Wow, lots more sickness. I hope you are all feeling better by the time you read this.

OK, so I've been complaining about having no snow this winter. Today was our day to tap our entire Maple Orchard which has about 1400 taps. My brother had several coworkers and friends that were able to help, but it had to be today. We have been monitoring the weather for weeks and Today was predicted to be a good day. That all changed and we now have a foot of snow on the ground. We did go and tap, but it was much harder than we expected. The ground had lots of ice under the new falling snow. I think we all fell at least once. I feel once and had no time to even put my hands down to catch myself. I landed flat on my shoulders and head. Needless to say I didn't get up too quickly, but I feel fine now. Chris fell a few more times than I did and is now nursing a sore knee and elbow. It was so slippery and we have such a mountain to climb that we had to take the 6 wheeler. That was having great difficulty climbing the hill. We hit 2 trees, not hard, but none the less I wound up with a huge black and blue on my thigh. It snowed so hard that I didn't even try to take pictures as I didn't want to ruin my digital camera. The moral of my story is to be careful what you wish for because it could come true. I one day we have more snow than we have had all winter. No serious injuries and we are all laughing about our falls now. Chris even got launched off the front of the 6 wheeler when we hit one of the trees (he did not get hurt). I haven't seen my Dad laugh that hard in years. After spending the day on the mountain I got to take a quick shower and head to work. Since it was snowing so hard we weren't super busy, but busier than I expected. I am pretty much exhausted now so I'm heading for bed. I just had to check on my DDA family.
