Hey Marti...

In all of my WDW trips...I have NEVER had a dole whip!!!

Kristine

Ouh - that's like nails on a chalkboard to me! We'll have to take care of that pretty quickly!! I actually prefer the Dole Whip Float - pineapple softserve floating in fresh squeezed pineapple juice. OK - next thing you know - Denise is going to start posting pictures of Chick Fil-A!!!!!

 Oh and I discovered this website where you can plot on a map where you live - thought it would be cool to see whether the DDA have world domination yet :teeth: Here's the link - it opens to the states so you'll have to scroll all the way to the right on the map to see me ;)

http://www.frappr.com/dda

This is really neat. I like seeing everyone graphically!

I just bought our plane tickets for December!!!!!!!!!! We're really going now!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fly in early on Dec 14 and fly out late on Dec 21. Gives us 6 full days in the parks and 2 half days. I'm so excited!

Denise - STILL waiting for the dates of the conference days in December. Big stink over here, big enough that the superintendent has resigned! Hopefully soon, then we can start making our plans!!

We were on page 838 when we left, so I have some catching up to do!!! :teeth:

Of course, Alyssa's birthday party is this Saturday, and we have a ton of things to do yet, so it might take me awhile...and Kevin's not allowed to post pictures until he finishes his "to do" list!!! ;)

Our trip was amazing! While the weather varied (the hottest day was 78, the coolest day 65), we were lucky enough to have NO rain...just one cloudy day.

The photopass CD is the best deal ever, because Alyssa was a photo magnet, and we had over 300 pictures taken in six days (mostly of Alyssa hugging characters).

Kevin got to ride Everest. I did not eat a Dole Whip (sorry Marti!).

Alyssa's absolute favorite attraction was the carrousel (aka the "horsies")...I think we rode that about 6-7 times.

Though it was spring break, crowds were manageable. The only extra magic hours we took advantage of was an evening at AK, but we were at 9 a.m. park openings every day.

We saw every parade and Wishes, but skipped Illuminations and Fantasmic (respecting Alyssa's mood/schedule).

Alyssa's birthday autograph book was a huge success...lots of characters took the extra time to write "Happy Birthday," especially when I mentioned this was her birthday trip (it was written on every page, but they didn't always see it). We got close to 60 autographs, but I was surprised that some of our favorites weren't out and about (Meeko, White Rabbit, and Genie, to name a few).

Kevin's mouse head/name t-shirt design earned us lots of attention, but absolutely no one commented on his other design. Kate's (slightly modified) Little Squirt design got lots of response too, as did Alyssa's two birthday shirts. :)

My Nile crocs were a huge disappointment. Kevin claims I didn't break them in properly, but how can you really prepare for all that WDW walking?!! Anyway, I actually got blisters! But maybe that has something to do with how I walk or my pregnancy? I don't know, but after the first two days, I packed them away.

We rented a minivan and that was awesome. We stayed in the 90's section of Pop, 1st floor, so commuting was a breeze. Mousekeeping left Alyssa 3 towel animals on our first day and Pop also gave her a balloon bouquet with a birthday card from Cinderella (at check in, the CM asked Kevin her favorite character). The only drawback of Pop this time around was we had the LOUDEST next door neighbors...and they were there the entire time we were, so we had seven nights of their loudness. Alyssa slept through their talking/child screaming, but they bothered the heck out of me.

We only had four ADRs (lunch at LTT (yummy!), breakfast at Ohana (Stitch was extremely rushed and we had to wait in line to meet Lilo...they gave Alyssa a birthday certificate and breakfast was tasty), breakfast at 1900 Park Fare (they gave Alyssa a birthday crown, placemat, and cupcake, the food was awesome and the characters were very attentive), and lunch at Garden Grill (they gave Alyssa a whole birthday cake and birthday card signed by all the characters and the characters came around twice and the food was pretty good).

Last night, we also spontaneously ate at 1900 Park Fare, this time for dinner, since we were at the GF inquiring about the gift shop hours to make sure we got our photopass CD before we left. That's our favorite dinner buffet, but Cinderella, Prince Charming, Perla and Suzy were all in a hurry...Fairy Godmother was more attentive in the lobby. And they gave Alyssa another crown, placemat, and cupcake.

