This kid is out of his mind...he wants to take a laptop, AND his huge desktop computer, a little fridge, etc etc etc...the dorm rooms are the size of my bath room...

Kristine, I can relate to that because my DS who is majoring in Computer Engineering has his laptop, his desktop, and enough parts to build a couple more I think. I can't believe how much stuff he crams into a little room. But he doesn't seem to care if he doesn't have room to move. And I certainly don't know anything, so there would be no reason for him to listen to me!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I just wanted to say thank you to the DIS and the DDA for fueling my Disney addiction, my Diet Coke addiction, allowing me to have a place to celebrate and cry without being judged, and giving me a home away from home. This is a wonderful group of women and men, and I'm proud to be a DDA! I love you all very much.

Now, on to 10,000!

Have you considered doing a neighborhood Easter egg hunt? This is what my sister does. Each family prepares eggs so each child in the neighborhood could find "X" number of eggs. It's kind of a progressive thing. They start at one end of the circle, and hunt in that yard, have a snack or a craft, and then move on to the next house. It's really a cute thing.

For our Easter bonnet parade, we use paper plates and bowls for the hats, and let the kids color and glue and decorate using any craft items we have on hand.

I also have a few Easter movies like "Peter Cottontail", "The Easter Bunny is Coming to Town," and "It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown." For our older kids we have more religious things for them to watch. I spread those out in the days before Easter at bedtime to make it more special. I also go to bookstores and each year I buy one new Easter book (I also do this at Christmas and Halloween), so we have quite a collection of holiday books that only get brought out once a year for the kids to read. Same with the movies. After the holiday they get put away for the year. Makes them more exciting when they get brought out again.

I'll keep trying to think of more things for you today. I'm going to bowling and I can ask the ladies in the league what they do.
I think next year I'll check with some neighbors and see if they want to do an Easter egg hunt. I think that would be fun. He is going to one for school, so I'm happy about that.

I found the Resurrection Eggs. It took a little running around because most places were sold out. I also bought a book that goes along with them, and a more kid-oriented book about Easter.

PM me if you need to talk. I've got lots of experience being a Peds Nurse as well. And if you don't agree with the second opinion, you don't have to accept it. I didn't agree with one of Rees' diagnosis, and now the doctor tells me I was completely RIGHT. Trust your instinct.
Thanks so much. :) I do have a hard time trusting my instincts. I always feel like I'm being "bad" when I question a doctor, not sure why.

It's quiet here. Must be family night for everyone. :thumbsup2
I just wanted to say thanks for help with my avatar too!

I received my Disney catalog today. I swear the designers are coming to this board for ideas. They now have "Disney Couture" and other similar designs that I've seen before...

When I was in college at Kent, my roomate and I learned to "stack" everything. We had a wall of milk crates that became bookshelves, TV holder, storage for CD's and movies... You'd be suprised at how much stuff can fit into a dorm room. Alot of the newer ones though are much bigger now. Kent just had dorms built with a dorm room then connecting door to bathroom then connecting door to another dorm room; wireless access, every 10 rooms has a common room that shares a kitchen area...must be nice.

Well I'm off to cook dinner!

Here is my youngest DD who was very leary of the characters on her first visit back in 2002..she was 2 then. She used to grab her fork in defense when she saw the characters coming!! I didn't have any of her alone as she wouldn't go near the characters alone.

Now she loves to have her picture taken at Disney.

Seriously? You don't have one? I would have NEVER survived them as babies. We did 2-3 loads PER DAY!!!!!! We still have at least 6-7 loads per week between the 5 of us, sheets, towels, etc. Do you go to the laundromat?

Nope! No machines. We don't even have hook ups or I would have bought one. We did go to the laundromat every Sunday for awhile and do it all then. Terra and I would go, put things in the washer, walk to the convenience store, put them in the dryer, go to the diner for breakfast, come back and fold. Plus, we don't have a car so we had to walk the 1/2 mile there. Not a bad thing unless there is 2 feet of snow on the ground like last winter.

A few months ago they raised the rates enough that I decided that it wasn't worth half of our Sundays. Now, we drop it off at the place that washes, dries and folds where we pay per pound. It's a couple of dollars more a week, but so worth it because now we can play all day on Sundays. If we weren't already doing that I would definitely be switching now that I'll be working in the office all day starting Monday.

Now if I had triplets I would have MOVED to a place with a machine! When Terra was a baby I wanted to do cloth diapers, but I just could see walking even across the complex (had some onsite there) to wash diapers daily.

Yes, Soarin is included. EE is coming once it opens regularly and he can see how the patterns work. I'd say that for a Nov trip it will be all there.

Talking about November, I was on the Dis when DH got home yesterday and I said I want to go away for Thanksgiving and he said 'book why are you asking me well go to Disney' so I told hime I wanted to buy AP's for us he laughed and just said 'go for it' so I guess I will take the kids next spring break and DH can come depending on how busy he is!!!

Now that's a good reason to go in December. We'd love to see that. And I can't wait to ride EE. It was on the front page of our Living Section in the Atlanta Journal Wednesday.

They just showed them riding EE on the disney channel

I used to do the weekly jaunts to the laundromat....Grandma said we have to many clothes...we probably do but when you go every week/week and a half you have to have a certain amount of extras!! Plus I hate doing the micro loads that she does all week...so I now do it all on Saturday wastes the entire day. I went last Saturday because I wanted it all done at once and the machines are bigger there...I was so happy 9 loads cost about $16 and I was done in 2 1/2 hours not 12.
