Elizabeth, yes please let me know what you think of CP at lunch. Like I said we are not breakfast people and the lunch menu sound very good.

Tammi - Thanksgiving actually doesn't look TOO bad to us, either. But of course if we wanted to go during that week DH wouldn't be able to get off from work. Having those days this year was really just a fluke.

Heidi - DS has an orthodontist appt. today but hopefully he will get his order before DH picks him up. If he does get them today Princess and I can run to the post office tomorrow.:)

DS told me this morning that he looks ugly now.:guilty: I bought a tube of Neosporin - the pharmacist said that is the best thing. If we need to we can start using Mederma after it heals a little bit. I hope none of the other kids said anything terrible to him today.:headache:

Target has the "Nightmare Before Christmas" game for Game Boy Advance on clearance for $7.50. I bought it when it was $10.50. I have no clue what I did with the receipt so I guess I won't be getting my $3 back! It is for DS to take on the plane so it hasn't been opened.

Ross has boys' Nike hooded fleece pullovers for $15. They had navy, light blue, and orange. I thought about getting all 3, but since I already got sweatshirts from the Disney Store I just bought the light blue one. I also bought a Samsonite camera case for DH for $7. He probably won't like it, but I figured it was worth a shot.

I have thought about Thanksgiving as well. The kids have off that entire week...

what made you decide not to declaw your cat (you had mentioned deciding against it)

So does anyone have an advent calendar? I don't have one but saw a cute idea on the budget board. About activities to do.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my car. It handles like a dream. Chuckie loves it too.
Congratulations on your new ride!

Arabella just scratched DS the entire length of his face on one side.:sad2: For some reason she was in the bathrrom with him while he was brushing his teeth and she swatted at him when he leaned over. Really, I must have been smoking crack when I decided not to declaw her. That has to be one of the WORST decisions I have ever made.
Oh the poor kid! Can you still get her declawed?

I was wondering how today went.  Please, just be kind to yourself. You have permission to fall apart. It's okay. My friend who lost her husband on Father's Day cries everyday. It helps. My friend who lost her mother the day before Mother's Day, still has trouble sleeping. Her mom was 92.

What I am trying to say so clumsily is, there is no shortcut to feeling good. My mom's been gone for 1,890 days. That speaks volumes.

Tomorrow I go to Disney. Little Man has never been to Disney. His grandmother would have loved to have met him and be the one to take him to Disney. She departed this world about 17 years ago. Her son named his son for her, I'm the grandma standin.

I must go to the hair stylist this monring. Pick up my DGD's alterations at 3. Finish packing and get going!

In 35 hours I'll be at Disney. I go to Disney tomorrow.
Stephanie,
Very well said. My uncle who raised me as his own & who was very dear to my heart died 5 weeks after Katie was born. It will be 12 years that he is gone this January. I was so happy to have a grandbaby for him but he never came out of his coma to see her alive. To this day when I think about him I start to tear up. I miss him every day. He did so much for me when I was a kid & I don't know where I would have ended up if it wasn't for him. He has my eternal gratitude, respect, & love. I just wish my kids got to meet him.

In the words of our beloved Stephanie.......

10 MORE DAYS PEOPLE, 10 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!
Horray for everyone going to Disney you lucky ducks!

I just now made a lunch ADR for the CP on Jan. 16th at 1:00
Cool, I think you won't be dissapointed.

Hi DDA!

I went five days cold turkey without the computer while we were in Huron, and I've pretty much sworn off the computer since our return, because

WE LEAVE FOR DISNEY TOMORROW!!!
:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

I just called and confirmed all of my ADRs. They are still there!
Good!!!:thumbsup2

my kids all wanted a chocolate advent calendar this year...hopefully I can restrain Bill :rotfl2:

1 year, Christopher opened ALL of the doors right away...apparently the suspense was killing him:)

/
I did some major shopping at the Disney Store today..not at mine, its a very small store. I went to one at a large mall about 15 miles away & they had everything!!!! I finished up shopping for my neices & nephews & some things for my kids.

They have a promo going..spend $40 & you get a mickey picture frame. It ecru with golden mickey swirls on it. I had some much I split up my orders so I could get 2.

I was thinking about Thanksgiving next year as well instead of August because I really want to see the castle lights. I am nuts I know..its not too bad crowd wise in August & the kids would not miss any school. I would be crazy to switch to Thanksgiving...............................................................................................................................................................................................Right?????:confused3

You are not crazy at all!!!! Christmas is such a wonderful time to be there. Your kids really need to experience it!! You know you want to.....;) :rotfl: :rolleyes1

So does anyone have an advent calendar? I don't have one but saw a cute idea on the budget board. About activities to do.

