I will keep the 9th - 14th in mind for next year. My boys would love to meet some of the DDA kids! Of course I would love the chance to meet up with you all again as well :goodvibes

We will be in Orlando late in the day on the 14th through the 19th.

I've been wondering about your ticker. Is the wording choice to keep it a secret from the boys?

:thumbsup2 Exactly :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

There are a couple that I am looking at, I wish we had places here at home that accepted these! The code is "TREATS" & expires Oct. 31st for anyone interested.
If you buy more than one, set up two accounts. (You didn't hear this from me.) When I printed my last one out, it stated only one certificate could be used in a month.

I sure hope you are feeling better Tia!!!

What a day. I pulled myself out of bed, threw on some clothes and went to work to find the $88,000 my financials were off. I sat at my desk with the heating pad to my face. I was in excuriating pain. I found the error, printed my financials, printed my timesheet and came home. I called my doctor every hour to ask for help. The receptionist kept saying someone would call me back.

I got home and put on a pot of chicken soup and called the doctor again. Finally, I drove to the doctor and sat in the waiting room until someone would help me.

The doctor told me to trash the second round of antibiotics, and gave me a script for new antibiotics and steriods.  The nurse even called the pharmacy, so the drugs would be ready as I drove home.

I called my coworker, who has to finish payroll tomorrow. She said, now don't come in, I think you should rest. And I said okay. And she said, really, if I have any questions, I'll just call you. You need to rest, I'll be okay. And I said okay, I'm not arguing with you. So then she told me, you know you really looked terrible today. And I said yeah I know, the patient next to me said, you really look like he ll.

So yes folks. I'm down for the count. My face is so swollen and the pain is still in the 5-6 out of 10 range. I have to put the finishing touches on my budget that I need to present to the committee on Wednesday. So come heck or high water, I will be there on Wednesday.

But tonight, I will get back to bed.

Oh Stephanie, I am so sorry that you aren't doing any better. I hope that the new meds have you well on the mend today. Please, please, please rest up and do your best not to move out of your bed/chair. I really think that helped me, though I wasn't as bad off as you I don't think. Loads of :wizard: that you can make your meeting on Wednesday and actually feel like being there. :grouphug:

Let me know what they get in, Garrett is wanting a JS winter hat. I bought him one last year & it is nowhere to be found :sad2: I am looking for fleece hoodies for the boys & myself as well. Do you feel like my personal shopper :rotfl:

Have a good day at work!

Off to work! We just got in scarves, hats, & gloves at the store yesterday...I am not ready for the cold just yet! Last week I was sticking ice cubes in my bra at Epcot! (ok, TMI, I know!):lmao:

It did help though :rotfl:

Good morning, DDA!!

Marci - Happy anniversary!

Deb - Love the MNSSHP costume idea. Very simple, but fun and creative.

Elin - I hope that your tooth is feeling better.

Terry - Good luck with your back. I hope the doctor can help.

They announced the new Studios logo yesterday. I really like it!

Well, I am finally feeling better today. Just a little sluggish still, plus the residual cough. Luckily the cough seems to clear up once I am up for a few hours.

What are everyone's Halloween plans?

We are carving pumpkins with everyone tonight. Nothing like 8-10 pumpkins worth of mess on the kitchen table at once. :scared: So far Terra seems to prefer that we go trick-or-treating at the mall. She's still wavering, but is leaning that one for some reason. So, we'll probably head to the mall, eat our free kid's meal at Chick-Fil-A (costumed kids eat free at ours tomorrow) and then trick-or-treat.

I'm also thinking about making some Halloween cookies or something tonight. Maybe we can make them and then take them to Chick-Fil-A for Erin to give to her workers tomorrow night. Then we won't have cookies and candy running around here.

I have to work tomorrow night. My Mom and Chris will have to handle trick or treat this year. I told my boss that the boys would be in to Trick or Treat and she was pleased with that. I am expecting that we will not be busy tomorrow night.

I have today off. I am just starting Colby's new blanket and he is trying to help. The mother of one of my cousin in laws passed away on Sunday so the calling hours are tonight and the funeral is tomorrow. I have offered to babysit if they need someone, otherwise I'll go to the calling hours tonight. I also want to cook a good meal for the boys tonight as I'm not home very often to do so. They love to sit down and have lots of courses :goodvibes I guess that I'd better starting thinking of what to cook pretty soon.

Yesterday I did mail out all of my DDA packages so I didn't totally get off my to do list schedule, it just got switched around a bit.

Tia glad to hear you are feeling better!

I was not going to decorate or hand out candy this year(sound horrible don't I). But I bought some candy yesterday & I am going to decorate a little today. No cookie baking for me, I bought some Pillsbury Halloween cinnamon rolls that I will make for the boys. They are all excited about going out tomorrow night. Hope everyone post's pictures of their little goblins!

I have today off, so I am cooking ham & beans in my slow cooker.

Guess I need to get off of here if I want to get anything done!

