The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 31

I'm off for the night, as far as I know. I finally tried to start "decorating" yesterday, although all I accomplished was pulling all of the (many!) boxes up from the basement. Today, I thought I'd finish. Well, I have, um, emptied the boxes! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Our mantle looks about right, and I have a few things put out that were easy to do (read: I remember where the heck they went, or at least found a comparable spot!)

I'm absolutely exhausted though.... tomorrow is the ultrasound! It better give me a darn good reason (or 2! ;)) for not being able to accomplish squat anymore! :rotfl:

I'll try to post fairly quickly after the u/s. I appreciate your prayers... I'm getting awfully anxious!

Have a wonderful night, DDA!

I'm about 30 pages behind, but I really need to post right now.

I found out this morning that my grandmother passed away at midnight. I'm ok, but a little sad. She was 97 years old, so she lived a good, long life. Her husband died 17 years ago, and she has been anxiously waiting to be with him again. She has lived in a nursing home for the last 6 years, and has hated every minute of it. She hated losing her independence. During the last year, her mind started to wander, and she had trouble recognizing people. She did recognize my mother and my aunt, but no one else. The last 6 months, she kept talking about grandpa, and how angry she was that he was so late to "pick her up." I know she's thrilled to be with him again. She has been totally bedridden for the last 4 months, and has had to deal with bedsores, etc. Not a good quality of life. So, I'm very happy for her. Sad for me and my kids, but happy for her.

I just wanted to let you know that I may be offline for a while since the funeral will probably be Friday. Not sure where or when, but we're ready to leave at a moment's notice.

Thanks for being there for me! I really appreciate your support and prayers at this time.

Back to my regularly scheduled catch up!

ONE MONTH FROM TODAY WE WILL BE AT DISNEY :dance3: :yay: :cool1: :cheer2: :woohoo:
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Hold on to your hats when I tell ya this one . . . . . .

We're talking about staying off property on our next trip, and adding in Universal and Sea World!!!!

Our next trip will probably be a trip for the whole family, at least six of us, possibly seven, and we are looking into renting a private home for a week, which we could do for under $1000. Has anyone ever done this?
:scared1:

I actually understand how this would be an attractive option.

Alan doesn't like it straight. He cuts it by mixing it with Sprite. He says it's better that way.
 eeewwww:laughing:

Good luck tomorrow, Jennifer!! I can't wait to hear the results.

Jennifer I am so excited for you, I can't wait for you to post tomorrow!

Please tell me if this is a crazy Idea  I was going to place an order with Garden Grocer. With Staples having free shipping I am going to order the water through them(worked great for the Oct. trip!). I will buy milk at the resort, so that leaves Gary's Mt. Dew. I was thinking of putting his soda in a smaller piece of luggage & checking it. Then I could use that extra piece of luggage for the trip home for our Christmas decorations & any extra items I may have accumulated. I plan on shipping our decorations before we leave, so this would eliminate having to ship it back home. So what do you think?

Jennifer,

I can't wait for the results!! Just take it one decoration at a time and by Christmas you should be done! ;) :rotfl:

Just be careful when you open it! :scared:

So Robyn, what did you decide about moving your trip?

I just got off the phone with Amex. I got my statement today and they still hadn't transfered any points. I called and they said they didn't have my JetBlue TrueBlue number. I said it was on the application and why hadn't they asked me for it the last 3 months that I've called. She said she'd take it and my points would be transferred in 6 to 8 weeks.:headache: I asked for a supervisor who put me on hold forever but eventually transfered my 72 points. It only takes 100 for a free roundtrip ticket. With the awards points from flying they issued an award voucher-that I have to use by 11/20/08 and I still have a balance of 40 points. I should earn enough on my Jan & May flights and any new purchases so that I can have another free ticket for our August trip.

The nice thing is that the awards tickets are not really a round trip ticket but rather 2 one way tickets so you can pick the more expensive leg to use the award vouchers on.

Hopefully using the award vouchers will be as easy as it seems.

Thanks Theresa!!!

I would hope that you would wrap the Mt Dew in plastic. I wouldn't be happy with you if it broke in flight and my luggage got all covered in Mt Dew.

Sorry I didn't answer you about the milk at the Poly. They must have it. I always stayed concierge there so I wasn't buying milk in the food court. Also Captain Jacks has been redone since I stayed at the Poly. It looks a lot nicer than when I was there.

For what it is worth.....I had great service from garden grocer. I know there have been complaints but most of those are from folks trying to make changes to their order.

So Robyn, what did you decide about moving your trip?
I want to know too.

I was hoping to do some more on my TR but I really need to go to bed. I was real achey all day so I'm thinking I may have more than an old cold.

I promised a neighbor that I would take her to an early train in the morning so I have to leave the house about 2 hours earlier than I normally would. So going to bed early is a good idea.

Tammi tell Alyssa she is welcome.

Also tell her that I love the Ornament that you guys sent Virginia.
