I figured out the way to word it so it will not be offensive- okay at least not filtered

teenage boys generally use it to refer to someone's mom who is hot - calling her a mother i'd like to (have sex with)
good job explaining.

What swap did you set up? I've always wondered about these and how they worked. Never had someone I really knew that I could ask.

S.W.A.P. is a Special Whatchamacallit Affectionately Pinned Somewhere At least that is what I go by in Girl Scouts. Girls and adults make items and SWAP them at service unit events and others things. But here is what I set up.

I set up a Secret Scrapbook Sister swap. It started in January and the last mailing should occur by Monday. It was a mailing to your Secret Sister once a month, so three mailings. Each package was supposed to be about $10.

Everyone who is participating sent me a message that they wanted to participate. They had to fill out a survey about there likes, where they lived, what they wanted, what they didn't like, what things they were working on now.

Since this one was scrapbooking related, it was supposed to be mostly scrapbook supplies. Lots of things got sent in packages candy, keychains, picture frames, Disney items, magnets, paper, ribbon, etc. Basically anything that could go in a box could theoretically be swapped.

The community board often has candle swaps, lotion, sandals, socks, t-shirts, towels, etc. I have also participated in a Christmas stocking exchange. There are also some where you make items and they are swapped with all involved.

I hope this helps, if you still have questions I will be glad to answer them.

Okay Ladies -

I just ordered a pair of sage Nile crocs size 8 for $17.10!!!! :Pinkbounc

I found them at REI.com - they are 19.99 - but right now they have 20% off one regular priced item - and if you pick it up in their store - the shipping is FREE!!! Otherwise - you can have it shipped to you for $5.99 - still bringing the total to only $23

I don't have an REI near me but right now my mom happens to be visiting my sister in Denver and is going to pick them up for me and bring them back!!

I wasn't sure I wanted to try them at $30 - but for $17 - I am so excited!!!!!!

did you have to pay the membership fee? I was reading the coupon info and it says "REI membership is required at checkout. Not a member? You can join for just a one-time $15 fee during checkout"

Very good job on the explanation. I couldn't figure out a way to say it without being offensive. Or to get through the censor.

Ok, DVC members....

Two specific questions from Kyle ( :thumbsup2 )

1) How long a term is the financing through DVC?
2) How much of a down payment did you make if you financed? I guess more specifically those of you who bought recently (Deb, Tammi, Steffy, Lindsay, etc).

Thanks :goodvibes

I got the DVC info in Feb. for Saratoga Springs. Not sure if still good or not but this is the info you asked for. It is showing $98 per point to purchase. The dues for 2005 were $3.8260 per point.

1) They list one year, 3 years, 5 years, 7 years, and 10 years as options.
2). The downpayment shown is 50% for the one year and 20% for the other options.

The DVD and all the attached paperwork have been very helpful. My DH is convinced but I still want to run the numbers to make sure that it will be beneficial for us. At this time, we only go one week every year but I'd love to go more. I like all the additional places that you can use your points as well. I've always wanted to stay at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island and they are one of the places that honor the DVC points.

I did not read that but when I called to see if my mom would pick them up for me -I asked my sister if she had a number so they could get credit - I thought I was doing them a favor - but now I see they were doing me a favor!!

let me see if I can find a different code for you!!

Consequences:

1. No allowance if they get one
2. Not going anywhere but school activities until the chores are done (not really grounding)

I'm trying to think of something else but my mind is tired after learning how to use my sewing machine! ;)

We started to have a family meeting every Sunday night when the girls hit their teens so we could all talk about what others were not helping with. We talked about what needed to be done by everyone in the week coming up as well. Chuck and I also heard things that we were falling down on for the kids. I really liked those talks.[/QUOTE]

They haven't gotten an allowance in 6+ months.....that's how long it took for me to get so fed up!! Though the allowance doesn't work as well for Cassidy as she babysits and gets paid nicely for that.

I like the family meeting concept...may have to play with that a little!!

I have to give a HUGE kudos to REI

I got an email from them saying that I had to show Photo ID to pick up my shoes - um since my mom is picking them up this could be a problem

so I sent them an email 1/2 an hour ago - they have already responded to me! that is really good customer service!!!!!

I have only been in to REI once....we have the flag ship store nearby....now I know to go in to look for my crocs!!!
