Hi, all. Drive by posting. I'll try to catch up later. Rees refluxed at dinner last night and isn't eating much. I think I've given myself an ulcer (literally). My stomach hurts all the time and having quite the upset tummy. But somehow I'm still hungry and wanting to eat! Go figure. Anyway, I'll be back later.
:wizard: :grouphug: I hope that other Dr. has some suggestions that will put you more at ease.

Hi everyone.

Jennifer - I'm so sorry about your arm. I hope it isn't too painful. Congratulations again, btw.

Denise - unfortunately there is nothing I can do or say to make life easier for you, so :grouphug:

I hope everyone is having a good day. This morning in downtown Fredericksburg we have what is called The Great Train Race. I guess it is because it starts at the train station, and it is a one mile run, sponsored by a local running club, for kids. Each age/sex has a different heat. Nicholas ran at 11:15 against all the other 6yo males. There must have been, and I'm guessing, 75 or so kids in his bracket. I found out today that this kid of mine can run. Not only did he finish the mile run but he did it in 9 minutes. I think he came in around 20th, give or take. He even surprised himself. We drove the route last night and he saw how long it was. At the end of the race there are all sorts of refreshment stands and bands playing/dancing. It was a fun morning. Then we went to the nursery and I got a bunch of hanging baskets for our front and back porches. Now our house has some color! :teeth:
Hurray for Nicholas.

We were in #4 too. LOVED the location. Top floor near the food court. I think I'll try for first floor in August with the kids though. We were always up & out too early to meet the mousekeepers but they did a great job.

Sorry I disappeared yesterday. Emma woke up late and wanted Cheetos for breakfast. When I said no she cried a bit on the family room floor and fell asleep for hours. Then she woke up vomiting. I was getting really worried about her when she had a dry diaper from Friday night until about 8:30 last night. She was still vomiting this morning but has since eaten dry cheerios, saltines and a rice cake. She won't touch either of the 2 pedialites I offered her but she's kept the water down for most of the day and has had several more wet diapers. She's finally up and playing now.
I hope Emma is all better now. And is back to normal tommorrow :wizard:

We are big Bocce ball players here! We have 2 sets; a plastic set that we use when the kids want to play, and Alan picked up a set when he was in England 4 years ago that is made of steel. Very heavy and beautifully made!

We don't have a bocce court, we just use our yard, or the common area behind our house if the neighbors want to play. DH would literally play all day long if he could. Several of our neighbors feel the same way, so he's always got playmates!

Just had to look that one up! We just call it boules... or petanque if all the balls are silver...

Just wanted to say I'm sorry I haven't been following along too closely past few days. You know y'all are all in my prayers for good news, celebrations, sad times, bad times, and everything in between. Thanks for keeping Rees (and us all) in your prayers. BTW, I think it's an ulcer or Irritable Bowel syndrome. It flares when I'm stressed. I'll just eat Rees' bland diet and be fine!

:wave2: Denise

Glad you got some more news on Rees and that the other Doc may be able to help.

Take care of yourself though honey. You should get a doctor to check you out too but if you think it's IBS then some bland food might help. Get some pepermint capsules to take before you eat... although you better check what it says about taking them with ulcers...

Hello Everyone! I hope everyone's Sunday was WONDERFUL! Bob and I bought a new Toro lawn mower yesterday. Our other one broke last weekend, and it would have been the cost of a new mower to get it repaired. So now I might just run the gas out of it and see if a scrap metal shop will take it for some cash. The bad news was that we had to use or Disney money to buy the mower! :( Glad I counted all that change last week! Oh well, I still have around 140 days to stock pile up on change again.
Other than that, nothing exciting has been going on. Getting the yard ready for the summer...planning on installing a bocce ball court sometime in June. Shouldn't be too hard, just a few rail road ties and sand. :) Have to edge the driveway, refinish the picnic table and benches and find a spot for a new bird feeder, redo the trim around the screen windows in the back porch...wow..I write this down and it looks like it'll take all summer... With the thoughts of a party in the middle of June, we'll be able to get most of it done by then. (crossing fingers...)

If anyone is heading north to Geauga Lake or Cedar Point or Cleveland Zoo, don't hesitate to give me a call! I'd love to meet any of you in my neck of the woods!
Sorry to hear you had to use the Disney money. At least, you still have time. :)

Thanks for being concerned, but I did NOT go away without informing anyone. You guys just got really chatty this weekend, and I can't keep up. Fridays I hav league bowling and then I volunteer at the kids school in the afternoon. After school I drive Katie 25 miles to her violin lesson, and then home. We stopped at the nursery and got some new plants for our yard, and decided to plant them while it was still light outside.

Saturday we cleaned out our garage (had to so we could get into our pop up trailer and take inventory on what we need before camping season starts), cleaned our house, took the kids to the pond to fish and feed the ducks, then off to the swimming pool for the afternoon, and then to dinner with my sister and her family.

