Are you looking for the "cruising with Mickey" one, with the waves in the Mickey head? I have that one saved, I can PM you as well. :goodvibes

YES - YES - YES!!!!!!! THAT IS THE ONE - WITH THE 3-D Mickey head that she does with the waterish motif inside of it. I love the simplicity of it.

I do love everyone's designs but this was the one that stuck in my head when I sat down to do a quick design and poof! No link!

I will PM you my e-mail address. That would be soo kind of you to share. I am an idiot for not saving it when I first saw it.

I don't know if she is banned. I do know you can set it so you don't get PMs. I actually think, given the posts she removed, that maybe she needed a little separation - I didn't see the posts, but she could have developed a stalker - well, maybe beyond me, I mean :bitelip:

Hey guys -

I did a little digging and I sent Midnite a message via DisMates and her work email - I also have a phone number that I can try in a few days if I don't hear back from her

but I do have some bad news -

it appears that Midnite has been banned from the DIS -

when you click on her name the option for send a private message does not appear - this is usually a surefire sign that someone has been banned -

I will let you all know what I find out!
I don't think she's banned, I think she turned her PM's off. Usually when you're banned your tags disappear and are replaced with "Registered" under your name.

Good morning, everyone. Boy, it has been quiet around here since Friday night. Hope everyone is well. Kids went back to school. I'm sitting here filling out all their paperwork to register them for Kindergarten tomorrow. Where did the time go?

DH and I are talking about me going back to school to get my certification to teach school. I have a BS in Biology/Chemistry/Physics and my BSN in nursing (yes, I've already gone back to school once to get my 2nd Bachelors). This would be one night a week for maybe up to a year, but then I'm a certified teacher and can teach elementary, maybe Science in middle/high school. I think teaching is definitely my best choice for working and having the lifestyle I want (be home for summers, holidays, no weekends, etc). The thought of going back isn't fun for me, but I think that 5 years from now when they're approaching middle school I would be so glad I did it now. My mom thinks I should. My mom and SIL teach elementary, both of my grandfathers had PhDs and taught college, my grandmothers taught high school, so I come from a long line of educators. I hate to "waste" my nursing degree, but nursing is just not conducive to what I want family wise.

Any opinions? I know we have several teachers in the DDA.

Denise,
I would go back to school, one night a week for a year if it would give me summers and time off when the kids are off.

My weekend was so busy, and emotional I just want to sleep.

The prep for BIL Air Force Reserve retirement ceremony and party was draining. My sister (whom I do love very much) was about to get shot from my mother,DH and myself. She didn’t have her fecal matter together what so ever. One would think that if YOU had to host a party… YOU would have your fecal matter together. She didn’t even have a dress to wear! She went shopping Friday night AND Saturday morning for it. I could go on and on. The basics are… she didn’t have all the food needed, didn’t have a dress, and expected my mother and I to decorate as well as go pick up the food she didn’t get. While she went to Macy’s.

Now mind you… my sister is self-employed (as a Stager) and she can work how ever much she feels like. She worked all week except Friday when she did who knows what and then came to my house (1 ½ hours away) about 6:30 just to leave again and didn’t come back with anything.

The ceremony was wonderful, they had a slide show of BIL from the day he entered the AF to just a few months ago. WOW how time flies!

They (his unit) gave him wonderful words and gifts, but the thing that got me and always does was the official flag folding.

The Honor Guard walks in and brings a folded flag; they then give a few clicks of their heels and unfold the flag. As it is held open, music starts and another Honor Guard member speaks of the meaning of the stars, stripes and the colors. As the Honor Guard member is telling everyone what the stars, stripes and colors represent, the other two members begin to fold the flag again. At the end, they go and give it to the retiree with “thanks from a grateful nation”. This always makes me cry. If you have ever seen the flag folding ceremony for a military funeral (even in a movie or TV), it’s the same thing minus the sound of the bugler in the background playing TAPS.

Know it was off to my house for food and gifts from family and friends. We had a nice time and just about all of the people BIL invited came. We had a wonderful and stayed up until almost 11:00. WOW what a long day.

Sunday I had to go to work all day. When I got home we spoke with some friend’s who have a daughter that was diagnosed with cancer back in August and is no longer responding to the chemo treatments. The doctors give her about six months if a new non-FDA approved drug doesn’t work. It’s so very sad, she is only 11.

They are on their way to WDW for her Wish trip and I am making her a few shirts for the trip. I will say that even with her looking so bad, her spirits are very high. Her parents are not going to tell her what the DR said, because any chance is better than none at all.

This morning I was out looking for shirts for Katie and I hope to have them done by tomorrow.

Update on my SIL to come later. I am off to play a few games with the girls.

