Our Party City has the supplies now too, but I'm rethinking how much I want to spend, since we're inviting about 70 people. I'm thinking about buying the JoJo napkins but using primary color plates, cups, etc. to save some money. I'm sure I'll splurge on some stickers and maybe the plastic table cover for the cake table too. :teeth:

These are the games I've been brainstorming (I got a lot of these ideas from other websites): Pin the Nose on JoJo, Elephant Peanut Toss (create a poster of Dinky and cut out his mouth and have the kids throw candy circus peanuts in his mouth), Hot "Po-Tater," a sucker pull, and Trina's Musical Tightrope (paint a 2 x 4 and play like musical chairs).

Amy :)

What cute ideas! You are one creative lady! I was thinking along the same lines. Anything circus would be great! You could set up plastic milk bottles and let kids throw beanbags to knock them over. Make sure you do some cotton candy, if possible (or by it premade). Hot dogs are great for a circus theme, too.

I'm a "sickie" now too. My whole left side ached yesterday, from my ear to my arm, but I pretty much brushed it off. Well, I went to bed around 10:30 p.m. and I woke up at midnight with the worst chills I've ever experienced! I had a fever of 102 and I managed to fall back to sleep after taking some Tylenol. I called my doctor on call today and she said it sounds viral (since I'm still on that daily antibiotic for my bacterial infection) and to just keep taking Tylenol to keep my fever down. I hope this passes quickly. It's weird that all my aches and pains are contained to the left side of my body.

Alyssa has thrown up a couple times this week...once in the middle of the night a few days ago and today in the middle of dinner. But then she acts fine and she doesn't have a fever or anything. I don't know what to think of that.

I'm sure my sister is thrilled that she's here!

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: to everyone who is feeling yucky. :wizard: :wizard:

Amy :)

That's exactly what is running through my family, now. Including me. I've been in bed all afternoon, nursing a fever, and chills. Luckily, the chills have passed, and DH just made me a mug of tea with skim milk and Splenda. Not the best, but it feels good on my cold hands.

Fever's are the worst for me, since I can't take Ibuprofen or Aspirin. I can take Tylenol, but I can only take one pill at a time, and then have to wait at least 45 minutes before taking the second. It sure seems to drag the fever out. Oh well, this too shall pass. Jacob and Leslie are back to their normal selves, and Katie and Mary are trying hard to get over their fevers.

At least they all decided to get sick at the same time, instead of dragging it out for several weeks. That's what usually happens. I guess I'm counting my blessings.

Hope you feel better soon, Amy, and that Alyssa does as well. I also hope that Kevin doesn't get it. I'm making Alan sleep in the guest room, as I don't want him to get sick! He's not a fun patient!

I actually read about it on the budget board. I was intrigued, so I checked out Ebay. I found several copies there. I got mine for .69 cents plus 2.00 shipping. I figured that was a deal, so I bid and won! (Don't you just love that feeling?) It's been a huge hit with my kids. They will look through the book for hours, planning and plotting their birthdays. The twins are now set on a Pooh Bear party. There are several cute games, crafts to make, a small lunch menu (bear burgers and piglet potato salad), plus a recipe for a Pooh Bear cake and Tigger ice cream.

DS wants the either the Peter Pan party of the Jungle Book party. And my oldest wants to combine elements from all the Princess ideas in the book. So, really, the sky is the limit. Once I looked through the book, my mind started wandering with other Disney movies than those listed in the book, and what you could do for them. The possibilities are endless.

You could check out your library and see if they have a copy, or go straight to Ebay. Good luck. You won't be disappointed!
thanks for the info.

Amy and Glynis - I'm sorry that you both are coming down with something. I hope it passes quickly and that you get back to normal, whatever that is. Neither of you are in any condition to be taking a lot of meds. When I was pregnant with Alyssa I came down with the flu and had to go to the ER for fluids and nauseau med. I felt a million times better after that. They should sell whatever that is OTC.

DH had to work today so the kids and I went to see Eight Below. It held their attention, because of the dogs, and I enjoyed it. I didn't know that it was based on a true story. Amazing.

I also put 5 hrs of Disney video onto a DVD today. No editing or anything, just transferred it raw. Our friends that went to WDW with us in Dec. are coming down tomorrow. We haven't seen eachother since the trip so we are having a picture and movie viewing day, of all the stuff we took while on vacation.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Amy -

I got the flu with Julia - let me tell you she was ticked and kicked the crap out of me every time I threw up - there's a great combo - the flu and your child kicking you like crazy!!!

anyway - after twelve hours with no sign of it slowing down we called the OB and she prescribed phenergan for me (it comes in a suppository too) luckily I already had one from my morning sickness - phenergan is an amazing thing - it stopped the vomiting and put me to sleep -

if you start throwing up - and you have some - take it right away - otherwise call your ob as soon as you start to and ask for it!!

