All this talk of Chick Fil-A and Cheesecake Factory --- SOOOOOO unfair! We don't have either restaurants around here!!

Come on down to Pa. There is one in the Leigh Valley Mall, which is in Allentown.

Have to say, I haven't tried it yet. Just how good is the chicken? after all it is chicken.

I was just thinking about you Marti :) I knew all the talk about Chick-Fil-A would be difficult for you to hear. I saw Paul post a message about bringing the sandwiches back in baggies when ya'll are at Disney in May. You can purchase just the chicken. They call them breakfast fillets or lunch fillets depending on the time of day you are ordering them. Of course the breakfast size is smaller. Purchase as many of the lunch fillets that you want and keep them in baggies. Buy your own hamburger buns when you get home and they won't be soggie. The chicken heats up nicely in the oven.

Just thought I would try and help you out!!! I know that means I am an enabler but were talking about Chick-fil-A's!!!!

Lynn

Enable away!! That's the kind of enabling that I like! That's a good idea, and when Hunka Skunka catches up, I know there will be a smile on his face!

Morning, y'all! Leaving in a few minutes for the doctors appt. Going to Chick Fil A for lunch too. I've having a grilled sandwich since I'm eating Cheesecake Factory tonight! Yummy!

Quick question, especially for our resident seamstresses! For MNSSHP, all of the costumes are lightweight/short sleeve/cool except for the Captain Hook for Davis. I have an old Disney Store CH costume from last year that is a little small. I was trying to figure out how to make it cooler for him to wear in the Sept heat. What if I cut the sleeves off and make it into a vest for him or just make it short sleeved. Would that look silly?

What if you make the sleeves all shreddy when you cut them off. You could do that with both the jacket and the shirt underneath. Then you can attach a small stuffed alligator to his shoulder and it will look like he has been battling Tick Tock.

You know how some pirates have a parrot on their shoulder, well he can have an alligator!

I missed the first half of this discussion. Is this video from your church? Does this guy still have his job?

I just found a similar freudian slip story by a pastor:

“I remember,” he shouted, “when we looked up to women, expected them to set the moral tone for society. We placed them on a pedestal of honor. But not anymore. Have you seen the scandalous way women dress today?” To illustrate his dubious point, he offered his former organist as an example. “Our organist, a precious young woman, came to practice for the service, dressed in a pair of short, tight, hiked-up running shorts. It was disgraceful! Walking into the Lord’s house in those skimpy tight shorts. I determined to do something about it. It was my duty as a pastor. I confronted her and asked her to come down to my study and talk about it. I shared Scripture with her and told her how those shorts looked. And I’ll tell you, in fifteen minutes I had those shorts off of her!”

Well, the whole place erupted in laughter, and try as he might, that poor pastor was never able to win them back. His meaning was lost in his poor choice of delivery

I thought the same thing Heidi - Chicken is chicken right??? But at Chick fil-A it doesn't taste like chicken that you can get anywhere else. That's why I like it -- and want it more often because I can't duplicate it!

Well than I just may need to go to the mall this weekend, as there won't be anything else to do because we are supposed to have rain again.

I would definitely consider it if it weren't so darn HOT HOT HOT!!!!

During the summer, you're as hot as we are. We probably have higher humidity though. But we don't have to shovel snow in the winter!

It is the best chicken sandwich around!!! It is all white meat and not fried or baked but broasted. It is actually Weight Watchers friendly. The regular chicken sandwich on a wheat bun is only 8pts and you can get the lunch fillet w/ no bun for only 5 points.

I need help from all of you creative people out there. I accidently destroyed the crib set I had with Christopher (which was unisex) but I got a blue PBK gingham/chambray bumper set super cheap to replace it. It also came with a chambray duvet which I'll never use, but could use the fabric for something else.

I also found these valances super cheap because the set was discontinued. I also got the diaper stacker to go with it.

So...I'm afraid it might look too boyish with all of the blue, but I don't want to buy new crib bedding when I already own this, and I really love the striped material. I'm thinking about putting the bumper on so the solid blue is facing out. I was also thinking about turning the valances into a dust ruffle (I have 6-7 of them). Or if someone had a better idea for a dust ruffle, I'd put the valances on the window over the panels I'm going to make. I'm making my own panels so I can use blackout lining for naptime. I'm not sure of the color of the panels yet, but I'm thinking it would be one of the colors in the valance.

Any suggestions on how to make this work for a girl? I'm thinking the walls will be green or yellow, but I'm open to other suggestions.

Here is a picture of the bumper with the valance, showing both sides of the bumper. The colors in the valance are yellow, blue, green and a light coral. The coral is showing up darker in the picture.

This one shows the diaper stacker, so you can see the yellow fabric.

Sorry the pictures are so big.

Dawn - I don't think they look all that boyish... but my first thought was that maybe you could buy some edging of lace. Maybe in a matching color and add that - that will always make something more feminine.

After all this talk about food, my Hunka is taking me out to lunch. Not Chick Fil-A, but I'll still enjoy it.

We didn't have Cheesecake Factory until a couple years ago. My family would always drive up to Columbus on birthdays to go when they got theirs. Before that, that closest was Chicago! We did that once though, too :rolleyes1

I like the lace idea.

He is actually a colleague of my uncle's in Kentucky. He is a youth pastor near the seminary where they work.

And yes, he still has his job :)

wow I am caught up already. I hope every one is okay.
Glad to hear a few of you are getting to meet.
I know I will proablly never meet most of you. Hopefully Kristin and I can meet at wdw this dec.
To bad all the other DDA's in texas live in the Dallas area that is a 5 hour drive so not sure if it will happen for us.

How long does it take you to drive to Galveston? My family has a beach house on Pirate's Beach. Maybe next time I'm down there you can come down for the day. You can bring your little princess and she can play on the beach with my 2 1/2 yo nephew (if he's there). We have a big tent to protect her skin and we can drive around in the golf cart, which Lukey (nephew) LOVES! Otherwise, we have tons of videos, toys and beach stuff to keep her busy.

I don't have a Galveston weekend planned at the moment, but want to go soon before it gets too humid.

I'm glad you can hear it at least! I hope you can get the video to work sometime, because his face after he says it is PRICELESS!!!!!!!

No, I was not there. We got the email from my uncle :)

Dawn-

I think the set is adorable!! I would pick out a fabric color from in the set (yellow or coral maybe) and use that for accenting. The baby isn't going to care whether it's sleeping in a "boy" or "girl" decorated room, and more than likely you will be happy they are sleeping!! Don't sweat the small stuff. Easy for me to say!