I'm back!!! I know I haven't been around for a couple of weeks. I was getting ready for our Spring Break Cruise. We had a great time and the boys loved it. The weather was great and just a little sunburn on the top of the shoulders. I have everyone on here and hope everyone is well. Has anyone heard from Denise about any storm damage from the weekend storms in Atlanta?? We didn't have any in Gwinnett County but I did hear that Denise's area had some was thinking about them when I saw the news report at the airport on Saturday.

If I missed anything big please fill me in!!!

Lynn

Welcome home, glad your cruise was fun. Denise is east of where the damage was and it looked really bad. Glad to hear you are all okay too.

Welcome back! Glad to hear your cruise was so fun! Denise is ok, she said that her house didn't get any damage. That's good, right? I just really think that all DDA'ers should move to Utah where we don't have any tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. That way, I wouldn't have to worry about you all so much!

I don't think you missed anything big. I caused a big stir by going away without telling anyone, and got in big trouble from the Queen and Tammi and others. It led to Kate starting a contact sheet so we can keep tabs on one another.

Post some pics of your cruise when you get a spare minute. That's something I've always wanted to try. DH might just go for that one. He loves anything to do with water.

That is one of the reasons we haven't been to WDW lately, I'm so hooked on cruising, it is just wonderful and I can kick myself for not trying it earlier!!

Kate, you can disable the Private Message function under account options. Midnite removed her posts herself (not a moderator), so maybe she just needed a break and took them off, disabled PM, and isn't banned. Let's hope that's the case!

Hope so :goodvibes

I think it's great you are helping with Katie's Wish trip! Hopefully she'll have a wonderful time and the family can make some magical memories. I'll keep her in my prayers.

Even reading about the flag ceremony tears me up. If you all have not seen this ceremony in person it is so very moving.....movies/tv don't usually do it justice.

Sounds like your sister may have been in denial....and didn't have her fecal matter together.....okay it took me a bit to get this but once I did I was :rotfl2:

It sounds like the ceremony and party were all very nice. Happy retirement to your BIL.

Is Katie staying at Give Kids the World? If so and they have any questions, let me now and I'm sure that I can find the answer. We visited the Village in December and it is amazing! Another group that I am on has adopted GKTW as it's group charity and there are several people who had visited and worked there several times before.

Sounds to me like Tinkerbell!!!

So let me see if I am understanding you correctly - your DH's sister has really bad cancer - possibly terminal - and her mother is trying to work it into her schedule to go see her :confused3 My child would not have gotten the words "I have cancer" out of their mouths before I made it there!!

I like the Tinkerbell idea. Now everytime I hear the tinking on the chandelier I will say hello Tinkerbell.:)

Yes ma;am, my MIL is a bit out to lunch with this.

I think you should table your decision for one month and see how you feel about it then

You have gone back and forth and there are pros and cons to each side - so I say wait and see how you feel about it in one month and do what is best for your family!!!!

I agree, table it for a while. I will pray that all works out for you.

I need to clarify something! I was NEVER a cheerleader, but many of my students "accused" me of being one, because I smile so much.

But, I was yearbook editor, and I did put the individual pictures of the senior cheerleaders in order of who I like most to least... :teeth:

Amy :)

Oh Amy, I was a cheerleader and worked on the yearbook staff, maybe not as editor, but I did work on the cheerleading page.
Maybe I could make you a cheerleading uniform to go w/ your smile :teeth:

To get the dining plan you have to be on a package with Disney.
To be on a package with Disney you have to buy hotel and tickets together.

If you're an AP Holder and you want the dining plan, you have to buy a package with Disney which means you have to buy hotel and tickets together. "But I already have tickets!" you say? So you buy a one day base ticket to be included in the package.

You now have your AP and a one day base ticket. The base ticket doesn't expire until you use it. So you don't use it because you have your AP. And you've gotten the dining plan. Now you have a one day base ticket saved. Use it for a Christmas gift. Use it towards next year's AP cost. Store it away for your kids kids, because it doesn't expire. But the big thing is that you've gotten the dining plan now.

I so need you to send me your office info so I can call you next time I am planning a trip via AAA.

But- here's my good news as to why I was away-
Check out my new car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparantly all my "charm" ;) worked out after all! (Just not for a free dining trip in the fall!) DH felt bad about having to turn it down after all so this was my "consolation" prize. :rotfl2:

I would post a real picture of it on my driveway, but it is starting to drizzle and I don't want to get it wet  It is silver like this picture, though.

WOW!! Good for you!:cool1:

By the way, a few of you have insinuated that Jennifer and Kyle should look at our house, if anything to get a free dinner out of it! :teeth: Just to clarify, I think our house is probably too small and old for what they're looking for.

But I did buy $25 worth of ribeyes to serve for dinner on Saturday! :thumbsup2

Amy :)

Any bites on your house?

Water. I'm about to float away and my Dr. still says I'm not drinking enough

Try it with a little KoolAid. I would "water" down powdered drink mixes to give the water a little flavor and color. This seemed to help for a while. But the copious amounts of water does suck.