We ate lots of counter service: Cosmic Rays, Columbia Harbor House, Pinocchio's Village Haus (Figaro Fries are so yummy!!!), Tusker House, Flame Tree BBQ, Toy Story Pizza Planet, and another one of our favorites, Beaches and Cream!

Okay, that's all I can think of right now, plus Alyssa's show is almost over and Kevin's at City Council, so I need to get this little girl to bed!

Wish me luck with all the birthday "tasks" I have left to do: frost cookies, bake cake, prepare games and treat bags....ACK! So much to do!!!

I promise I'll get caught up as soon as my family leaves this weekend. By the way, my brother's girlfriend had her baby this past weekend, so I'm an aunt to another beautiful niece! :goodvibes

Amy :)

P.S. Thank you Julie for transferring our reward dollars!!!

Wow, it sounds like you all had a wonderful time and glad they did lots of magical things for Alyssa.
Congrats on the new neice too.
We are glad you are back even though you probably aren't!!! :)

Amy - you wore me out just reading your trip report!!

I am so jealous = sounds like you had a great trip report

although I would like to point out to you that if you had paid attention to me before you left - you would have known that you can order the photopass cd when you get home now!! ;)

But not with all the borders and extra stuff that make them special,
you have nothing to be jealous about you are going soon!!! ;)

Ok DDAs... opinions please :)

When do I tell Kyle about our trip? My original plan (without giving it any thought really) was just to pack for him and go.... and he could figure it out whenever. That would be a lot of fun :)

But part of me wants to tell him a bit sooner so he can be excited with me! :teeth: I definitely will wait until a little closer. His med school graduation ceremony (so that they don't have to sit through the big undergrad one at UC) is May 28th; I don't think I'd tell him before that. But even that is so far away! :rotfl:

What do you think? And how should I tell him? :confused3

For me one of the best parts of our trip is the anticipation. We spend a lot of time discussing it. As thrilled as I would be to get a trip out of the blue, I would like a little bit of notice to enjoy that part of it as well. Plus, then you'd be able to share the excitement together.

I envy you because I would never be able to surprise Chuck with a trip. Two reasons: he doesn't like surprises AND I wouldn't be able to keep it to myself.:rotfl:

Tell Kevin to hurry with his to do list because we want pictures! Plus, once the party is over we're going to need pictures of that too. I can't wait to see how your cake turns out and what kind of cookies you make.

It sounds like you had a wonderful trip! I am SO jealous...so much better than our quick birthday trip. Good luck this week and have a great party. Congratulations to your brother.

okay Amy - my apologies!!!!

I just thought that when you see my name you just skim right past it!! ;)

plus - I haven't had anyone to harass this week

Welcome home Amy, Kevin, and Alyssa! And Happy Birthday to the big sis of Little Squirt!

BTW, our 11th Wedding Anniversary is on Saturday. Yes, we were married on April Fools Day and then had triplets. God does, indeed, have a grand sense of humor!

Did you get a good deal??? I am still waiting it out, the current prices out of about 5 different airports still seem too high to me!!!!

YEAH!! Congratulations on the official purchase. I am dying to buy our Oct tickets so that I KNOW everything is set. Of course, just a few more days and I can make my ADRs so that will have to be good for now. (Though I do have to admit that I'm not a big fan of the 180 days yet. It's a little too soon as I feel rushed to then have to wait so long.)

Welcome home! It sounds like you had a great trip! Good luck getting everything done, and I can't wait to see pictures!

As far as the Crocs, I got my first pair just before a Disney trip, and I got blisters too. But later I wore them more at home, and never got blisters again, and love them now. So I wouldn't give up on them completely, but i guess I wouldn't recommend to anyone that they go to Disney with them until they've had a chance to break them in at home.

Congrats on the new baby niece.

Ellen

Kate - Hope little Miss Julia is feeling better soon.

Amy - Welcome home. I don't know where you get the energy from. Your trip sounded fabulous and I can't wait to see the pictures.

Marti - you are making my mouth water for a DW float. Stop it!!
