I think people do studies and present the data in whatever way best suits thier purposes!!

This is so true. It really scares me when I see some of the statistics presented during political battles. In most cases, I can take those statistics and twist them to look even better for the opposite side that they are trying to prove. It concerns me when people start spouting stats like this and just take them as gospel.

Agreed! I got so tired of my mom telling me to do things a certain way because that's how she did it with me and I turned out okay. I finally asked her if she had to have surgery, would she want them to use techniques from 1966 or from 2000? It took several times, but she finally stopped saying that. She has never stopped giving advice, but she is nicer about it!

I couldn't have said it better.

Anybody going to see Ice Age 2 this weekend? I would love to take the kids but with it being so nice I hate to spend the time in a movie theater.

I started a new baby a couple of weeks ago

I had to reread this several times before I realized what you meant. Taken out of context this is really funny! :lmao:

Very true!!! The sad thing is that when people critique you in the beginning you lose confidence. I swear the reason that Carli was a better baby was because I was much more confident w/ her than Kyle. Babies can definetly sense when you are nervous and unsure of what you are doing!!!

It gave me a good laugh to start my day!!!! As I'm sure it will others as they have time to get on today. If they didn't catch it the first time, they'll catch it now! ;)

What - can't I harass her a bit?!!?

Julie - if I see you with her I will send Nick or Julia in for the save!!!!

Amy - am I allowed to tell your family how we met?!?!? Or should we make up a story?!?!

I don't think any of our family knows about our "secret" Dis life...let's make up a story! :teeth:

And you really don't want to socialize with Courtney. She's the WORST! That word disingenuineness is the best adjective to describe her. I guarantee, she'll come up and say "Hi, I'm Courtney, Tom's wife" (If she does, say "Who's Tom?"). She has introduced herself like this to my great-uncle for the past five Christmas Eves!!! He's not senile! She's an idiot. And she's cheap. Last year Alyssa's birthday present was one dress from the Target clearance rack, but she didn't hesitate to send us all the link of their new $350,000 house in Mason (which I have no idea how they can afford anyway) last week. I could go on and on. She makes my blood boil. :furious:

And don't worry Lindsay, she's "way above" Disney, so I never have to worry about her finding out I'm venting about her! ;)

Amy :)

I have to tell you all that I am so unimpressed with American Idol this year -

there is not a single person that impresses me enough to want them to win - that has never happened to me before -

I like Chris until he screamed the whole song on Tuesday - Simon nailed it when he said - you just crossed the line - this is American Idol and that will not appeal to the masses

It will be interesting to see him do country!!

I just downloaded the show and watched it back - OMG I can't believe the bottom three! What on earth was Katherine doing in there?? I have to say that the right girl went though - I knew she was going as soon as she opened her mouth to sing - it was just awful!

I agree that there's not one person I want to win - there have been so many strong contestants in previous years but not this show... I do like Chris but I think he could've picked a different song this week - that was just too Rock.

I'm looking forward to the country week - we should see Kelly in her element and Simon looking very confused! He just doesn't get country... it's just not as big over here, in fact people probably rate classical over country!

Just my 2 cents :teeth:

I can't believe Bucky wasn't in the bottom 3, or that he is still there.

This is what I was afraid of if I did autograph pages for myself. I knew there would be people that wouldn't understand. I guess I just have to get past that and realize that I'm paying just as much (or more) than the kids so I shouldn't feel bad. However, I'm not sure if I'll be able to. Time will tell.

Vicki, don't let those kind of posts bring you down! Kevin and I took 8 trips to Disney before we had Alyssa, and I truly believed we were just as entitled to the character magic as any child. One morning we were eating breakfast at Ohana, and Chip fell in love with my homemade autograph book. He kept sending CMs to come over to our table and look at it, and then when it was time for the parade, he pulled me out of my chair to march around with him. I'm sure there were others annoyed that "I took a child's spot," but it was a magical moment for me. :goodvibes

I'm so happy to hear that everything is ok with Glynis!!!

Clare, I hope that you are feeling much better soon.

Beth

I think we all need to add another thing to our "going out of town list"

1. Cancel the papers
2. Cancel the milk
3. Ask the neighbour to feed the cat
4. Swich off the tv
4. INFORM THE DDA

It just goes to show how much of a family we consider this to be that we worry when someone goes AWOL - I think Glynis will be touched that we all sent out a search party for her.

Kate I think a list of everyone's email or other contact list would be good... but maybe we should have a back up holder, afterall what if you go missing!

On the lurgy front I am having trouble speaking today my chest hurts so much - the doc took one look at me and prescribed antibiotics! That means I'm sick as you have to be pretty much on your death bed over here to get a prescription of antibiotics... didn't actually say what was wrong with me though - I assume it's just a chest infection. He reckons I'll be fixed by Monday HOORAY!!!! :Pinkbounc

It's the best self tanner that I've found for me that goes on evenly and stays on a while. I've not put it on myself -- my DH is a real sweetie and does it for me so it doesn't streak.

Blimey! That's brave - trusting your hubbie with your fake tan! Although mine did used to cut my hair until I had it all chopped off 2 weeks ago {did I tell you all I'd gone short?} hmm... maybe he could have a go at my tan as I use it religeously in the summer as the only way I can tan... when summer arrives I'll get him to have a gov :)

DDA TRIP REPORT

Thursday, May 18

5:00 pm The last thing I remember clearly was arriving at the airport. ...

(wow that was a lot of drinking!!)

Kate -- that was truly brilliant. Thanks for making my day!

Thank goodness!! Now Glynis, you need to let us know these things!!!

How did you find this out? Did she PM you or something?

Feel better, Clare. :wizard:

I found her email address from when I sent out all the autograph pages - she said she has seen her pms but hasn't been able to reply - not sure of the situation I wonder if she has email access but not internet...

Anyway the best news is she's fine and dandy and will be back on Monday

OK, how does this story work. My husband works w/ Kevin and we met from the two of them and have gotten to be friends!!! Do you think they will buy it??? Is it too far fetched??? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Kate, your on your own for your story!!!! I will back you up though ;) !!!

Can you make Courtney wear a name tag??? Can I go up to her and say "Hi, I'm Julie-Dave's ball and chain" :rotfl2: or would she prefer "old lady"??? :rotfl2:

Don't worry Amy, 2 of my SIL's sound alot like her, we should get together and swap stories soon!!! It makes me feel better knowing I'm not alone!!!
