Sorry! Alyssa got into all the DVDs and she was screaming at me to put the Blues Clues one in. I couldn't really hear you either, so I'm assuming we both said "bye!" :teeth:

By the way, my daughter's latest thing is to call me "Amy" when she really wants my attention. I have no idea where she picked this up, because I rarely hear anyone, including Kevin, use my name. Has anyone else's toddler gone through this stage?

Amy :)

Yep! I think that with all the Mom this and Mom that of trivial stuff, I'd start to tune it out so they'd catch me not listening and they'd use Vicki. It doesn't get any better when they get older. They do always try mom first (at least, I think they do :rotfl: ) but if I don't answer, I'll hear them use Vicki.

an older!! :cool1:

When I went on my retreat a few weekends back...I had to tell my favorite recent movie and I of course said.."High School Musical". There are definitely more ladies searching it out now.

You know Amy is my stalker and I actually never gave her my phone number - she had to look it up

Yes, I'm such a stalker, looking up a phone number in the phone book! :rotfl:

And you should all know that when Kate answered the phone I said, "Kate?" and she said "No." Thinking I was then talking to her mom, I then said, "Oh is Kate home?" And she replied, "This is me, I'm just giving you a hard time."

Evil use of caller ID Kate...it's not like I'm a stressed mother-to-be, planning a party for 60 tomorrow. ;)

Amy :)

okay - Julie has set the bar for contact info:

How old is your child and how many chicken strips (not nuggets) can he/she eat?

Amy :)

I don't think of myself as old either. However, we are playing a joke on my boss - long story - so I asked each of my staff to bring a roll of toilet paper from home to our meeting yesterday. I also asked if anyone had an old Sears Roebuck catalog we could use (we also collected some maple leaves - good thing the snow is melting so we could find them on the ground). I had to explain to half of them why I wanted a sears catalog when the joke is around toilet paper. Definitely made me feel old!!!!

For you youngin's out there: during the outhouse days, poor people didn't have toilet paper. They used the Sears Roebuck catalog. They'd go in and sit on the hole, grab a page from the catalog, and crumple it while they were doing their business. When they were done, hopefully the page was softer. The paper was different than is used now for catalogs (more like our current phone books). My grandfather had an outhouse until he died when I was 16. He did use toilet paper most of the time but when he would run out, the Sears Roebuck catalog was there as backup. Mom also remembers using the pages to cover the walls to help keep the wind out.

Now truthfully, how many of you didn't know this??!!

And to think that I complain about certain brands of toilet paper :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Jen - I've seen your sig so many times - but I've just noticed that you have the exact same picture of Mickey admiring your rings as we do!! I nearly told the story of that picture on that autograph thread too :)

I do have a good character interaction about my ring as well. Becky wanted to get Peter Pan's signature (since we knew we couldn't get Tink's) our first year so we tracked down where he was going to be. We got there early and sat across from PotC at a table with an umbrella. I had my back to PotC. Well, Mr. Smee came up behind me and went to grab for my ring (like he was stealing it). My whole family got a good chuckle out of that. The characters are great!!!! The memories they provide last a lifetime.

Nick is going through the exact same thing -

now he just thinks it is funny to call me Kate!!

he uses it when he can't get my attention or is mad at me now!!

Here is the reverse. At work one of the young girls that works with me has learned that if she can't get my attention using Deb she just yells Ma and gets my attention every time. :rotfl2:

My boys have all called me Deb at one point or another, but just for short periods of time. It passed quickly. They did it with my parents too, calling them by first name instead of Grammy and Papa.

I knew this, though not from personal experience. When we bought our current property there was a large existing building on it that used to house 8 apartments. It was an enormous building that started it's life as a livery stable and for a period of time was know as "The Hollywood Hotel" as it was a brothel. When we tore down the building we found all kinds of interesting things. One that was unbelievable to me was that it had no insulation other then newspapers stuck in the boards here and there with the exception of the old owners room which was fully insulated :confused3 . That was a very long and very disgusting project taking that building down.

EXCELLENT POST PAULA!!!!!!!

(on the autograph thread)

I agree. That definitely cinched it for me. If Walt says it, then it is so. I forgot that it was Walt himself that felt this way. Thanks for reminding me so that I can stop worrying about it and just do what I want!

Thank you.
For those of you who aren't reading that thread, I posted.......

How very interesting.

I believe it was Walt Disney who said the following:

Or heritage and ideals, our code and standards - the things we live by and teach our children - are preserved or diminished by how freely we exchange ideas and feelings.

We believed in our idea - a family park where parents and children could have fun- together.

You can dream, create, design and build the most wonderful place in the world, but it requires people to make the dream a reality.

Your dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway.

I am big on quotes.

I've got to run for a while. I need to give Colby his nap and I'm washing T-shirts that I'm adding transfers to tonight. Nick and Hunter are bowling in the State Bowling tournament on Saturday and Sunday so I had to make shirts for the whole family. They are pretty psyched.
