Do any of you know anything about guitars? I dabbled a teeny bit in high school and wanted one then already, but never got one because well there just wasn't time for another thing such as guitar. Many other things occupied my time.

Well I would like to get a guitar some point in the near future and learn to play. I am leaning toward learning acoustical first and then perhaps electric but may want to learn electric first and then acoustic. But am not sure yet. Does anyone have a thought as to which to start on?

Does anyone have any recommendations on specific guitars? The Martin museum and factory is about a half an hour away from where I work. I might stop in one day for the free tour and museum. I have had a few people recommend the Seagull S6 as an acoustic option, it seems to have lots of good reviews.

The best price would probably be online but then again each instrument within the same series sounds differently. I'm looking to spend under $500, would prefer less then that but don't want a junk instrument that won't tune and frustrate me.

My big issue is I don't remember enough to test play the guitars myself and I can't think of anyone off the top of my head who plays enough to have a qualified opinion. I would like to take lessons but I do not have a set time each week that I could do so and most places around here require a set time every week or you just cancel. Definitely not conducive to my schedule. I probably know enough about music to teach myself but I know that some things are much better when you have someone else teach you.

Sorry for my rambling. Any thoughts, opinions, or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I wondered that myself.

OOh I love a good quiz - will try it later - It's Muppets 4d as stuff happens outside the 3d screen - like the grumpy old men and the water and what's his name running around the audience :thumbsup2

ETA: I got 11/20 - although I guessed a few! That was difficult :teeth:

Last year, the little boy gave Emma a Valentine's gift. At first, I had no idea and was sort of shocked (box of chocolates, a stuff animal and a real valentine card) but I found out from the little boys mom that he wanted to do something special for Emma since she was so nice to him.

How sweet! You really are lucky... it sounds like Emma is doing wonderfully, both in school and with just being kind to her classmates! Good job mom and dad! :)

Thanks, Terry.

She did have some wonderful stories to tell. Luckily, between my mom, her sister, and some of the rest of us, most of her stories are down on paper. And yes, I'm sure she had the last word! Knowing my grandpa, he just smiled and let her go on. She was the love of his life, and I know he's missed her just as much as she missed him.

Glynis, this made me tear up. I'm sure you are right, and I hope picturing this reunion brings some comfort to your family!

The other 2 pieces of our entertainment center came today so I spent the afternoon assembling them. There were a few flaws, but I managed to hide them well or fix them. I really like the look of it. I think it will go well with the antique china cabinet that I still need to refinish. We have a lot of oak furniture in our house and the new flooring is also an oak finish.

I took Colby to Kmart and had his picture taken this morning. Oddly enough the very first shot is the one that I liked the best. I can pick them up on Dec 7.

After erecting the furniture today I started to put stuff into them. I moved the Crystal photo cubes of the boys into one cabinet. I left the room for a few minutes and Colby managed to drop 2 of the cubes, completely shattering his and taking a big chunk out of Hunter's. I am truly devasted as they are my all time favorite WDW souvenirs. It isn't like I can go back in time to have one made of my baby, he's 5 now afterall. I'm tempted to call Disney to see if they keep the photos on file as I would love to order 2 more. I somehow doubt that they would have the files from 4 years ago :sad1:

Oh no! :( I'm so sorry!

As usual, I can't sleep! :headache: I'm off to get ready for work, although I wanted to mosey in around 8 so I could rush around there for an hour and make the time fly by before it was time to leave. Oh, well!

Have a great day!

I missed this one too!! Ditto :goodvibes

Oh Elizabeth thanks for the tip on blowing in Lucy's face when we give her the medicine. It works like a charm!!

I tried to give DS some cold medicine but every single thing in his cabinet was at least a year out of date so that was that!

I'm glad you are having better luck with Lucy's meds!:)

Oh, MY! 10" is DEEP! That's more snow than we see over several years!

Thanks Karen! Exactly :goodvibes

I did read that article in Parade and obviously thought of us!:goodvibes

Must be in the air. Katie came home and told me that she's getting a C in math and language arts!!! I'm flabbergasted. At midterm, she was doing very well. All A's. Her problem??? NOT TURNING IN HER WORK! Guess what she's doing now??? Yup. Doing the work. She said, "but report cards are already printed." Well, too bad!!! Maybe next term she'll take some responsibility!

I hope Katie & Abi get their work turned in next marking period! DS had one missing assignment in Science, but the teacher wasn't posting grades on a regular basis so by the time I caught the zero so much time had passed that DS has NO CLUE what happened.:sad2: I keep checking to see if the site has been updated since Friday was the end of the 6 weeks. The teachers had to work yesterday and today but no new grades have been entered.

Oh Deb I am so sorry to hear this :sad1:

Deb, good luck getting your photo cube duplicated! I wonder if you bring them a photo if they can make a cube from that image?

