I AM CAUGHT UP!!! Love you all to pieces, but don't ever follow QueenForADay Theresa into this posting frenzy again! You about killed me!!

See you tomorrow, friends! :goodvibes
:lmao: but it was more like a week that we followed her:rotfl2:

I have been crazy with work this week. I was there til 10pm last night. I was hoping to leave early today to go to Lizzy's girlscout thing but I barely made it there to pick her up at 6pm. I'm done with the work for Monday's meeting but I still need to pull the presentation package together so I'll have to go in for a few hours this weekend. There will still be more to do after Monday's meeting but the biggest rush will be over. I'll be ready for my trip!

I got Mickey's blank T's today so I washed them and the T's for my friends tonight-need to go fold them. I also ordered some bunny slippers from the doll place for Lizzy's AG doll-they were so cute and only $2.50. Now I need to find some for her.

And I don't think I told you guys that the Dollar Tree near my office opened up this week! I got Lizzy & Halley glow in the dark wands for our trip. I got a couple of Christmas plastic table cloths to wrap DH's bike in, along with garland and bells for it too.

I'm still worried about the crowds on my trip. Terry (from FL) tried to get a room at Pop but they were sold out. Then she asked me to add her friend to our 1900 Park Fare breakfast at 11:10 am on Sunday but they said the table we had fits 5 to 6 so we couldn't add a 7th and the entire morning was booked solid. I think we should just go with the 7 of us and see if they can fit us but it does make me worry about crowds. I know we'll have a great time but we better get to the parks at rope drop.

The bell on the dryer just rang...I need to fold the T's and head to bed.

Doesn't it feel great to be caught up? I was falling behind this week with everyone getting caught up.:rotfl:

Elin, the 2 pictures are nice and :cool1: for the difference.

Tom Where do you find your Disney Fabrics? I've bought a couple of patterns that I'd like to find more quantities of. My google skills must be lacking as I can't seem to find a good merchant.

I'm going to try to get some sleep while all is quiet here. Colby seemed fine after his big mess. He even kept down Ibruprophen and then some water. Hopefully it was a one time thing.

So do you all let the kids sleep in the living room or do they all go in the bedroom with their sleeping bags?

depends on the amount of kids...a handful...their room, 10 in the living room.

Kristine-you obviously have had calmer children than the ones that come to my house.

I'm watching the Backyardigans for the 8th time tonight.:scared1: :scared1:

My DD went to pick up my DGD and a friend from a Halloween party. The movie isn't over yet, so the kids don't want to come home.

I got my rx from the doctor today. My sinuses are infected. Yuk.

I have been a bad DDA. I have not gone back and read everything from when I was gone. Bad, bad, bad.:guilty: :guilty: :guilty:

I have barely been able to keep up since I returned. Being sick hasn't helped.

Tammi, I wouldn't even try to compare to SuperDeb. :cool2: :cool2:

I think you have received really good advice. The only thing I have to add is this. I would make sure the kids I invited were friends. And on REALLY good terms with each other. Nothing like having a fight break out during the karoke part of the party. (the karaoke machine was a Christmas present to my DGD a few years ago. Lots of fun during sleep overs)

The only craft we have ever done during sleepovers is smores. Oh wait a minute... scrapbooking pages. Surely not a big hit with boys!!!:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

And I also agree that Alyssa should have a friend over. Only thing I have to add to that is wherever your son's base camp is (living room, family room, his room) should be off limits to your daughter and her friend.

Ah off to bed. I am so tired. ANd we have to clean the house tomorrow. Gee I wish we had a maid....:goodvibes :goodvibes

I hope things go well at the Dr! :wizard: It has been so long since I had a newborn I can't remember what all of their ins and outs are supposed to be. My friend's DS had to wear some sort of special "belt" for jaundice. Other people I know have just been told to put the baby near a sunny window as the sunlight helps.

Katie was jaundiced after she was born, and since it was July, the doctor told us to strip her to her diaper, and lay her on a blanket in the sun. It did the trick for her, and her levels were normal very quickly.

Jacob was not jaundiced at all.

