she came back - she forgot she ordered a disney shopping card and that is what it was!! :lmao:

she had no idea the thread had grown so much!! despite the fact that a ton of people had pmed her!! I guess some people don't read their pms!!

The Peds Surgeon called tonight. He thinks that the Diverticula (area in the Esophagus that has pouched outward) may be the culprit as it can cause the symptoms Rees is having. The GI doc found it during the Endoscopy, but blew it off. I looked up Distal Esophageal Diverticula and it sounds just like Rees. The Surgeon also thinks it might be a hernia (para-esophageal hernia). So, he's calling tomorrow am to schedule some more tests. He too was worried about the weight loss and not eating and said he didn't want to have to put a feeding tube in. So Rees will have to go through more yucky tests. If it is the Diverticula, Rees will need Esophageal surgery to correct it. He said if it is the Fundo, he has a 90% success rate of repeating the surgery laparoscopically (vs open). That was good news.

I'm glad I got a 2nd opinion. And our GI doc sure won't want to see me and John if the Surgeon is right...

I had decided to finish up. That poor woman!! So many rude responses. I thought she handled it wonderfully.

Sounds like the right place to go for a second opinion. Heck has no fury as a mama protecting her babies!!

Hope you don't have an ulcer. :wizard:

Yeah to Nicholas for being such a speedy runner!! That sounds like fun.
We have a race around here that benefits our school district. Thankfully I never can remember when it is until it's too late. :teeth:

She did - I think most people were just having fun with it - but some people really did get :furious: - it was too funny - who has time to get that mad over someone not posting an update!?!?

We had a fun day of Girl Scouts and Girl Scouts. Abi finished up her work for the God & Family (?) award today and then we went to the end of the year awards ceremony. There at the ceremony the two tiniest GS's put on their shirts and both said "this shirt makes me look fat." :guilty: These are at the oldest 4th graders. So guess who is going to have a sleep over/body image night at her house? I just have to do it before we do "bunk with the beasts" (Girl Scout night at the Denver Zoo). Yikes body image problems start younger and younger.

Espescially an update on something so trivial as an envelope. :confused3

Denise I hope Rees gets a resolve to this soon.
poor guy has been through so much.
:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Kate how is Nick doing?
Has his headaches gone.
I was remembering Ramiro @ that age.
Lots of problems with cutting teeth.
Has your Dr. maybe looked into this?
I hope he gets better soon.
:grouphug: :grouphug:

Well night all.
Tomorrow is Monday & I'm off Tuesday.
So I need my sleep.
Take care.
Later.

Just wanted to say I'm sorry I haven't been following along too closely past few days. You know y'all are all in my prayers for good news, celebrations, sad times, bad times, and everything in between. Thanks for keeping Rees (and us all) in your prayers. BTW, I think it's an ulcer or Irritable Bowel syndrome. It flares when I'm stressed. I'll just eat Rees' bland diet and be fine!

Thanks for asking - I can't decide

he seems better but yesterday he told me
"I'm sick - need medicine" - that worries me b/c he hates medicine so much = I have stopped giving him tylenol unless he specifically complains - I don't want to mask symptoms and I really don't want him to be on it as long as he has - he seemed much better today - so hopefully he is getting better - it is really frustrating not to understand what is bothering him though - but at least I know it is nothing serious!! (well - migraines would suck but are not tragic!!)

Steve and I really enjoyed our weekend with him and Julia - we had such a LONG week and were both so stressed - Steve even had to work yesterday b/c he had missed so much work this week - we are blessed that his boss is like family to us and very understanding - he won't even have to use any vacation or sick time for it

so last night and today we concentrated on having fun family time! It is weeks like this that really remind you what is important in life and I tell you - there is nothing more important to me than those two little faces!! Nick is being very clingy and I LOVE it!!!! He usually isn't a mamma's boy - so I am savoring it while it lasts!!!!

Have a great week!!!

