Hold on to your hats when I tell ya this one . . . . . .

We're talking about staying off property on our next trip, and adding in Universal and Sea World!!!!

Our next trip will probably be a trip for the whole family, at least six of us, possibly seven, and we are looking into renting a private home for a week, which we could do for under $1000. Has anyone ever done this?

I'm about 30 pages behind, but I really need to post right now.

I found out this morning that my grandmother passed away at midnight. I'm ok, but a little sad. She was 97 years old, so she lived a good, long life. Her husband died 17 years ago, and she has been anxiously waiting to be with him again. She has lived in a nursing home for the last 6 years, and has hated every minute of it. She hated losing her independence. During the last year, her mind started to wander, and she had trouble recognizing people. She did recognize my mother and my aunt, but no one else. The last 6 months, she kept talking about grandpa, and how angry she was that he was so late to "pick her up." I know she's thrilled to be with him again. She has been totally bedridden for the last 4 months, and has had to deal with bedsores, etc. Not a good quality of life. So, I'm very happy for her. Sad for me and my kids, but happy for her.

I just wanted to let you know that I may be offline for a while since the funeral will probably be Friday. Not sure where or when, but we're ready to leave at a moment's notice.

Thanks for being there for me! I really appreciate your support and prayers at this time.

Back to my regularly scheduled catch up!

Ack!:scared: I do NOT like eggnog. I bought some yesterday because DH had mentioned it. I bought the big container, not the small one. I just tasted it and I don't like it. At all.

I looked up a few recipes for cookies, cake, and pancakes so hopefully I can use it up without drinking anymore straight.

Alan doesn't like it straight. He cuts it by mixing it with Sprite. He says it's better that way.

Glynis,

I am very sorry for the loss of your Grandmother.

Have never done this, but this is what Gary wanted to do in the past. The homes look really nice & if you have a vehicle I see no problems with it. I hope to get another trip in to US sometime in the future & I have never been to Sea World. Guess I need to step out of the box a little lol

I am so sorry for your loss Glynis, but so glad Grandpa finally made it to pick Grandma up. She must be over the moon.

I imagine that she was thrilled to see him, but gave him an earful on his tardiness! Thanks for your condolences!

We rented a house for our half marathon trip last January. It was FABULOUS!!! If we ever go back, that will be the way we will do it. We were literally, 10 minutes away from the MK, and pretty close to US. We didn't go there, though, as it was a strictly Disney trip for us! The house was really nice, too. We had a king size bed in our room with a private bath, another room with a queen size bed and a private bath (Alan's sister stayed in that room), then 2 rooms with 2 twin beds in each and a bath in between the rooms. There was a large living room with attached kitchen and dining room, and we also had a pool and jacuzzi! It was heaven!!!!

Clare and Lee did it often before purchasing DVC. I'll let her know you are inquiring :)