We have one that we bought from my friend who is an amazing quilter...but it is hiding in a Christmas box that I can't find:headache:

We do one, but not the kind that has candy or gifts. Just one where you open up little windows and there are pictures behind them. I have a Disney one that we will be doing this year. I'm anxious to see what's behind all the windows.

We didn't declaw her because I read a bunch of literature on how declawing is cruel, it chops off the cat's toes back to the first knuckle, it changes the way their stance is and because it shifts the way their weight is distributed it can cause joint pain, it can cause behavioral problems, blah blah blah. DH wanted her declawed. All of our cats have been declawed. But NO, I wanted her to keep her claws.:sad2: I am an idiot.
It is still possible to declaw her, but since she is 9 months old it would honestly be a very cruel thing to do. If you are going to declaw a cat it should be done when they are very young. We had Aurora spayed and declawed all at one time and it was fine. Same with Amanda. We had Arabella spayed when she was about 3-4 months, and she should have been declawed then. She has shredded one corner of the ottoman, snagged the heck out of my dust ruffle, comforter, and tablecloth, and she has little to no interest in her scratching post. I keep hoping as she gets older it will get better.

DS had a Lego advent calendar one year. Each day had a little toy to put together. I bought it for him at the bookstore, and after he started opening the little doors I found out that they were in super-high demand and I could have sold it for a ton of money on eBay. Oh, well. He had fun with it.:goodvibes

Anne Marie - You would be crazy to SWITCH to Thanksgiving. You should ADD a trip at Thanksgiving.;)
Your picture frame sounds adorable! I might have to go check those out!

DH found out today that my theory on how many drivers can be out each week was right! The supervisor told him there are so many drivers with so much seniority that they have had to add more slots to the weeks that aren't blacked out! But whether or not this will actually help us remains to be seen. :rolleyes1 I asked him if he told her we already have our week picked out. He said he mentioned to her that I won't have more vacation until after June 25 so we are really kind of crunched on weeks where DS is out of school. She said she will try to work with him. I hope so!

Hello, DDA!

I've popped in a few times, but something always seems to pull me away from the computer almost as soon as I sit down. I think I actually have 45 minutes to myself right now! (Now, I know that I should be doing other things...)

I'm trying to remember what I have read.

Jennifer, . I am so sorry about your grandfather's death. Please don't feel like you shouldn't be mourning or aren't allowed to talk about it. It is so hard to say goodbye to someone that you love and to know that they will not be physically in your life any more. I've been teary about my grandmother lately, and next month it will be 16 years since she died. There are days that I miss my aunt so strongly that I can barely stand it, and it has been almost 10 years.

Jennifer, I can't remember if I told you how happy I was to hear about your ultrasound! You are going to be a wonderful mother. I am sorry to hear about your trip to your inlaws, and I hope that your dog is none the worse for that experience.

Terry, I love the new car! Congrats!

Stephanie and Amy, I hope that you have terrific trips!!

Kristine, it's been great having you back around a lot.

Anne Marie, CONGRATS to the girls!

Elizabeth, I'm sorry to hear about ds's cat scratch. I have a slight scar across my nose from one of my little darlings. It wasn't entirely my cat's fault, and it wasn't entirely mine. I hope that your ds doesn't scar and that no one is teasing him about it.

Tom, you did a great job on Shocker's photo. Also, how can I find you on Evil-bay. I don't go out there much. I have tried to search, but the only search I found located items, not sellers. Is there somewhere else to look?

I know that there is more, but I can't think right now. I'll start reading backwards to see if anything jogs my memory.

Beth

ere did you find the disney one?

I like the idea of doing different christmas related activites

here are the ones I copied
Sleep by the christmas tree (like camping inside)
Decorate GingerBread Cookies
Breakfast for Dinner
Read a christmas story by the fire place
Drive around and look at holiday lights
Play a board game by the light of the tree
Picnic by the tree
Make ornaments
Make bird feed ornaments for trees outside
Dance contest to holiday music
Mommy taking DS shopping for Daddys present
(At the Dollar store of course!)
Daddy taking DS shopping for Mommys present
(At the Dollar store of course!)
If your kids still believe in Santa, why not add towards the end, a make cookies for Santa and food for Reindeer night. For the reindeer food, all you do is mix quick oats with some glitter.. can even add some seeds (like sunflower - something the birds would eat). Then on Christmas Eve, toss it out on the lawn for the reindeer. The glitter helps them see it.

I thought this said Panic by the Christmas tree:rotfl:

I see Lego has a 2007 version of the advent calendar! I see it is more expensive than the one a few years back!:rotfl2: Ours was about $17.99. They are up to $24.99.

Jennifer- That is a neat idea to do a little activity each day! Of course since we are treeless this year some of those would be tricky!;)