Clare

Julia and I were watching a movie and I said - is that the mom from parent trap - (we were wrong it wasn't) but Julia says

"I think it is but she talks different in Parent Trap - she talks in between" (she has a British accent)

I asked her what in between meant - and she said "well she doesn't talk English and she doesn't talk french - she talks in between them" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Well in that case I like my in between accent :thumbsup2

 for Nicholas! A mile in 9 minutes?? Blimey - I don't think I could do that :thumbsup2

Hi everyone.

Jennifer - I'm so sorry about your arm. I hope it isn't too painful. Congratulations again, btw.

Denise - unfortunately there is nothing I can do or say to make life easier for you, so :grouphug:

I hope everyone is having a good day. This morning in downtown Fredericksburg we have what is called The Great Train Race. I guess it is because it starts at the train station, and it is a one mile run, sponsored by a local running club, for kids. Each age/sex has a different heat. Nicholas ran at 11:15 against all the other 6yo males. There must have been, and I'm guessing, 75 or so kids in his bracket. I found out today that this kid of mine can run. Not only did he finish the mile run but he did it in 9 minutes. I think he came in around 20th, give or take. He even surprised himself. We drove the route last night and he saw how long it was. At the end of the race there are all sorts of refreshment stands and bands playing/dancing. It was a fun morning. Then we went to the nursery and I got a bunch of hanging baskets for our front and back porches. Now our house has some color! :teeth:

Ok, so we DID go to the Cheesecake Factory, but I think I still might need to go again sometime, as it didn't turn out quite as planned ;)

The whole in-laws thing is a really long story, but let's just say that between them (and really Kyle), the day started out pretty crappy. 20 minutes before we were supposed to leave for Oxford, I was in tears and nowhere near being ready. I REALLY considered not going, but thought that might have been a bit impulsive. We did almost skip the CF though, so Kate - you weren't too far off. Instead, we went, everyone was there (except my dad who couldn't make it :guilty: ), and I pretended not to be grumpy.

It wasn't so much that anyone did anything out of the ordinary, I just too often cave to pressure frmo certain pushy people. And it drives me nuts, and SOME days out of the year (my wedding, and maybe even graduation to name a couple) you shouldn't push me. It's just not nice :p

I'll post pictures later. Overall, I'm glad I went. The whole "family interaction" part of it was wasted, so I'm still a bit disappointed by that... but the ceremony was nice, the weather was gorgeous, and the food wasn't too bad either :)

Side note though, that made the day oh-so-much better {sarcasm alert}

Denise -- I must have been either having sympathy lapses in judgment ;) (love you :teeth: ) or someone took my brain, too!

I was getting ready frantically, since we were already running late. I set my curling iron on this ledge in the bathroom, and it started to fall. Well, I reacted quickly but kept my head on straight enough to remember it was hot, so I ended up awkwardly trying to catch it, and banging my elbow on this corner nearby. It hurt like heck, but I assumed it was a funny bone type thing, that it would quickly subside.

11 hours later, it's diagnosed as what is probably a radial head fracture (elbow/arm), and now my right arm is in a sling! :rotfl:

It wasn't bad enough to displace bones or anything (Type I - just a 'hairline' type fracture in the bone), so the sling should only be a few days and the pain a few days longer.... but how stupid an injury to try an explain!
:grouphug: Sorry that your day didn't go as planned. In-laws can be such a pain. :wizard: Hope your arm feels better and heals quick. You definitely need a DDA Cheesecake factory outing. :goodvibes

That is funny cause we were just at Home Deopt and some guy asked us if we had a French accent, ours is more British as SA was a English colony :teeth:

Now I'm thinking about it... what do y'all think a french accent sounds like as I don't sound anything like a french person... that's why I struggled in my french speaking classes at school :rotfl2:

That's just too funny! :rotfl2: Even when the girl posted what it was they still went on :rotfl2:

I did notice one thing though - I read most of the posts as if they were written with a hint of sarcasm - and then the OP said she felt like she was being yelled at... is funny how you can take things totally the wrong way and people don't think before they type!
