I am sure some of you can relate to this:

my job has me so stressed that I am stuffing my face with food....even when I am not hungry. I would love to be on even keel again sometime!!

 I can certainly relate. I have a suggestion... when that urge to eat at night hits, put on a favorite Disney CD and walk along in place to the music. It makes me forget that I was stressed and it usually curbs the need to munch. I also keep crunchy things around like carrots and apples and if that urge does not completely go away, then I have a few of those. Hope this might help, Theresa.

My boss is a horse's patoot and a feeling I normally get in January (stressed out beyond belief) I get going into work on a daily basis right now...and I don't see it stopping any time soon. I also think I have inherited my mom's wanderlust when it comes to jobs...feeling restless.

I have gone to the head of SPRC today and I am taking a vacation week here in September...gotta try and figure out if I want to stay at my job...I love the church members(okay, most of them;) ) but I am not liking my job. I don't get paid enough to live with hating my job. :rolleyes1

No one EVER gets paid enough to hate going to work, Theresa. If you can't fix it, I say... start looking elsewhere.

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

another beautiful day here so I am out to spend some time on the patio. Talk to you all later. Hope your days are wonderful!

I'm going to say goodnight. Jonathan is sick, and we both need a good night's sleep so he can get better, and I can try to avoid it. See you guys in the a.m.! :cloud9:

No one EVER gets paid enough to hate going to work, Theresa. If you can't fix it, I say... start looking elsewhere.

That is so true. When I was younger and look ahead at my life I saw myself in a power career of some sort. I got my degree in Small Business Management and planned to have a career. I never in a million years dreamed that I would stay home with our kids. Even while pregnant with the first my intention was always to head straight back to work full time. That all changed the first time I saw and held my little one. From that point on I couldn't imagine a stranger taking care of my kids. To this day my children have never been cared for by anyone other than a family member. I never in a million years saw myself being a waitress. That was just not something that fit into my career goals but It works well for us. I can be home with the kids most of the day and primarily work when Chris is home with the boys. I have the flexibility to take any day off that I need for any reason. There is relatively no stress other than maybe a PITA customer, but there out in 2 hours max :rotfl: My longest work day is 5 hours and I'm making more money now then I did when I had a full time desk job. The disadvantage is that I have no benefits per se, but spending all the quality time with my boys totally makes up for that.

I guess I'm saying that you should be open to any opportunities that are out there, even if they don't fit into your ideal career plan. Staying where you are doesn't sound good for you or your family, maybe there is something else out there that could provide you with what you need and maybe more. I have no idea where life will lead me, but I'm always looking and listening for the next thing. I know that something will manifest at some point to lead me in a new career direction, but right now I can honestly say that I am content with my life and I'm not struggling to make things work, they just do.

Now I need to get off here to play go fish with Colby. That's just a perk of being home with him

Marci - I am glad Randy told the teacher it was his fault!:thumbsup2 I asked DS where he thought he left the planner. He thinks maybe in reading, so if it isn't there he'll be buying another one. I don't think I have ADD, but I don't think DH does, either.:confused3 I don't know where DS got it.

Theresa - I read somewhere that when you have the urge to munch you should go brush your teeth. That distracts you and makes a snack less appealing.

Tom, That outfit is absolutely adorable. Makes me want to get my sewing machine out again.

Lindsay, I hope Jonathan's feeling better and you both got enough rest/sleep to push the ickies away.

Kim, Owen must be a real character. That was two cute. Right now my two are in the habit of blaming each other for things that "mysteriously" happen.

Janet, Mia, is too cute ( and i'm not a cat person). I love The Princess Diaries and the name Mia :D

Robyn, WOOHOO Congrats on your upcoming vacation !! It's always fun to start the planning .

Marci, I'm agreeing with Tammi. Even if the teacher doesn't find humor in it, I sure got a good chuckle from it.

Elizabeth, I really sorry you guys are getting off to such a rough start this school year. I hope you all can get things sorted out and he starts to have better days.

Elin, GREAT suggestion for night time snackers .. That's one I have a feeling I'm gonna be using alot .. I guess I'll have to get all the disney movies out of the kid's rooms LOL.

As for us Yesterday we STOCKED up on panties and undies for my little guys .. of course M&M found her princess panties as soon as we got to the rack problem was.. none in her size ugghh so she setteled for a pack of Ariel, Tinkerbell, Dora of course and ELMO And Zoe. RJ found ( as he calls them) " Captain of the Caribbean", Spidarman, Transformers and Star Wars... I'm not sure which one was more excited about them. ( sorry i'm rambling about kid's underwear, that was the thrilling part of the day LOL.) Today's our run around day, Run M&M to Nana's, Run RJ to the Ortho. get the cast off , Run RJ to get x-rays, Run back to the Ortho. to get the new cast., Run back to the house, wait, wait, wait, wait for Hubby to get done work to Run back to nana's for the weekend lol Oh and RJ wants to Run to the dollar store after the orth, so he can pick out some toys. I'm really not sure where he gets his dollar store addiction from, but I'm thinking it's genetic ( my Mom was a doaller store queen !). Ok time to start the Running, I hope Everyone has a GREAT Friday! and IF I don't get back on before we leave for the weekend Everyone have a Great Weekend !!:grouphug: & :wizard: to all that are in need and not so in need

STEP AWAY FROM THE FOOD

I have carrots and healthy stuff around for just those urges....last night though I had my hands in dry cereal (Lucky Charms...love those marshmallows), popcorn and other things....that's when I knew I had to "confess" to all of you...so seeing it typed out would hopefully stop me.