I second the phenergan thing. I used it through all 3 of my pregnancies. I would take that in the morning, and at night, I would do Unisom/vitamin B6. Neither totally took the nausea away, but boy did it make it manageable, and no throwing up. I love my Dr. because she told me that in this day and age, no woman should have to put up with morning sickness, and she doesn't believe in letting a woman go beyond her due date. Compare that to my mother, who in 1966 had to have my sister induced because she was halfway through her 10th month of pregnancy. Dsis just didn't want to come out and play.

By the way, Kate, I found my file of Disneyland tips. Do you want it? I can email it to you now, or add to it after our June trip and send it to you just before you leave for DL. Most of the stuff is extremely common sense, and I'm sure you know it, but there are some fun things on there as well. Let me know if you want it! I put it together for my neighbor and her family who are first timers.

Glynis - I would love the DL file s- do you need my email?

We went to see Curious George today -it was SO cute!! nick LOVED it!!! We bought him a Curious George at Wal-Mart today and he hasn't put him down yet! My om told me I didn't need to go see the movie - as I have my own little Curious Nick!!! :rotfl:

Oh, how I love & hate tax time.
Love the extra cash.
Hate the time it takes to do it.
So I'm waiting for forms to print.

So many sickys.
Hope you all get better soon.
Later.

this morning Julia and Nick were playing doctor -

Julia was very cute - putting eyedrops in our eyes - telling us how long to take our medicine - letting us pick out what bandaid we wanted - and what sticker or lollipop we wanted

then Nick sat down next to Steve and said - me doctor - Steve said okay - and I kid you not - Nick stuck out his hand and said "Money" :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I can't remember the last time Steve and I laughed so hard!!

Hope all those who are sick get well fast!!! pixiedust:

I can't believe baseball season has started already. We have volleyball starting this week for Cassidy.

Cute ideas being tossed about for a JoJo(is that right?) birthday party. I love cotton candy(it makes me act like this fellow :hyper: ) and you could also rent one of those machines. You are a brave, brave woman to have a birthday party for 70 people!! :scared:

We're taking three days there and three days home driving.(We'll stay in hotels or with families for those nights) My husband is the only driver in the house. Plus we can take our time and see people along the way and it's still cheaper than flying!! We have one fan(we only have a huge one roomer) and I think I'll probably get another for our screen house. We are planning on swimming ALOT!!!

I have been on the camping forum a lot and have a travel agent who camps at FT Wilderness at least twice a year!! But I may pm you closer to the time to pick your brain  Thanks!!

We had the same plans, lots of swimming. Here in Vermont the pools rarely reach any warmer than 80 degrees so they are very refreshing. We went to the pool at FW our first night there thinking we would have a refreshing swim, but it felt more like bath water. It was not a heated pool, but had to be over 90 degrees. Please feel free to pick my brain. We love the Fort.

Wow, lots more sickness. I hope you are all feeling better by the time you read this. :grouphug: :grouphug: :wizard: :wizard: .

OK, so I've been complaining about having no snow this winter. Today was our day to tap our entire Maple Orchard which has about 1400 taps. My brother had several coworkers and friends that were able to help, but it had to be today. We have been monitoring the weather for weeks and Today was predicted to be a good day. That all changed and we now have a foot of snow on the ground. We did go and tap, but it was much harder than we expected. The ground had lots of ice under the new falling snow. I think we all fell at least once. I feel once and had no time to even put my hands down to catch myself. I landed flat on my shoulders and head. Needless to say I didn't get up too quickly, but I feel fine now. Chris fell a few more times than I did and is now nursing a sore knee and elbow. It was so slippery and we have such a mountain to climb that we had to take the 6 wheeler. That was having great difficulty climbing the hill. We hit 2 trees, not hard, but none the less I wound up with a huge black and blue on my thigh. It snowed so hard that I didn't even try to take pictures as I didn't want to ruin my digital camera. The moral of my story is to be careful what you wish for because it could come true. I one day we have more snow than we have had all winter. No serious injuries and we are all laughing about our falls now. Chris even got launched off the front of the 6 wheeler when we hit one of the trees (he did not get hurt). I haven't seen my Dad laugh that hard in years. After spending the day on the mountain I got to take a quick shower and head to work. Since it was snowing so hard we weren't super busy, but busier than I expected. I am pretty much exhausted now so I'm heading for bed. I just had to check on my DDA family.
