So clare's post about when we all came along inspired me - here is a list of when people joined the original thread (up to the first 20 pages) then I skimmed to see when the real designing began for Midnite and I and when the chatting began - I could be wrong as I didn't read anything - but here is a quick synopsis

Page 19 – Midnite made this silly statement

And followed up with this a few posts later

Then followed by this:

Page 20:
KristineN

And on page 36 – I made this statement

On page 37 – I posted the first off topic post – about Julia & Belle – it was related to the first design I ever did – someone asked how Julia got to ride the teacups with belle

Then on page 39 – it was all over when I posted this:

On page 169
Chaoscent dubbed us the Disney Design Addicts

And it appears that Marti and I started the first conversation shortly after with a discussion about (Of course) DVC!!!

You can look here to see when you first found the DDA!!! (if it was the original thread)

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=826364&page=1&pp=15

then we can see when everyone started posting!

I know I joined in somewhere around page 400 or so- and silly me read all of them first before I posted!! :rotfl2:

Woo hoo! A milestone (of sorts) for me. Of course I'm the least prolific designer of the bunch... :rolleyes1

I remember being really hesitant about sharing that design. I had no idea we'd have such a supportive and enthusiastic group of posters and was afraid someone would have said they didn't like it or question the legalities of my font/image usage or otherwise flame me in general. How wrong I was -- and how glad I am that I joined the DDAs!

Hi, everyone. Thank you so very much for the prayers and calls. Rees had a good nights sleep and was able to go to school today. I've talked with the GI doctor this morning and am waiting to hear back from him on whether they will schedule the Upper GI ASAP or do an endoscopy instead. I am certain he will need the Fundo repaired quickly, and John and I both want it scheduled as soon as possible. We don't want to see Rees in that kind of pain or do permanent damage to his esophagus.

Again, thanks to you all, and I will keep you posted.

Wonderful news! I hope Rees (Davis and BK too!) enjoyed the Easter party. I hope his doctors grasp the urgency of the situation and do something ASAP; one minute of your child in agony is one minute too many. Best wishes for a speedy resolution.

I am glad Reese had a good night and was able to attend his party.

I got some cute Mickey and Minnie cookies today at Walmart, the backs are dipped in chocolate and they have colored sugar on top. They also had a package of Donald and Daisy and I thought of Rees and how he likes Donald Duck and was hoping he had a good day at school.

Sending :grouphug: and :wizard: that they doctors decide quickly to do the surgery, so he does not have to suffer too much.

Can I go over to her in a box first, as Pal Becky??? Can you imagine the cost of that? :rotfl2: I think I would be better off buying the plane ticket.

Kate - the walk down memory lane was fun on the old thread! I found my first post on pg. 235 on 8/17 - you helped me out with a princess design for pillowcases I made for my 2 nieces, which I got signed at CRT the following week.

I can remember reading the thread from just about the beginning, but on 8/17 my busy time at work was just coming to an end, and I was able to focus on other things.

My firstborn son is going to be 4 tomorrow. Wow! Where has the time gone?! For his birthday we're just going to do cake and ice cream with the family, but this weekened we're taking him to the park in a neighboring town that has a kiddie train, kiddie roller coaster and a merry-go-round. (This is their website.) We plan on spending the day there. Tonight we took the family out for a pre-birthday dinner at a nice new Mexican restaurant.

This is my boy riding on the train last year (the date's wrong on the photo!)

Well, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your son!!!! The time does seem to fly by, doesn't it? And it just goes faster the older they get. My babies just turned 4 and it doesn't seem that long ago that I brought them home from the hospital.

Sounds like you have a wonderful birthday planned. Enjoy it! It's so nice to see you back posting again.

So Cincinnati .... where's the "rain all day"?! Not that I'm complaining, but I cancelled plans because the weather looked so terrible! :confused3

At work we use Fed-ex to ship packages. Everytime we call in to send something the automated recording asks "Does your package weigh over 150 pounds?" Everytime they ask it, it makes me giggle. I think no, I am not sending myself.

