The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 4

ANyone out there have any thought on POR? Is it nice? How's the transportation? Is it really spread out?

I absolutely love POR. Yes, it is spread out. For us, we like that. There are 4 bus stops. We stay in Alligator Bayou building 38 and it is close to the North Depot. We love the walk to the counter service restaurant. We walk across Old Man Island by the pool sometimes and in front of the other Alligator Bayou buildings others along the water. There is a beautiful walk down to the French Quarter. We go the first week in March which is a moderate time at Disney. Sometimes the bus is empty while others we have to stand. If you have any specific questions, let me know.

Darn, darn, darn. All you youngin's are killing me! BTW, I graduated in '87 from HS and '91 college. I'm a totaly rad product of the 80's, dude.

It's so sad. Other than super freak, I don't recognize any of those songs. I graduated HS in '79 and college in '91.

Yes, I did! But actually, I enjoyed reading every comment. You guys are too funny!

However, you missed some of "my" movies. Grease and Star Wars (the original). They both came out when I was in high school. Star Wars was awesome. I don't think anyone that wasn't a teen when it came out could truly understand it's impact. It was so different than anything before. So real!!! We have been watching reruns of TV shows and other movies from when we were kids and they are so lame. Anything with singing & dancing is a favorite of mine.

And Kate ... I was only a young mother when Pretty Woman came out but I had a problem with so many young girls idolizing a hooker. Old fogey that I am!!!!! I loved the story line but kept wishing they had not made her a hooker.

You scan the original. I am going to find and scan a couple of mine once I get caught up. We just got a great color printer/scanner for this reason. I have so many pictures that I want to get digitally and don't want to pay someone else to do it. You can also get it done at WalMart or other places like that.

Here ends my P3. You guys were definitely very chatty last night and I'm jealous! One of these days, I'm going to stay up late and I'll get to be in one of these fabulous posting parties. I'm off to scan some pictures (just wait until you see some mid-70's cheerleading and basketball uniforms) and clean my office. I'll be checking in occassionally as I make progress. Congrats, Becky, on getting the Asst. Mgr. position!!! Will you be able to go back to just one position?

I'm still deciding on whether or not I will go back to the one position. I am thinking I probably will just go back to the one position. The extra money is nice and the stress is not. I will probably be handing my notice in at the other place sometime soon.

We also hired a part timer at the place where I am asst. manager. Since there is more staff there I now have more time to look elsewhere. Plus my manager will have more staff to work with if I would find another job she will not have so many issues with staffing.

Ever since I started there she has known I am looking elsewhere. Sometimes the search has been greater than at other times. Reccently working all my hours I have not had enough time to look yet alone set up intereviews if they called to set them up.

If your knee is ever bothering you - be prepared that going to see a man that is going to move it every which way, push it, poke it, prod it and make you stand in uncomfortable stances to get the perfect x-ray - will make it hurt!!

I have been on the couch all night - it is killing me tonight!!!

That is the way I felt the three times I have had to had my knee(s) xrayed. Your doc is right, strengthen it up....having it buckle on stairs is horrrrrrrrible...personal experience talking.

Morning, everyone. Yes, it is early and I haven't had any sleep. Quit DISing, and 30 minutes later BK was up. Then Rees... then Davis... then BK again... Now they're asleep and I'm wide awake. So, I figured I'd DIS again.

Oh, and the fact that I'm having an absolute panic attack over changing to Sept and the kids missing 5 days of school is NOT helping... I really am freaking out. Should I switch it back to December so they don't miss any school? Geez, I'm so wishy washy. I wish someone else could make these decisions.

Ooh, an old Humphrey Bogart movie just came on TV. At least I have something to watch now.

Becky - I am SO JEALOUS of you!!! Back to Magic Cruises - at first I thought you meant Wonder and then I realized you meant 14 days of cruising!!

That will be awesome and think of how many t-shirts you will need!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes it is back to back Magic cruises. 14 days of cruising. It is going to be my brother and I.

It started out as wanting to go on one of the 10 or 11 day Mediterranean Disney cruises. Well they ended up being more expensive than the 14 day repo cruises. We talked about doing the westbound repositioning cruise to return the ship to Port Canaveral. But pricing that out got so expensive with flying to Barcelona and transportation over there. Plus we didn't really care for all of the ports.

I said I would have rather done a Panama repo. We looked into those on other cruise lines, but no one has them out for 2007 yet. Eventually we said about doing a back 2 back cruise. That is what we decided on doing. We are doing a 7 day western caribbean and a 7 day eastern caribbean cruise.

Plus if I can't get all 14 days off depending on what job I am doing till then we can cancel half of the cruise and still have a deccent vacation.

Me too! I can't even find anyone from the DIS that lives in the UP. I posted on the Welcome to the DIS board and there wasn't one person that lives in the UP that responded. There was one that is from the UP but now lives in California but what good does that do me!!!

How far did you say you were from Chicago? There are a few of us in Illinois