I am WIDE awake. The neighbor was knocking again about 3 AM. Just 5 knocks. Then several more about 20 minutes later. It HAS to be the lady directly below us because the apt. beside us and the one below that are empty. I was tempted to knock back at her, but I didn't.:rolleyes1

I will be thinking about you this morning, Jennifer!! Hopefully I can pop in and check for updates. I am not sure what DS and Princess are doing today. We might go to Chuck E. Cheese right when they open, play a bit, have an early lunch, then take Princess home for a nap. Good luck!!:wizard:

Hey Tammi, the DVC Merry Member Mixer is posted on the dvcmember site. It is scheduled on Dec. 6, 13, 20, and 27 from 3-5pm. Chuck & I will be there as long as our flight is on time.
Ok, we'll plan on being there too. Sounds fun!

Oh no, how sad. :wizard: that you can get a replacement. Maybe they can make one with an old photograph? :confused3

I still have to get a tree for my desk. I had a small one but somehow I think it got thrown out. That or it is out gallivanting with Elin's tree somewhere.:rolleyes1 I hope they're not doing the tree tango somewhere.

:rotfl: NEVER admit you might have thrown out that tree! They are most certainly doing a Christmas Tree Tango somewhere... maybe in WDW while waiting for us to arrive. ;)

Oh, Deb... I bet Colby also feels badly now. If Disney doesn't keep the photos, would they accept one from you to use? I know it is more of a 3-D thing, though, right? Maybe that wouldn't work... I am so sorry.

Good morning all--all caught up and headed t o work.

Deb-im so sorry to hear about the cubes breaking..hope you can find a way to get a new one!

Jennifer--good luck today

I did read more but cant remember ! So hugs to everyone!

Have a great day all--ill be working then headed back to the shore so be home tonight sometime!

Glynis -- I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandmother. Sending prayers of Peace for the family.

Jen -- sending more prayers to you for your Grandpa.

Elizabeth -- I hope you and your DS are feeling better. Today is Grandparents day at Shelton. Randy is going with my Dad. I'm glad -- I don't know if I could have gone yet. Mom always loved to go and was so proud of how well they were doing, despite the learning problems.

Deb -- sorry about the cubes. I would call them -- it might be a longshot, but worth the call.

One of my admins had asked off yesterday and the other one came in sick, so I immediately sent him home. I'm glad this week is a little slower with a lot of clients taking the time off, as I was trying to do three jobs, and not very well. I also figured out I'm too old to get up at 4:45 and get home from work at 8 p.m. It looks like it will be another very long day.

I hope everyone has a great day! Sending PD to all those who are sick or who are traveling. :)

I don't have one, but I just bought 2 of them (6 inch) for my siblings and their families for Christmas. I also purchased 1 GB cards to put all the photos from our October WDW trip on. Hopefully I will find the time to do it now!!

How do you like the 6" size? Would is look good on a table with primarily 5x7 frames?

Getting the pictures on will be my problem too. I can't get the ones from my aunt until we get to OK and go to her house on the 23rd. We'd like to have Granny open it that day as it's the only one we'll be all together. However, I won't have any pictures ready on it. Plus, we've got 2 family Christmases, 1 wedding and the promised help to get ready for the wedding between then and the 26th. Maybe I'll load a small card (or the frame if it has some memory) with the pictures that I do have and load the card at home after Christmas. Otherwise, I'm forseeing a lot of time standing at the scanning machine at the Super Wal-Mart.

Hmm, one of those questions just doesn't seem right to me - I'm going to have to check on it. Also seems quite outdated, since it talks of E-Ride Nights (I remember those fondly!).

I got 11/20. There were a few that I changed my mind on, and my initial thought was correct.

I did the same thing and changed at least 2 that would have been right. 12/20 for me.

I'm about 30 pages behind, but I really need to post right now.

I found out this morning that my grandmother passed away at midnight. I'm ok, but a little sad. She was 97 years old, so she lived a good, long life. Her husband died 17 years ago, and she has been anxiously waiting to be with him again. She has lived in a nursing home for the last 6 years, and has hated every minute of it. She hated losing her independence. During the last year, her mind started to wander, and she had trouble recognizing people. She did recognize my mother and my aunt, but no one else. The last 6 months, she kept talking about grandpa, and how angry she was that he was so late to "pick her up." I know she's thrilled to be with him again. She has been totally bedridden for the last 4 months, and has had to deal with bedsores, etc. Not a good quality of life. So, I'm very happy for her. Sad for me and my kids, but happy for her.

I just wanted to let you know that I may be offline for a while since the funeral will probably be Friday. Not sure where or when, but we're ready to leave at a moment's notice.

Thanks for being there for me! I really appreciate your support and prayers at this time.

Back to my regularly scheduled catch up!

I'm sorry to hear of your grandmother, Glynis, but I know it was for the best. We all know that my Meme felt the same way about being with Papa again and in that our loss was a little less sad. :grouphug:

I thought I would post some pictures from our Vegas trip. This is our room:
