for tomorrow is a treat! I would love your recipe for blueberry coffee cake.

I'm making individual Oreo cheesecakes, cherry truffle bars, and moonbeam cookies. I've never tried the cookies before, so I hope they're good. I'll let you know!

Thanks for the tips! May I ask how many you got from one batch of batter. I know I used way to much batter but they weren't "puffing up"

I sell Tastefully Simple so the blueberry coffee cake is using one of their products. It will literally take me about 10 minutes from start to finish, not including the baking. Same thing with the Key lime cheesecake.

But I do have a Blueberry coffee cake and blueberry pound cake recipes that are in my opinion worth every ounce of effort. I will dig those out and pm them to you. But it probably won't be until Sunday.

I love mini cheesecakes and how can you go wrong with an Oreo version. What is in the moonbeam cookies? They sound intriguing (sp?)
