I want you all to know that I am reading along but can not respond to everyone's posts and you all have yourselves to blame!!!

You are all in my thoughts and prayers in everything I am doing!!!

Which today was putting together a puzzle of the US with Julia and telling her this is where BK lives, this is where Matt lives, this is where the Alyssa that we haven't met lives, this is where Terra lives...and so on!!! :lmao:

So now I am sure you are all asking yourselves why it is your fault that I haven;t got a lot of time to post - SPRING CLEANING!! You all motivated me and I am ready to go in and clear it all out!!

I get emotionally attached to things - I really need to learn to let go of them!! My biggest challenge (besides my basement) will be my toy room - they have WAY too many stuffed animals and toys and they hardly play with them b/c they have too many to decide what to play with or find all the pieces - so I need to condense but I am so emotionally attached that I don't know how to!! For example - we have almost the entire little people town - and I just can't bear to part with it but it takes up so much room!!

Emotional attachments to my kids' toys holds me back, too. Could you box it and store it in the attic or basement? Asks the woman who still has that kind of stuff hanging around when her youngest is getting ready to turn 7! :rotfl:

Good news!!!

Midnite was not banned - she is taking a break (unrelated to us) and turned off her pm's so people would not think she was ignoring them when she did not answer

she is still not sure if her trip is going to happen or not

She says hello and will be back when things calm down a bit!!!

I'm so glad that you found this out! I think we were all getting a bit worried. I should have known that the Queen would be on top of things.

It is, but you have to be hired first. DH and I think that me subbing in the school system while I get certified might be better. Then I can pick when I work, not have a stressful first year with teaching and going to school, and let my "face be seen" by the administration. I have been told that is the way to get hired around here.

So another debate is keep teaching pre-school next year or quit that and be a full-time sub in the 3 elementary schools closest to our house. My friends have told me it will NOT be a problem working 5 days a week if I want.

WWYD?
if your going back to school sub while doing it. like you said you can pick when you want to work.

My day has been very busy. I had my last parent/teacher conference for Nicholas and got some great tips on how to reinforce and remember what he has learned for over summer vacation.

Then he had his second soccer game, which they won, 4-1. He was so thrilled, and he played really well, so we went out for pizza afterwards. I sure wish I could run as hard and as long as he does.

Now it's home, baths and bed.

Oh you all are putting me to shame!!!! If I can get my windows cleaned, inside and out, this spring, I will be happy.

Speaking of being emotionally attached to things.....what do you all do with the items/projects/papers that your kids bring home from school? I have done a binder with everything for Nicholas' first 2 years of preschool, but in Kindergarten I have collected so much more stuff. It is probably stacked a foot and a half high. I love having his writing samples, pictures he's colored, etc. throughout the year and I thought it would be something nice to look back on. I just need to figure out what I can eliminate and what is a must keep.

I have the opposite problem...unless it's nailed down, I can pretty much get rid of anything!! I keep the really special things the kids make. There is no way with 4 kids that I can keep every project, craft, picture, story, poem etc. that is made. I have found for myself, the administration of so much stuff became paralyzing!

Tammi,
One of my girlfriends decided to take the papers from school and then would take them to say Office Depot or Staples and have color copies made that were reduced in size. Then she was able to include a lot more in his scrapbook. When I get around to Emma's school scrapbook that is what I plan on doing.

I was gonna say scan everything or take digital photos of it and keep digital copies. Store it all on cd or dvd. Print out what you want to keep and make a scrapbook out of it. Or print the favorites out on the t-shirt transfer paper and make quilt squares and make a quilt or make pillows, t-shirt or something similar.

You could also print out favorites and frame them or make place mats and laminate them. You could take favorites and make a wall calendar for family members for next year.

With the originals you could have him write a letter on the back and give to your relatives. Such as thank you notes or just notes to keep in contact with family members.

I'm sure I could think of other things, but this is all I got for now.

I should do this as I still have stuff from when I was in elementary school. But to put that into perspective, when we cleaned out my Grandmother's house we found writing samples from when she was in elementary school she is 86.

We are watching deal or no deal and he just offered her 88000 and DS said 'take the money and run Women!!!' :rotfl2:

Tia - Did you see that best days are out?

KC- Let me know whenever you need help with your next trip! It's a good thing that you're helping the Make a Wish family. I had clients that booked last May for a September trip. In June their 8 year old son was diagnosed with cancer. I helped convince her to contact Make a Wish and they ended up going in August. She brought all the photos into the office when they got back, and he was their chatting up a storm about how Goofy rode the Barnstormer with him, and he "got to cut in line" because of his Make a Wish shirt and how grandma and grandpa got their pictures with Mickey..I could go on and on. The mom promised the family they would go back when Brian was cancer free. On the 3rd of April, he became cancer free and the family's new guardian angel (mine too!) Making the shirts for them sound like a GREAT idea. I wish I would have known this board last August to share you'alls talent with them! (Maybe this year!!!)

Weluvdisney - Good luck with the garage sale!!!

I'm not officially. I am waiting to hear from 1 more parent and I don't have their baby until Wednesday, I figure I will be booking regardless though I just feel like I have to wait to hear from them. I have arranged for someone to watch my kids on both days and I have also made pedicure and tanning appts. for the night before :teeth: !!!

I am having my garage sale on Friday 4/21 & Saturday 4/22, Weather Permitting!!!! Let me know!!!

Paula-Katie is in my prayers.

Kyle's big boy bed came on Saturday and the crib promptly came down. He did great! He was so excited to sleep in it- so excited that it took almost 2 hours on Saturday to get him to settle down and sleep! Now if we can just get him back on the potty :confused3 he is on some sort of self- imposed ban for a few weeks now. I was pretty stressed but now I don't even mention it to him in the hopes that he'll regain interest on his own soon...

Re: my designs. Thanks for the continued kind words. I am more than willing to share with my DDA family so please just PM your requests.
Congrats on the big boy bed! We're still working on the big girl bed. She was doing great and then we all got sick. Here's a bit of :wizard: for the potty too. Emma was doing so great last summer. She was dry for about a month in panties until Lizzy asked her if she was afraid she'd get flushed down the potty. :furious: For weeks/months Emma wouldn't go into the bathroom even to wash her hands. Wouldn't use the potty chair outside the bathroom. She'll now sit on the real potty with ring but hasn't done much on it. I've signed her up for Nature Camp at Joe's preschool in June and keep reminding her that she needs to wear panties. I'm looking forward to trying harder this summer when she's back in shorts.

I love your designs! I just got 15 T's, 2 short sleeved denim shirts, and 1 long sleeved denim shirt from blankshirtstore.com (thanks Kate!!!) for under $75. So...I've got to work on my T shirt itinerary. I also got the patches I ordered for the denim shirts today. I may send you a PM for some of your designs.

Tammi-windows cleaned would be awesome around here!

On the school work thing-I purchased a portfolio to store the best and took photos of the others I wanted to "save" but not store.