I had an awwww how sweet moment with my girls last night that I wanted to share with all of you lamenting your babies getting older.

My babies are going to be 10 and 14 in just over a month and have been sleeping in the same, twin size, bed since the youngest was 2. This is by their choice as they do have two seperate beds. But the last week we have had hormonal Harriet in our house instead of our normal Cassidy, so I have made sure Abi is in her bed. Last night I go in to tell them to seperate and the hormonal one of the two said "Mom, please can she sleep here I promise we'll go right to sleep". After all the grief she has been giving her sister I had to have a moment and say awwwwww. These two spend from 9 until they are threatened within an inch of their life giggling and talking except when hormonal Harriet rears her ugly head.

You're going to find out that we seem to a little bit of everything. It's funny, but when I have a question (Disney or otherwise) this is the first place I turn to. And I've always gotten a great answer! This is one great group of people, and believe me, I wouldn't trade them for anyone else in the world!

We love to share recipes, so keep that in mind.

Will check back in later. I am headed out the door to get a few things I forgot for Passover Dinner tonight. And to hit the Disney store to look for an Eeyore for Emma's Easter basket. Just to clarify, DH is Jewish and I'm not so we celebrate both the Jewish holidays and the Christian ones. Don't get too chatty on me.

That is so cool that you have found a way to blend both traditions. Do you mind me asking what you do? I am not Jewish, but I love to expose my children to different religions, and traditions (in the hopes of making them a more well-rounded bunch of kids). I've wanted to try a Passover dinner, maybe for next year. Could you give me some hints? Anyone else is welcome to chime in as well!

That's good news, Denise.

I was thinking, as I read through the posts this morning, isn't it funny (or more like amazing) how many of us slept restlessly last night, knowing one of our "family" was in distress? It just goes to show, when one of the DDA is in trouble, we all are. :goodvibes

You too? I slept really poorly last night, and found myself on my knees more than I was in my bed! I'm so glad that Rees was able to get some sleep. However, I'll bet my eyeteeth that Denise didn't get much. So, Denise, we were all there for you. I was really bothered by the whole thing, and so was DH. Every time I woke up, he was awake as well. He'd look at me and say "Rees, right?" I'd nod, and we'd pray together. In a way, it's brought us closer (and I think my association with you all is helping get him more Disney addicted).

OK ladies, I need some help here. I'm trying to find a decent bag for our next Disney trip. I want something small, something that can hold a camera, water bottle, towel (don't laugh!) and park maps. Nothing major, since it will be going on rides with me! I really like the bags that cross the body.
I bought this one: http://www.ebags.com/ful/peabody_mini_sling/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=59966
but when I received it and tried it on...I just didn't like it. Too big for me, and the "girls" didn't like how wide the front strap was.
So I returned it. Here are my next two choices.
http://www.ebags.com/brooklyn_industries/mail_bag_small/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=66063 I really really like this bag. It's small, the strap is small enough to not bother the girls, and it looks like there is plenty of room inside to fit my needs.
Then I kept looking...that was my mistake. I found this one, and it's been recommended on the DIS in other threads. http://www.ebags.com/baggallini/mes..._nylon/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=18644 I'm thinking it might be too big, and when I look at some of the alternate photos, I don't know if I like how wide the strap is. I'm thinking it might be too big for me, but the organization of the bag just amazes me.

Help me pick! I hate buying and returning things, and loosing shipping each time!

Ask Queen Kate to show you her bags. They are so cool! She has designed a couple of bags specifically for WDW (or DL, if you are me or Paula).

I would like to share this with you all.

"Disneyland is the star, everything else is in the supporting role." -Walt Disney

:)
Now this doesn't mean the Walt didn't think WDW was important..... but he did say the DisneyLAND is the STAR. :rotfl:

My baby is trying real hard to come to grips with us not going to WDW this summer. She said this morning..."But it was going to be my first time." Made me :guilty: . Then she said "What if daddy doesn't have a job then either." The poor dear certainly knows how to lay an unintentional guilt trip on. I think she may come by it naturally from my side of the family...my mom and grandma do it well....mom says I do a good one too.
