The only competition that is during the week is Regionals (at least the only one LHS competes in). It just so happens that there is one competition after regionals this year...that didn't happen last year Regionals was the last competition of the year except state.

Homecoming week is usually a bear for the marching band kids anyway.

Cassidy is struggling because once again she is not turning in work that she has done. :sad2: Abi is struggling because she isn't doing so well on tests.

I am not sure band is going to be a good thing for DS.:scared: He isn't strong enough academically to have commitments on school nights. I guess we'll just see how it goes as he actually learns to play.

DS asked his Social Studies teacher if she wanted his homework from Thursday and she said no. Hmm. So did she not take down a grade for that paper or did he get a zero? He also tried to give her the signed paper saying we have received and read the Handbook and she said she didn't want that, either. I told him he better hang on to it because it will come back to haunt him if he doesn't have it.

Here are the reservations that I have.

Deb and Chris, I have been trying to add you two to the CG but with no luck at all.

We all want to make sure we are at the locations about 15 minutes early. Everyone has to be there at that time because some places will not seat until everyone is there.

Kristine has the ADR# for LTT but the time is 4:30.

Saturday October 20 is California Grill and that is at 7pm.

I have Anne Marie, Tammi, her Bob, Vicki, Chuck, Jo, Stephanie and I.

Sunday October 21 is La Celier at 7:30.

I have Anne Marie, Tammi, her Bob, Vicki, Chuck, Chanon, Janet, Stephanie and I.
MyBob and I will be at the LTT, Cali Grill and Le Cellier meals.

The ADRs that I have are Sat. 10/20 at 8:40 - CMC for 15 of us....me, mybob, kristine, bill, vicki, chuck, deb, chris, lindsay, janet, chanon, anne marie.....who else?

and

Sunday 10/21 at Kona at 8:30 for 16.....same as above but also terry and stephanie. I included Elin in this in case she wanted to join us but, understandably, she will be with her family, so we have some wiggle room here as well.

Here is a tip for the coffee drinkers among us.

When Stephanie and I went to WDW in 2005, we knew the coffee they have in the rooms is just not the best, so we brought those single coffee pods. I think I used 3 for a pot each morning and it gave us about a cup and half each. Then you are not dealing with filters and coffee cause it is all in one!!!
Do they now have coffee pots in the value rooms, or do I have to pay extra?

Tammi, the last I heard they still don't have coffee pots in the values. But that has been a while ago. I go and see if I can find anything on the resorts board for you.

I finally bought myself a small gumball machine. Have been wanting one forever now.

I could be wrong, but my PassPorter does not list a coffee pot as one of the amenities at the Value Resorts.

Sorry Tammi, no coffee pot in the values. But plenty of people bring their own, and they were never told they couldn't have one.

Yippee!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I had the thought this morning that I leave for my first DCL cruise, and then will be in WDW for the "big trip" officially next month! :scared: ;)

Morning guys!

I have no clue why ,but i couldnt sleep last night after being up so late and im not feeling so hot this morning---so took some medicine and off to work--have a great day

Hope you're feeling better, Jen!

If it helps, this is the earliest I've ever started. I just started finding some really cool clearance items in the last month or so. Nothing like finding good gifts, doing it early and saving big money! Love Target at inventory time!

I love it when you can find things like that - good for you! :thumbsup2

They were talking on the news this a.m. about how retailers are already worried about holiday sales, and are going to start discounting early and often. There could be some good deals out there!

Good morning, DDA!

I need to get DS out the door.
Princess has swimming lessons today. I should get some sort of bonus pay for having to do this every week.

I believe that's what we at my office call "hazard pay." ;) I think you definitely qualify!

We've never had a coffee pot at Pop.:guilty: There are some "swaps" on the Budget Board where they pass a coffee pot from family to family - you can always see if they have your dates open.
It would be nice if they had coffee pots, but that is one of the very few in-room amenities that separates values from mods so I doubt they will add them.