Good morning!

Daniel's first day of his new school went great. He made friends, & likes his new teacher. Now I just hope it stays that way!:wizard:

The girls have settled in.

Next week all the extra after school stuff begins (dance, tae know do, acting religion, etc) so I will be trying to back away from the food too!!!!;)

I managed to get the whole kitchen cleaned this morning, amazing what you can do with no kids at home eh?

Theresa,
Hang in there!

Lindsay,
Hope Jonathan is better.

I submitted an application to the Disney Moms panel too. I don''t win anything so thats probably that! Would be fun though!:teeth:

Have a great day!

Oh I have been meaning to post these pictures!!

Here are my kids at Fantasmic with Elizabeth, Bernadette & their families.

I'm so sorry, Theresa! No $$ in the world is worth hating going to work every day!  I hope that the situation either resolves itself soon, or that a wonderful new opportunity presents itself, and your current horse's patoot boss wonders what he'll do to ever replace you! ;) :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Hope Johnathan is feeling better soon, and that you don't get sick. :wizard:

Thanks, Heidi! He said he felt like he had more energy this morning, but he's got a lot of chest congestion. So far, I've escaped it! (crossing fingers!)

Lindsay, hope mom doesn't start preaching about the drinking.

Heck if you could see my computer room, you would think John and I were a couple of drunks. With my mom and sister buying a house up here, all small things that can be packed now, are being stored at our place. Well she visited the local liquor store for boxes.

Liquor boxes make for great packing! :thumbsup2

Ditto! Lindsay, did you ever claim your prize from Sunshine? I didn't notice the part about traveling to Disney from Dec. 8-12. Oops. That would tag on nicely to us being there Dec. 12-16, wouldn't it?:rolleyes1 It would also require some serious juggling from DH. Oh, well. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it!:rotfl2:

I did decide to. Everything seemed on the up-and-up. I guess we'll see what comes of it!

Sorry to hear about DS and the planner. :sad2:

Lindsay -- I hope Jonathan is better today. When do you leave for the game? I'm afraid it might not be a pretty ending.... My brother and SIL are TCU grads and I'll never hear the end of it if they beat us...

Thanks, Marci. We leave tomorrow a.m. I am very nervous about this game, after how poorly we played last week. Unfortunately, I'll be in Austin, but sitting this one out. My parents are bringing my dog back to us this weekend when we all meet in Austin, and we learned the hard way previously that my dog can no longer be trusted by herself in a hotel room. So, I drew the short straw, and will stay with her in the room and watch it on TV! (I'm sure I'll be DIS'ing, too. ;) )

I see Elin and I are sharing the brain today! I certainly hope you're putting it to good use, as I'm sure not! ;)

What a great testament, Deb!

Theresa - I read somewhere that when you have the urge to munch you should go brush your teeth. That distracts you and makes a snack less appealing.

I've heard that, too, as well as to drink a large glass of water. I'm going to have to bring a toothbrush to keep in my desk at work!

Ummm, are you forgetting that you have 2 BC concierge stays and "BC Family of the Day" under your belt? Me thinks you win quite a bit! ;)

Glad to hear that Daniel had a great 1st day at his new school!

I ventured into the basement this morning to look for the pieces to Colby's Dracula costume. I think I found most of it. It must have been 5 years ago when Hunter wore it. I think that we have Hunter's costume complete, Colby's nearly complete, Nick has his together for trick or treating. I still need to take out the Monster one for him to wear for the costume contest, hopefully it is still in one piece. I'm not sure whether Chris and I will dress up or not. We still have a week to decide. As I was going through the multitude of totes full of halloween stuff I decided that I should decorate the deck and back yard this year. I think I have almost as many halloween decorations as Christmas. I'll do either a Halloween or Harvest type themed birthday party for the boys though I haven't picked a date yet. It needs to be sometime between Nick's birthday on Sept 29 and Colby's on Nov 17. One big blowout party will cover all 3 kids since Hunter's birthday is in between.

Tell him his planners are cheaper than Abi's to replace...they are mandated to have the same one....$10 a pop!! I am a bad mom and never check the planner..I figure Abi does her homework and if she doesn't she'll suffer the consequences...since we had the little bit of trouble last year she has made sure to have her homework done.

ADD is inherited but the parent doesn't have to have the disorder just be a carrier. More often than not it's the mom passing it down to the son but not always. I am sorry the school year is starting so rough for your son.
