julia & nicks mom said:Jennifer here is my take on the whole bonding with your kid crap:
both of my kids spent the first night of their lives in the nursery - I had c-sections which is why they took Julia and then I asked them to with Nick -
I did not breast feed (I can't)
and I am about as bonded with my kids as a mom can be -
so I never buy into those arguments!!!!!!!
My recovery so that I could take care of them far outweighed a need to bond - have you ever heard someone say - I hate my mom b/c she put me in the nursery at the hospital!!![]()

I totally agree with Kate. My mom was knocked out for my birth and she barely saw me when we were in the hospital. We certainly were able to "bond." My kids are just a little older than Kate's, though, and I had to fight to have them with me all the time and to not be given any sort of bottle in the nursery. There are different experiences and each mom/baby has slightly different needs. I think that they say full rooming in is for "bonding," but I really think it has more to do with their bottom line. If the babies are totally in their mothers' care, there is a smaller need for nursery staffing.

That is SO true!!!
