I am a little worried...I haven't seen her around in awhile. I have sent her an email to her personal email address.

I was hoping someone had her personal address. I was worried as well. Let us know if you hear anything. Hope all is well with her.

Thanks guys for trying. Just to set your minds at ease, her last post wasn't all that long ago. The end of March or so. So she's around. I hope she checks in here. It's gotta be just a broken link or something. But she definately does not want to be contacted through the DIS.

Here's to hoping all is well right along with you guys. Thanks for the wishes for a good cruise too :goodvibes

Not trying to be a stalker...I checked and Midnite's last post was March 30th. On April 4th she removed that post and a few others on the same thread. I certainly hope everything is ok with her! She was planning a Disney trip for April, wasn't she?

I have thought about doing this in 2 yrs, when I retire, for a second income. I already have a BA. Elin, do you know what I would need to do or who I would talk to for our county? Can you point me in the right direction?

PMed you!

At least it doesn't look like it was something on our board that sent her away. I'm sorry to see her go and hope that her removing her designs was an accident. She did some amazing work.

Another thing I love about the DDA - they help feed your addiction instead of telling you that you are nuts!!!! :lmao: I'm checking them all out. I also have a build-a-bear so I'll have to check those out as well. He just doesn't travel with me anymore.

Good morning, everyone. Boy, it has been quiet around here since Friday night. Hope everyone is well. Kids went back to school. I'm sitting here filling out all their paperwork to register them for Kindergarten tomorrow. Where did the time go?

DH and I are talking about me going back to school to get my certification to teach school. I have a BS in Biology/Chemistry/Physics and my BSN in nursing (yes, I've already gone back to school once to get my 2nd Bachelors). This would be one night a week for maybe up to a year, but then I'm a certified teacher and can teach elementary, maybe Science in middle/high school. I think teaching is definitely my best choice for working and having the lifestyle I want (be home for summers, holidays, no weekends, etc). The thought of going back isn't fun for me, but I think that 5 years from now when they're approaching middle school I would be so glad I did it now. My mom thinks I should. My mom and SIL teach elementary, both of my grandfathers had PhDs and taught college, my grandmothers taught high school, so I come from a long line of educators. I hate to "waste" my nursing degree, but nursing is just not conducive to what I want family wise.

Any opinions? I know we have several teachers in the DDA.

Denise, I think you would be a wonderful teacher! I think it would be a handy thing to have, in case something were to happen, you'd be able to support the kids. If I were to do it again, I'd get my elementary certification. I just don't think I could handle the high school age kids anymore. Too much attitude for me to deal with.

Good luck! Going back to school is tough, but it is worth it in the end.

It is, but you have to be hired first. DH and I think that me subbing in the school system while I get certified might be better. Then I can pick when I work, not have a stressful first year with teaching and going to school, and let my "face be seen" by the administration. I have been told that is the way to get hired around here.

So another debate is keep teaching pre-school next year or quit that and be a full-time sub in the 3 elementary schools closest to our house. My friends have told me it will NOT be a problem working 5 days a week if I want.

WWYD?

I'd go with the substitute teaching. It really is a great way to get your face known by the district. It's also a great way to decide if full time teaching is really what you want to do.

Hooray I'm all caught up :)

Now I have to go switch my work laptop on and crack open my "how to use access" book... My manager just tasked me with building some fancy database... and I'm not really very sure how to use that programme :rolleyes1:

Hopefully I can pull it off with the help of the book and some googling :rotfl:

For those of you looking for an Easter book, The Chocolate Rabbit was one of my favorite easter books as a child. Unfortunately it is out of print, so you would have to buy it used an you probably wouldn't have it in time for Easter.

Becky

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm ordering a copy now for next Easter. I can't wait to see it!

My problem with cleaning is, once I start I have to get everything perfect. So I can't just do 15 minutes here and there. It drives me crazy because once I start I am on a mission but I never seem to have enough time to get it right once I start. So I am afraid to start because then that is all I will do until I get it how I want it. So most times I don't end up cleaning and just live with the clutter. :confused3

Becky

That's the way I used to be, too. Once I started using Flylady's system it was better, because I used a timer. Once the timer went off I HAD to stop. It was hard the first couple of days, but after a while, I got used to stopping after the timer went off, and I was amazed at what I had gotten done, and how much better I felt about cleaning.

Seriously, the timer made all the difference to me!

I have been tossing around the same idea for a couple of years now. It would be so convenient to have off the same times as my kids. Colby doesn't start kindergartend for 2 more years and I don't think I would do anything until then. It is such a tough decision.

Take some deep breaths and relax. You will do great on them. Sending you :wizard: .

Thanks. I know that I will get through it, but it's really making me anxious. The 2 final projects are so very time consuming. I can't really work on them while the kids are around because they keep interrupting me. Hopefully, this weekend I can knock them both out. I plan on doing one on Friday (DH doesn't work and I can go to the library and just stay there till I'm done), and the other one on Saturday. I appreciate the pixie dust. I'm going to need it! I have to build a web site and set up a blog page on it. I'm such a technology idiot, that this is literally causing me to break out in a cold sweat!

Time to set my timer and work on my office. I've been avoiding it! Crazy I know since I would be so much happier if I could get this one last room done. There is just sooooo much paperwork from Girl Scouts, work, and personal that needs to be sorted, deleted & filed.

Denise, I have some thoughts about teaching, but it'll probably be long so I'll PM you later.

Does anyone know if she took her spur of the moment trip to WDW? She needs to be scolded just like Glynis was.

she can't be PM'd and she turned off her e-mail capabilities and her site is removed. Is there a reason - would I be bothering her and she doesn't want to do this anymore? I don't want to open a wound here. I just loved her cruise design.

I don't believe that anything happened that effected Midnite. Someone posted the other day that she may be on vacation. I know the DisMates was her first love. Can you find a link to that?

I don't really have any answers for you. MidNite pops in and out, but we haven't seen her for a while. She spoke about an impromptu trip to the World, but we never heard what happened with that.

Have you checked out any of the cruise designs by other designers? There have been some wonderful ones.
