The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 3

In relation to where the Chick-fil-a is from my house it is about a 20-25 minute drive depending on traffic. I live outside of Columbia, Pa and the chick-fil-a is across the susquehana river in York but natch it is all the way on the other side of town. Steffy and I work in lancaster and with getting on Route 30 it could be a long drive

We will just have to meet there on the weekend.

That makes more sense. I just couldn't see how it would be 90 minutes. Because I am about 45 minutes to an hour from where you are and there is one here in Wyomissing. Roundtrip for that it would be 90 minutes or more depending on traffic.

today in the mail there was a large envelope from WDW for me - I had no idea what it could be - inside was an envelope that said "for Julia" and inside that envelope was a picture of Belle in her gold dress - signed; a collage that I had made of Julia and Belle and given to Belle the last time we rode the tea cups with her which she had also signed and a handwritten letter to Julia from Belle - here is the text of the letter:



okay - I think I might stop crying sometime today - Julia is on cloud 9!!

Now that is something to cry about!!!!

Tammi -- I also want to try to the Niles, but haven't been able to find them. I did find the Beach (already have a pair), and Athens, but not the Niles. I sometimes wear an 8, sometimes an 8 1/2.

Kate -- you said you normally wear an 8. Do you ever have to go up a 1/2 size, or do you sometimes have to go down 1/2 size? Thanks for the details!

Kate -- beautiful new designs. I hope Nick feels better soon! Have you tried the flavors you can add at the pharmacy to the medicine? Some people say they have had success with them, some say it didn't help at all. Luckily, I never had that problem with my boys, but if I had, it would be worth a try to flavor it.

Luckily he loves the antibiotic - it is the grape tylenol and motrin he won't take - he is fading fast -

I went upstairs to check on my kids and Julia was sound asleep - Nick look horrible to me - I leaned down to kiss him and he was holding his forehead and said mommy - me hot

he was right - he has a fever - then he said my eyes hurt - my head hurts and is holding his forehead right over his eye - which means he has a sinus headache -

I feel so bad for him - he is laying here next to me watching Toy Story 2 - every once in a while he says "head hurts" or "eye hurts"

Poor little thing - and he spit out the medicine

Sending that he will feel better soon. It is so hard when they won't take the medicine that will make them feel better.

Last night at dinner my mom and SIL were still talking about the dole whip I made and I guess with SIL being pregi I will have to cater to here cravings!!!

Kate -- Thanks for the info. I'm exactly the same way. Since the kids, I do sometimes have to go up, too. I'm also going to order the Niles. If your mom doen't end up getting them for some reason, we do have an REI here in Dallas somewhere, and I can get them and ship them.

Forgive me for not quoting anyone else...I'm trying to get caught up on all the posts since last night by working backwards, but I'm so tired my eyes can't focus anymore! And I can't even drink any caffeine, because I drank my "coke for the day" at lunch.

We spend the morning doing some last minute shopping for our trip: sandals for Alyssa, t-shirts for Kevin, dark t-shirt transfers, etc.

Lunch at Chick-fil-a (of course I had to include this!)

Then I baked for three hours: 51 lions (but two casualties that Kevin and Alyssa gladly ate ) and 50 elephants. I took pictures along the way, but I decided to freeze them and I'll frost them upon our return, a day or two before Alyssa's party, so you'll have to wait so I can finish the process.

Oh, and of course, I burned my arm on the last batch of cookies.

That was followed by dinner, Alyssa's bath, and now, lots and lots of laundry.

I'm turning the computer over to Kevin soon, so he can print our 70 pictures of characters for Alyssa's autograph book. I'll be putting that together tomorrow.

Whew! So, I'm exhausted! I hope everyone is having a good night.

All right I did have to leave the house because I wanted to give them pointers on what to do. But when I came back this afternoon I asked them why they couldn't clean like this every Saturday w/o the nagging:

Cassidy: "I guess I was in a cleaning mood today" (took her dad 1 hour to get her out of the bed this morning!!). Last night it was "why do I have clean up after everyone?".....which made me and then because we wouldn't have had to have last night's conversation if she was the slave she was claiming to be.

Abi: "Maybe it was the talk you did last night" I have such a people pleaser here

Jim: no comment...suppose I might actually get feedback from him when the girls are asleep. But I didn't think it was fair that he didn't "get" to nag....guess they had enough last night.

Me: I got to go to a bookstore, lunch and a paint your own pottery place w/o kids!!

I still need ideas on consequences for work not done.....I don't think this is going to last long!

If they get allowance make them pay you when you do there chore's.
I am really bad about this stuff too and land up doing most things and then DH says 'I stayed out your way' when I ask why he doesn't help.
So next week is his week to make dinner everynight - he can cook, order in or take us out for 7 nights and I have told him before that it is going to be monthly!!!
I have spoilt my kids so bad and just cannot get them to do anything without shouting!!!!

Yep, that happened in the swap I set up. The person put a space in it because they knew it would be censored. They had this problem all the time. I thought it was too funny they lived somewhere that was censored.

This is such a nice story. You definitely need to try and keep something in Belle's file. She sounds like a very amazing young woman. What a wonderful experience for you & Julia. This is why I love Disney!

Buying DVC was the best thing we did and we already have 3 other timeshares, we have used ours mainly for cruising and bought more points on our cruise in September. We leave in 10 weeks on our 4th 7 night cruise on the Magic - love those DVC points!!!!!