Today, Church, dinner, family time, and now, I'm just waiting for the cake I made to cool down so I can frost it and we can watch our Family Fun Movie! Sunday tradition at our house!

So, I haven't had much time to keep caught up here. I'm doing it now, but I HAVE to read every post as I don't want to miss much. I've already missed posting on my birth year, my HS Graduation year, my College Graduation year, my wedding year and my kids birth years. You guys talk a lot!
Sounds like a fun evening. Hope you enjoy your family movie. :goodvibes

The Peds Surgeon called tonight. He thinks that the Diverticula (area in the Esophagus that has pouched outward) may be the culprit as it can cause the symptoms Rees is having. The GI doc found it during the Endoscopy, but blew it off. I looked up Distal Esophageal Diverticula and it sounds just like Rees. The Surgeon also thinks it might be a hernia (para-esophageal hernia). So, he's calling tomorrow am to schedule some more tests. He too was worried about the weight loss and not eating and said he didn't want to have to put a feeding tube in. So Rees will have to go through more yucky tests. If it is the Diverticula, Rees will need Esophageal surgery to correct it. He said if it is the Fundo, he has a 90% success rate of repeating the surgery laparoscopically (vs open). That was good news.

I'm glad I got a 2nd opinion. And our GI doc sure won't want to see me and John if the Surgeon is right...
So glad that you might have more encouraging answers. :wizard: We'll continue to keep him in prayer.

Thanks for asking - I can't decide

he seems better but yesterday he told me
"I'm sick - need medicine" - that worries me b/c he hates medicine so much = I have stopped giving him tylenol unless he specifically complains - I don't want to mask symptoms and I really don't want him to be on it as long as he has - he seemed much better today - so hopefully he is getting better - it is really frustrating not to understand what is bothering him though - but at least I know it is nothing serious!! (well - migraines would suck but are not tragic!!)

Steve and I really enjoyed our weekend with him and Julia - we had such a LONG week and were both so stressed - Steve even had to work yesterday b/c he had missed so much work this week - we are blessed that his boss is like family to us and very understanding - he won't even have to use any vacation or sick time for it

so last night and today we concentrated on having fun family time! It is weeks like this that really remind you what is important in life and I tell you - there is nothing more important to me than those two little faces!! Nick is being very clingy and I LOVE it!!!! He usually isn't a mamma's boy - so I am savoring it while it lasts!!!!

Have a great week!!!
Have a nice week, too. And no more headaches for Nick :wizard: .

That's good new Denise, sort of, in the fact that you might finally have some answers. I hope they get the tests scheduled right away so that you can get the ball rolling.

Good morning early birds, and night owls when you get around to reading this.

Have a Disney Day.

How did your concert go?

The kids played to a full house! How nice to be on stage and look out to see 150-200 people watching you perform your own composition. :goodvibes

I still get goosebumps hearing some of these young performers; the talent in our young people is so inspiring. Although it is hard work for our staff, the outcome is gratifying. Just an amazing evening, and another one to come tonight!

Hi all...

Nathan (grandchild) is spending the night...it's only been 6 years since I had my last....but man, I forgot how time consuming babies are....I just got him to bed.

I hope to get pics tomorrow....he is 4 months old now...and he has turned into a robust Gerber looking baby!!

Kristine

Kristine - I hope you had a wonderful time. I can't wait to see the pictures.

My parents were 31 when I was born (the oldest of three) and I was 35 when Kristin was born (our younger DD). I think it was the year my parents both turned 70 that I remember my Mom and Dad telling Bob and me that they were about at the end of being able to care for toddlers for a long weekend without Mommy and Daddy around. When we went back to pick them up from the weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's house my parents looked exhausted. My little darlings (aged 11 and 3) had worn them out. :)

I was the only sibling to have children until 2003, when my brother and his wife were blessed with a son so it had been a long time since there were little ones running around my parents' house.

Morning, Tammi... and the rest of the early birds. I would hold off saying good morning to the night owls, but y'all have not been very chatty this weekend ( :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: ) and I have been able to keep up! So I guess you will probably be up and at 'em earlier today. So...

:sunny: Good Morning, DDA Early Birds and Night Owls! :sunny:

Denise -- this doc sounds like he will be a great change. I'm sorry Rees will have to have more tests, but I'm sure you would feel better if you know exactly what you are facing.

PD and Prayers to you, John, Rees, Davis and B-K. I hope they can do these tests as soon as possible and get all of the problems solved ASAP.

Prayers for the doctors and medical professionals for wisdom and clarity.

Jennifer -- thanks so much for sharing the pictures. I hope your arm/elbow is better today, and that you get good news on a mortgage/house. :sunny: :sunny:
