I just used acrylic paint. I figure since he won't actually be walking in them, I'm not worried about him wearing them off that way. We'll see how they hold up.

Sweetheart -- after my drive home from Long Island, there is nothing SHORT about an 8 hour drive!! ($3 a gallon too!)

Quick DDA Poll:

How much is regular unleaded in your area? We're at $2.99 at our cheapest station and quite a few are between $3.05 and $3.15.

Morning, y'all! Leaving in a few minutes for the doctors appt. Going to Chick Fil A for lunch too. I've having a grilled sandwich since I'm eating Cheesecake Factory tonight! Yummy!

Quick question, especially for our resident seamstresses! For MNSSHP, all of the costumes are lightweight/short sleeve/cool except for the Captain Hook for Davis. I have an old Disney Store CH costume from last year that is a little small. I was trying to figure out how to make it cooler for him to wear in the Sept heat. What if I cut the sleeves off and make it into a vest for him or just make it short sleeved. Would that look silly?

I don't think that would look silly at all. Aren't there a couple of scenes in the movie where Hook has his coat off? Whatever will keep Davis comfortable is what you need to do!

Cheapest I've seen as of yesterday was $2.83. I've also seen the $3.05ish range.

I need help from all of you creative people out there. I accidently destroyed the crib set I had with Christopher (which was unisex) but I got a blue PBK gingham/chambray bumper set super cheap to replace it. It also came with a chambray duvet which I'll never use, but could use the fabric for something else.

I also found these valances super cheap because the set was discontinued. I also got the diaper stacker to go with it.

So...I'm afraid it might look too boyish with all of the blue, but I don't want to buy new crib bedding when I already own this, and I really love the striped material. I'm thinking about putting the bumper on so the solid blue is facing out. I was also thinking about turning the valances into a dust ruffle (I have 6-7 of them). Or if someone had a better idea for a dust ruffle, I'd put the valances on the window over the panels I'm going to make. I'm making my own panels so I can use blackout lining for naptime. I'm not sure of the color of the panels yet, but I'm thinking it would be one of the colors in the valance.

Any suggestions on how to make this work for a girl? I'm thinking the walls will be green or yellow, but I'm open to other suggestions.

Here is a picture of the bumper with the valance, showing both sides of the bumper. The colors in the valance are yellow, blue, green and a light coral. The coral is showing up darker in the picture.

This one shows the diaper stacker, so you can see the yellow fabric.

Sorry the pictures are so big.

My sister had this same set with her last baby, a girl! It never looked too boyish, but if you're worried, you could add some lace. I think if you do the walls to match one of the other colors, you'll be just fine! I love the set!

If it makes you feel better...

Our prices have gone up recently to ridiculous levels - they have been at $4.50 for a while but are currently $6.11 a gallon. Yup that's dollars I just did the conversion...

Prayers are being said now! What a horrible thing! I'm so sorry for the mother!

I've been ploughing through with my essay again today, the second of two due in on Monday... it's really hard and I'm struggling...

Anyway I just got an email from my course leader, our tutor has been off sick for weeks so we've had no support and no online activities, so one of the lads emailed him today to complain and I was supposed to follow up tomorrow... but our course leader has come back to say he's really sorry and we can have an extension to May 17 :faint:

I'm not sure if that's good or bad though as I work so much better when a deadline is looming and now I'm likely to put my feet up for a fortnight :rolleyes1

:rotfl:

Well, I can give you a deadline! Clare, I want to see a copy of your essay on my desk first thing Monday morning! (You have to imagine me saying that in a strict "teacher" voice, or else you'll just laugh)

I know what you mean, though. Deadlines help me out, too! Seriously, if you want to send me a copy of your essay, just to help you get it done and out of your hair, feel free to do it! I'd be really interested!

At the gas station here in Alpine it's 2.75 a gallon. However, if I drive an extra 5 miles, I only pay 2.45 a gallon.

I am really trying to be good on my weight loss plan......but......an Attorneys office just showed up at the office with two fruit trays and about 100 Chic-fil-A chicken biscuits. I have to admit I had a bowl of fruit and a chicken biscuit.....they are my favorite. Now I will have to skip lunch (or maybe have some more fruit) since I am doing the Cheesecake Factory for dinner.

Lynn

Lynn -- I've found that if I occasionally indulge in my real cravings (not wants) in a small way, that I do better on my eating then if I ignore it for a long time, then finally binge on whatever I had been wanting. The next step is to get back on whatever plan I am following. This works well for me.

Have a good time at dinner tonight!

You aren't overreacting at all! That makes me sick to my stomach just hearing how the school reacted.

I'm definitely sending Prayers and PD to that family! pixiedust: They will need all the help they can get.

I always have to remind my Grandpa not to piss and moan because we pay one of the lowest amounts around the world. We really just get used to our low prices so we are always shocked when it goes up!!

As of a day or so ago, my area ranged from $2.87 - $2.97 or so. I have to fill up when I leave work so I'll look again then.