Leslie was able to get over hers before we came home from the hospital, but Mary just got yellower and yellower! It was wierd, too, since she was the only twin that would eat, AT ALL! Leslie just fell asleep after one suck! Mary was under the lights for 5 hours on the day we went home, and we had to have a bili bed set up at home for the first 24 hours. She had to be one it for 2 hours and off for 1. It was HORRIBLE!!! She hated it, and would just scream! Luckily, Alan was wonderful, and took the night shift with her.

I hope that Virginia is ok!

Hi, everyone. We got home around 8pm. Quick rundown, and I'm headed to my own bed!

Rees does not have a partial blockage. He has a Hiatal hernia, the thickened area of jejunum which will have to be addressed (surgeon won't know what he needs to do until he gets in there), and the most serious thing is a very rare condition called gastric volvulus which is defined as an abnormal rotation of the stomach of more than 180°. It causes all kinds of problems and has to be surgically corrected. Rees already had a Nissen Fundoplication (surgery to prevent severe reflux where they literally make a band around the top of the stomach to prevent anything from going up the esophagus- ie he can't vomit or burp). So, to correct the other problems he also has to redo the fundo (many fundo's have to be revised as kids grow). So, there will be repair of the Hiatal Hernia, redo the fundo, fix the gastric volvulus, and look at the thickened jejunum. It is major abdominal surgery. He will try to do it laparoscopically, but because Rees' other surgeries were done "open" (major incision), the likelihood is he'll have to do them open as well. If it is done lap it will be a 2 day stay, if open likely 4 days or more.

So, we are just going to keep doing what we were, let him enjoy Halloween and all the parties, and then head back to the hospital on Thursday. It will be a very stressful week, but for now, we are going to focus on the fun things and enjoy being home and all together.

Thank you so much for the continued prayers and support. I'm off to bed!

ETA: the Emory GI were great once we saw them. We are to follow up with them in 2 months since he has inflammation of the stomach (gastritis) and they upped his Prevacid dosage. She gave me her private number and nurse, so we shouldn't have any trouble getting an appointment!

Oh, and here are the symptoms of chronic gastric volvulus. Just like Rees!

Chronic gastric volvulus

Patients typically present with intermittent epigastric pain and abdominal fullness following meals.

Patients may report early satiety, dyspnea, and chest discomfort. Dysphagia may occur if the gastroesophageal junction is distorted.

Because of the nonspecific nature of the symptoms, however, patients are often investigated for other common disease entities such as cholelithiasis and peptic ulcer disease.

Upper GI series can be diagnostic during an acute attack.

I am so glad to hear that there is a diagnosis and that Rees will get to enjoy Halloween what are the Figs going to be???

Nick would go over a week between poops. I was freaking out, but the doctor said that it is not abnormal for breast fed babies to use most of what they take in leaving very little waste. I remember 8 and 9 day periods between poops. Give her time, she will produce.

Abi was very similar...once every 3 days or so until she was about 5 actually. Now we know dinner is done because she excuses herself to go potty. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Colby went to bed at 8:45 and quickly fell asleep. About 1/2 hour later he woke up vomiting and rather than yelling to us he ran from his room, down the hall to the bathroom on the other end of the house. There was a trail the entire way :headache: What a mess we had. We managed to get him cleaned up thanks to a double bath and then attacked the mess. He is sitting on the couch now acting just fine :confused3 I think that he may have swallowed phlem, but that is just a guess. We could be in for a long night.

Poor Colby:hug:

Hey!!!:headache:

I was Queen for the Weekend!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

(and in my own head I still am queen!!:lmao: :lmao: )

So Jim and I went to a small group at our church to try it out tonight. The only other couple there was absolutely wonderful:goodvibes It seems that they are very, very similar to us.

There was a reason that it was just the two couples....so we could get to know each other better.

He retired from engineering and is now a shark pooper scooper at the Denver Aquarium and she gives riding lessons at their home. They have already invited us to bring Abi over to ride a horse. :goodvibes

It was a good way to end a super horrendous week. I basically turned in my resignation today...I have informed them that I am actively pursuing other job opportunities. :sad1:
