DVC Coffee Snob Thread (non snobs welcome too)

So they better have a dual machine or add a drip machine alongside the Nespresso if they want to switch over.
We agree! I just did a Google search for “Nespresso drip coffeemaker” and was very confused by the results. Best Buy lists a “Nespresso Multiserve” that does pod-free drip coffee, but the description below talks about Braun coffeemakers. Are Braun and Nespresso related somehow?

I see an email to MS in my future….

Darn I was hoping there was no Nespresso drip machines for my own selfishness. I figured Nespresso pods would be too big of an expense TBH. 😭

I don't believe Nespresso makes anything other than a pod based machine. They do make one with a steam wand for milk but still single serve I "think".

I also agree with you that their pods are pricier than keurig so it would be surprising.

Ninja makes a dual-type coffee maker that incorporates Nespresso pods and a regular drip coffee machine.

But I'm fairly sure that machine isn't authorized by Nespresso, so I think Disney would be a little afraid to list a "Nespresso machine" - with the brand name - on the resort amenity list if they were actually using a knock-off machine.

I just got back last week and no Nespresso yet - but when looking at the 'amenities' list on the DVC resort page, all of the resorts I looked at, and all room categories including studio, 1, 2, and 3 bedrooms, they do show 'Nespresso machine' rather than Keurig or coffee pot/maker. It seems to be a very recent edit and not what's actually at the resorts at this time - so either a typo, or a future plan that they'll be working on changing over. With studios and hotel rooms, Nespresso or just a Keurig pod maker seems fine, but for multi-room villas, I would think a coffee drip maker still needs to be offered, both for the cost effectiveness of making a pot of coffee for 2-4 people to enjoy multiple cups, as well as for the convenience/annoyance of having to go through 4-6 pods each morning. And if Disney is supplying Nespresso pods for every room, that would seemingly be very expensive on their end.

Nespresso pods are more expensive than Keurig pods, which are already a lot more expensive than buying a can of coffee and brewing your own - even buying fresh beans and doing my own grinding still comes out cheaper and higher quality and flavor - I'll pre-grind 4-5 days worth and bring it with me in a coffee can - and each morning I can brew a pot, fill up my oversize mug which would require 2 pods at a time to fill, and everyone can pour multiple cups instantly without waiting for another pod (or two for large cups) to brew.

I sent MS an email this morning via the member website, inquiring about the "Nespresso coffee makers" listed. Hopefully we'll get word from them about what's going on. As above, I suspect they're switching over from one brand to another, but I find it odd that they'd specify a brand unless they want people to know not to bring their own Keurig cups!

Thank you. Cant wait to hear what they say.

Also looking forward to hearing what they say! Nespresso pods are at least twice the cost of k-cups, I wonder if Nespresso (owned by Nestle) is giving them a deal? They just put in a lot of the new Keurig machines, I'm surprised they would make the change so soon. Who knows, maybe Nespresso is hoping people will buy their machines after trying them at Disney!?!?
