Does anyone here drive a minivan or a mid-size SUV? We realized yesterday that we cannot fit 2 booster seats and a carseat in the backseat of my car. That means once I have the baby we would not be able to carpool with any of DS's friends (by law they'll be in a booster seat for 3 more years) or pick them up for playdates, etc.

We were thinking about trading up for a minivan but not for another year or so. If any of you have an SUV/minivan (or a car even) that will comfortably fit 3 carseats in the backseat, please let me know.

We're looking to buy used (unless we get some incredible deal) and probably won't go older than a 2002.

Hi, we have a chrysler voyager. When my kids were younger I had 2 boosters & a car seat in there. I had my youngests car seat in the middle row so I could reach her. I had the other 2 boosters in the 3rd row both on the ends with a seat in the middle. I couldn't fit 3 boosters in the back though. We got ours in 2001. It was a 2001 new car but it was deeply disocunted since the new 2002's were coming out..It was also the showroom van. YOu might want to try that if you are looking to save some money.

I still have 2 boosters in there now (oldest isn't in one anymore, just the 2 little ones) & we car pool with another family..I have 6 kids in there at a time & me!

Good luck & congratulations on your upcoming addition.

Ok, I need to complain a little.

The school that Ellie attends preschool at is having a Golf tournament the first part of May. So after the tournament they have dinner and a silent auction.

I offered to head up the preschool basket for the auction. I make baby blankets, and I figure why not. I’ll donate a blanket and burp cloth and then make a list of other things needed to fill the basket (the basket will actually be a bathtub).

So they had the first meeting about all of this on the 1st of March. I contacted the person in charge two days before that. I have also been back to see her twice and emailed her three times.

I can’t start requesting stuff from the classes until it is approved and I figured by this time it should have been “approved”. I couldn’t tell you what they are waiting for; they do this same stuff every year so it’s nothing new.

At this point I don’t know what to do. Should I “in passing” say something to the superintendent about “how I can’t wait to start” or something like that? I don’t get it, someone is ready to take on a project and they get stifled. What’s up with that?

I hope they don’t wait and only give me two weeks to make it work. Or forget me all together.

Ok, end of complaining.

Hey Paula - (isn't that a song?!?)

If I were you - this is the email I would send to the person who needs to give you approval - I am assuming you have spring break in the next month.

Hi XXXXXX,

I know that you are really busy and so I have taken the liberty of writing a letter to send home to the preschool classes requesting items for the basket raffle at the XXXXXXX. I have attached a copy of the flyer.

I think it is imperative that we give everyone a month to get donations in and then I will still need to put the basket together so I would like to send it home next Monday, March 27. This gives them an April 27 deadline and gives me time to put the basket together. I would also like to send home a reminder the day they return from Spring Break since I know that things can get forgotten over a long break from school.

Unless I hear from you, I will make arrangements for these to go home with the students next Monday.

I am so excited to take on this project. I think it will be a lot of fun and a great fundraiser for the school.

Sincerely,
Paula

This way she HAS to answer you or you can send the letter home next Monday and if anyone gives you a hard time you just say - I sent an email to XXXXXX and told her I would be sending it home on Monday unless I heard otherwise

I had that birthday a couple of years ago. It isn't bad at all!!!! I had my biggest party ever. It was a great celebration.

If I remember Kate's post from yesterday, my mom had that birthday and I got married 6 days later..... pretty cruel of me, huh?! :rotfl:

But honestly, she doesn't mind it either. She doesn't seem very old at all to me :goodvibes

I hope that doesn't mean you will be going to bed this early at WDW!!!! :rotfl2:

Are we going to pay for internet service so we can give live updates?!?!?

I should make my DH let me take my blackberry so we can send live updates ALL DAY LONG - even from the MK while we are having a dole whip!!!

Now Kate.... THAT is cruelty at it's finest. :sad2:

Did you see he is supposedly hooking up w/ the girl from Laguna Beach??? Nick, Nick, Nick, did he not learn anything from the last youngin' he married!!! She is very cute and all but she just really rubbed me the wrong way on Laguna beach!!! He, so needs a more mature woman ;) !!!! Any guesses who I am thinking of??? I am pathetic!!!

Good Morning My DDA Friends :)

I have missed hanging out with ya'll on here but life has been a bit busy. I am going to make a long story short with little drama.

