Life around here pretty much sucks today. The weather is crappy and it is predicted to rain right through the weekend. Each time I look at a report it looks worse

I have packed our rain coats, but I'm beginning to think that boots might be in order too.
I called our Vet this morning he couldn't get Tiffany in until Monday unless I was willing to schedule an emergency visit (complete with the emergency price). Since I had no idea what we were dealing with I decided to find a different Vet. I ended up finding one that could see her 45 minutes later and it was just a regular visit charge (*** ? This Vet has never even seen us?) So we went and the Vet was absolutely wonderful. She spent 45 minutes checking her out and ran a few tests. She has a urinary tract infection and she suspects that she is suffering from an Immuno Deficiancy disease. She is now on Pretisone and an antibiotic. We could have a biopsy done for $400 or treat her this way. The thought is that the problems will clear up then reappear periodically for the rest of her life requiring repeat treatments. She said that it is like Lupus in humans. The biopsy would probably just confirm the diagnosis which would end up with the same treatment. Elin posted how her dog is pretisone and has to go potty NOW. I have been warned that Tiffany will have this issue while on the meds and to expect some accidents

I guess it might be a good thing that we are camping this weekend as she will be outside a lot.

To all the kiddos taking swiming lessons. I have taught lessons in the past I cannot stress how important it is for kids to learn how to swim and to do it young. Water is all around us and keeping our kids safe is so important. I love to hear how the kids are meeting these new challenges. As an added benefit swimming is such good exercise. Kudos to all the kids and parents out there.

I'm green with envy over all these upcoming trips. They sound marvelous.

and

to all those out there that need a little today.