Oh my exchange packages will not be going out till after the Vegas trip.

So I had a crazy dream experience this week. We had some family friends from the time I was 8 to 18. We did things with them constantly - dinner, outings, vacations, holidays, etc. If one set of parents was out of town, the kids stayed with the others. It was a woman my dad worked with, her son a year older than me and her live-in boyfriend. Sometime between when Derek graduated high school and I did the next year, the woman and my dad had some kind of falling out (:confused3 ). So I haven't seen Derek in almost 15 years and it's been at least 10 since I ran into his mom anywhere. Last I knew, he went to college in Tennessee and she still lives around here.

Fast forward to the other night, I had this long drawn out dream about running into Derek in present-day. Terra was with me and we were in Boston somewhere as we were on the T (subway) at some point. We were just catching up, etc. So a song we used to sing all the time as kids came on today so I decided to look for Derek on MySpace. I was able to find him easily and where should he happen to live now....just outside of Boston!

Weird. After we were talking about it the other night I looked to see if there was anything new I could find on my old flame. I found a post from last year, some pics on his home page with no dates on them, nothing exciting. Looking at the pics I think I am finally ready to put down the torch I have been carrying for him for 19 years.:rolleyes1

Janet - paper routes for the boys! I didn't know that kids still had paper routes. Hooray for them and for their motivation!

I concur on the fake trees. I finally broke down last year during the after-Christmas sales and got a pre-lit tree. Although some year I do want to take the kids to get a real tree. Maybe this will be the year? :confused3

Let the family homework projects begin.....Nicholas has to do some kind of Indian project. He has to pick either the Powhatan, Souix or Pueblo tribe and do something. His choices range from making a dream catcher, a diorama, a poster, a mobile, a drawing, native food or games, etc etc. It also has to include a written report of at least 5 facts about the tribe. I think this will be his first lesson in internet searching. :rotfl:

Janet, just tell the boys that a newspaper is not a battering ram so they should not fling it with all their might into the front door. That's what our paper boy does. I have complained more than once because I don't like to think my door is being broken down at 5 AM every Sunday morning. It is a kid, though. I looked out one morning and saw him. He must help his dad with the route.

I'm pretty sure that Glade makes a scented oil freshener you plug in with the glistening snow scent.

Have you thought about maybe doing a very small tabletop tree? That might solve some of your problem.

When the cats chase each other (which is every few hours) they run across the table. I had to put one of those rubber pads for throw rugs under my tablecloth because they were sliding across the table and scratching it all the way across.

Good morning.

Tia, Stephanie and Terry - I hope you all have better days today and that you start feeling better! :wizard:

I agree! Too many ailing DDA this week!:wizard:

Elizabeth, this is the tree you need. :rolleyes1
IMG_3519.jpg

I would say yes, but Arabella can leap. Her goal in life would become "leap into that tree".:rotfl2:

Good Morning DDA!

Heidi, I like that tree. But knowing my very mischievous kitties, they would soon find out how to get in it!

At least they don't have cravings for electrical wires!:rolleyes1

Be glad.

Happy Anniversary!!!!!!!!! Sounds like a nice evening!

Happy Anniversary, Marci! Glad you are feeling better!

Off to work! We just got in scarves, hats, & gloves at the store yesterday...I am not ready for the cold just yet! Last week I was sticking ice cubes in my bra at Epcot! (ok, TMI, I know!):lmao:

Okey dokey, then!:rotfl2: Momboss was just saying that Princess will need mittens for the trips they are taking in December.

I will keep the 9th - 14th in mind for next year. My boys would love to meet some of the DDA kids! Of course I would love the chance to meet up with you all again as well :goodvibes

Looking at the '08 calendar it is possible that DS might be off the 10th for Fair Day. We never have off for Yom Kippur or Columbus Day. If we end up getting a package in August that requires one day passes we could apply those to AP renewals for DS & me and not be out TOO much money. Hmm.

Time to get ready for swimming.:scared: Chat with you all later.

Marci - happy belated anniversary! Sounds like you had a wonderful evening on Saturday. :)

My tooth is not in pain at all... it is dead! But the swollen gum line was awful yesterday. After being on the antibiotic for only 24 hours it is already noticeably reduced. :goodvibes:

Bob's truck passed both its inspections too. So, no need to hurry up and buy a new vehicle. We can take our time looking for what we really want. :car:

I will be in costume most of this week and will post pictures from my classes again, if you all are interested. They love my Sorcerer Mickey costume and were afraid I would not wear it this year. It is huge, but I can double the belt now... yes, ladies and gentlemen, I said DOUBLE... so I can cinch it up pretty well. Maybe next year I will think about taking it in somehow. :smickey:

We are also going to rehearsal tomorrow night in costume. That should be fun as the college students are looking forward to the crazy community people dressing up! I don't know where we will go out to dinner though. Our normal hangout is closed for the next two weeks since the owner is headed to Greece to visit his Mom.