Jen the tickets sound perfect. It was nice of your brother to give them to you.

Speaking of Birthdays...I think that I now have Hunter's gifts taken care of (at least they are all ordered) and I think I've already bought enough for Colby too. So that is the last 2 Birthday's to worry about this year. I've made a huge dent in our Christmas shopping. I noticed yesterday that my neice and nephew don't have rain jacket so I'm debating whether I should give them rain coats or rain ponchos in their Disney Kits. I could pick up WDW ponchos for all 4 of them while we are there or I could even order Nascar ones which they would probably use more. Of course LL Bean rain jackets are more practical as they would wear them around here and they do fold compactly, but they are also considerably more expensive. Decisions, Decisions.

I suppose that I should sit down today and make a list of items that I need to pick up while at WDW.

Elizabeth...Evilbay lured me in yesterday. I ended up winning a Lot of 100 pins for $150. The seller had great feedback and I plan to trade them away so I think it is a good deal. Now I'm watching a few more of his auctions. Maybe I'll have all the pins that we need for our trip by the end of the week.

Sounds like some good buys all the way around! You're always so on top of things!

No coffee pots in the values. I don't know if there is a coffee pot "swap" like there are fridge swaps. You might want to check the Budget Board, if you're concerned about it. Or, it seems like Bernadette might have posted about something she takes along when she goes to Pop. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I didn't pay too close of attention.

Well, my Tuesday started out feeling like a Monday - go to leave the house this morning, and our garage door is broken. :headache: It took just about all of mine and Jonathan's combined strength to get the door raised manually, so there's something really wrong. And of course, Jonathan leaves town today, so I get to deal with this while he's gone. I don't mind dealing with home repairs, but I feel like repairmen inherently take advantage of the lack of knowledge on my part during times like this. He's coming through our home warranty, though, so we'll see what happens. Thankfully, this happened this week, and not last week, and happened today, and not tomorrow. I'd still be stuck in the house by myself otherwise!!!

Thanks for all the info on the coffee pots. Looks like Bob will be running over to the food court for me while I am getting ready. ;)

I hope your door is fixed soon! I'm glad you guys were able to get it open! I think I heard that garage doors weigh about 700 lbs.:scared1:
The garage door here at work scares me. It is old, and I am always terrified one of the springs will break. One of my friends knew someone who was hit by a garage door spring and was really seriously injured. The scary thing is he was OUTSIDE of the garage and the spring came THROUGH the door when it broke.:scared:
One of my old bosses used to let the kids run under the door when it was moving - I HATED that. DS and Princess aren't allowed to go under the door until it is completely open, and they would never DREAM of running under it as it was closing!

Most electric garage door openers have a pull cord that will unhook the door from the opener allowing you to raise the door manually. If you did that and the door was still difficult to open it is probably either off track or one of the little wheels has frozen. Good luck with the repairman.

In case I don't make it back on before I leave on Monday...the LTT reservation is at 4 PM.

If I need to know anything after I leave...someone please call my cell.

Most garage doors now have a cable that runs through the springs that way if one breaks the cable will stop the spring from flying around. You should be able to see the cable inside the spring if you look.

I'm quite sure that our garage doors do not weigh 700 lbs as I helped install them and they were not that heavy.

I need to ask Dadboss if he knows when the door was installed. These houses are from the 1950's, so the door could be pretty old. Factor in that the door goes up and down at least 6 or 8 times every day and I am sure the springs are getting a workout!

The door is wooden, and it is a 2 car garage. I can't remember where I heard the 700 lb. figure. Maybe from the repairman at a previous job? That house was very similar in age and design to this one.

Deb - Thanks for telling me about the cable! I can see it inside the springs, so I feel a little bit better! I would rather not be anywhere around if one of those springs breaks, but hopefully it won't zing all over the garage if one happens to snap!;)