1. My stepdaughter (Melissa), her husband and my grandaugher (Haley, 6)have been living with us since mid-Feb. Let's just say they are re-grouping financially and will probably be with us for about 6 months.
2. My stepson (Sam) has moved back in with us........not by his own doing but by the suggestion of his wife. They are having some marital problems to work thru. I think 50% of their problems have to do with his mother-in-law that they have been living with. My son has a little boy, Jake (3) and he is really missing his family. Did I mention my daughter-in-law is due to have a baby in 5 days!!!! My son Sam and Lindsy are getting along good. We were all at the hospital Saturday night until Sunday morning and then sent home since the contractions stopped and she was only dialated 3cm. There is so much drama to go into with this situation that I could write forever about it. Let's just say he has a very needy mother-in-law and if she isn't the center of attention then there starts the problems.

Of course then there is my husband and my two boys. We are adjusting well. I am doing everything I can to be sure that my older kids problems do not effect my younger two. So far so good. My older kids have been mine that I have raised since they were in K and 2nd grade so I love them as my own.

Anyway............that is what I am doing and going thru right now so any prayers that can be said for Sam and Lindsy and their marraige I would really appreciate it.

Did ya'll notice my ticker.....11 days until our cruise!!!

By for now..........Lynn

Yikes! Your entire family will be in my prayers for patience and a smooth adjustment! :grouphug:

We're supposed to get "the worst snow storm of the winter" in the next few days.... which is REALLY unfair, since it's not winter. At least we're all in the same stupid, cold boat.

So does that mean you'll purchase an AP for both Dec 06 and Aug 07? Surely you'll have to plan some other trip (Oct 07 for Food & Wine Fest perhaps) to get good use out of those AP's. I'll be sure to share photos of Pop when I get back.

Can't wait to see the pictures!!

Actually the AP will be for '07 and '08. Our 10th anniversary is August 16, 2007, but it is too darn hot to go at that time (plus DH isn't supposed to take vacations in the summer months- ah the joys of working in road construction!) We will probably go the last week of Sept-first week of October-(whenever the last day of value season is) so it should co-incide with F&W and hopefully a MNSSHP!

The trip I am having a hard time convincing him of is the 8-10 days in June '08 to celebrate Kyle's 5th birthday. I want it to be a surprise for Kyle where he opens the present at his birthday party on Saturday and we leave the next day to go! Tony is just afraid that going to WDW 2 times in 1 calendar year is "excessive" :rotfl2: My logic for the trip is a) Kyle loves it! (and so does DH so I don't know why he is being so difficult! b) he will start kindergarten in the fall so who knows when we will go again since summer vacation time is the worst time of year for DH to travel. Originally I wanted to stay at the CR and make it a super special trip, but I thought maybe DH was worried about paying for it, so I suggested staying at Pop or All Stars for that one too. :confused3

Oh well, I have quite some time to convince him to go, but you know us obsessive planners, it's not good enough to be planning this year's trip - I need to plan more!!! :goodvibes

Good Morning everyone! It looks like I have tons to catch up on...I think I need to start on page 745!
Steffy-thanks for the comments on the dress. :thumbsup2 I have an appointment at David's Bridal today at 4pm. I'm hoping they offer layaway.
Kristine-I plan on working on the PM sometime today, so I'll definately get back to you soon.
To everyone above and everyone else-Thanks for the prayers for Grandpa Al. Yesterday I left work early after receiving the phone call "You better come now if you want too" and drove up to Ashtabula to go see him. The hospice room is wonderful there. They really make it like an apartment. There was a sleeper sofa, and maybe three or four chairs that turned into single beds for overnighters. A table that sat 6 for dinner time, and plenty of outomans (sp?) for extra seating. I arrived about 2:30 pm and couldn't go into his bedroom until about 6pm. Too hard. Even then, I just stood in the doorway. Had a long drive home, I left about 8pm. At 10pm, my mom called. I'm glad I went. Thanks for the :grouphug: everyone! Please pray for my grandma now. Lots of hard decisions will have to be made about her care. She had a stroke 4 years ago and Grandpa Al was her caretaker.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Here in NE Ohio the weather is wonderful for a change! No snow or rain, just a nice cold sun shining outside. :thumbsup2

~Chanon

Chanon, :grouphug: thanks for the update! I am so glad you went! Keep us posted- we're thinking of you!
