The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 29

Hi, everyone! I've had a full day, and I'm pooped, so I'm thinking of turning in early!

Alan was supposed to be home from the mine yesterday, but the station asked him to stay one more night, and come home early today. He agreed (more OT), so I was alone with the kids again, last night. It wasn't too bad. The twins and I spent the afternoon at the liberry and we picked up several movies, and that kept the kids happy last night.

This morning, I got up early and made a special breakfast for the kids (it's something new I'm trying this year. Every day is something different, with a special something on Saturday). This morning it was Cinnamon French Toast Bake. Extraordinary!!!!!!!!!! The kids yummed it down, and pronounced it a keeper! I set them to cleaning up their rooms and then called Alan. He was just leaving the mine, so it would be another 2 hours before he got home. He had suggested yesterday that we take the kids to the zoo when he got home, so I told the kids what we were doing. They were thrilled.

I ran to get my hair cut, stopped at the grocery store to get bottled water, and snacks for the zoo, and barely made it home before Alan did. We got all the kids into the car and headed to the zoo.

It was really fun, but very, Very VERY hot!!!! By the time we got there at 11:00, it was alread 99 degrees out! We started out with a train ride around the zoo, and then found a picnic table under a tree and made some ham and cheese wraps for the kids. Then we spent the afternoon wandering around. We stopped at about 3:00 to see the Birds In Flight show which the kids thought was great fun!!! Some more wandering around, and by 5:00 we were done. We headed to the car, and I knew that Jacob was in trouble. He started drooping, and getting quite teary. I asked him how he felt, and he told me his head was hurting. We got in the car, and headed home. Jacob kept getting worse and worse. He went totally white, and told us to hurry and pull the car over. He threw up everything he's eaten for the last year, and we started back up. We had to stop 2 more times before we got home, poor kid!

We stopped at Wendy's for some take out dinner and got home. Jacob took some aspirin and fell asleep in my bed for about an hour. He's up now, and feels much better. I hate it when he gets migraines! It happens when he's overheated (sound familiar, Janet?), and even though I forced water down him at the zoo, at 105 degrees, it was just too hot!

Now I'm sitting here DIS'ing and watching the Sound of Music. Love that movie!!!

I got Leighanna's Chef Mickey dress done today!

One more outfit done for our trip!

Still have a couple of more to get done!

Where oh where is my ticker?!

I really need to see how close I am getting!:rolleyes1

So in 1 week at this time I will be sitting in the terminal of the Disney Cruise line waiting patiently to get on the Disney Magic.:thumbsup2 Not so sure about the patient part, but maybe.;)

I am not sure how I am going to convince myself to go back to work after having this 3 day weekend. Then I have 3 days of work and I am outta here.

I still haven't started packing. If you haven't realized it yet, I despise the packing part of vacation. When I went to Florida for college my packing would occur right before I would leave for the airport. Considering I am leaving here at about 5am Friday morning that might be a possibility as I will be too excited to sleep.

I have read and have no clue what is going on. I think my mind is a sponge it is soaking up everything and muttling it into nothing.

Sending prayers, :wizard: :wizard: and :grouphug:  to all of you.

One more week Becky!!!:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

You are going to have such a wonderful time...:dance3: :dance3:

Glynis - Hugs to Jacob! Poor thing!

Tom - That dress is the BOMB! I LOVE it! We will have to hire you to be Princess's personal seamster (is that a word?) when she gets ready to go on her first trip! I can't sew a button on without sustaining injury.

Tom, it's really not fair that you were bestowed ALL of my crafty talent. :( ;) :teeth:

Seriously, I just made a mess of the felt mat Alyssa's preschool teacher gave me. I can't even use puffy fabric paint. :rotfl: At least Alyssa will be sitting on it!!!

Poor Jacob! I hope he continues to feel better! :wizard:

Glynis, every time you discuss one of your new recipes, I have visions of your kiddos holding up score cards like on Dancing with the Stars. :rotfl:

Yes. She will sit on it AFTER she presents it to be critiqued and the other kids hold up score cards!:lmao: :rotfl2:

Anne Marie, welcome home!

Great pictures! I can't wait to see more. :goodvibes

Our trip is only three months away!!!

Thanks for all of your continued well-wishes for Alyssa and Matthew. Today, Alyssa didn't have a fever, but Matthew had one all day. He wasn't too fussy though. Hopefully his temperature will be back to normal tomorrow.

So i cant sleep so decided to look at stuff for our cruise!
I wanted to see if anyone had been to any of the islands we are g oing to and if they had any hints on what to see, what to do , etc

Were leaving out of San Juan and going to St Thomas and St Maarten the first two days--we have been to these islands already, but the next three are the new ones!

St Johns....St Lucia..and Barbados...

anyone visited them before?

Thanks Elizabeth!

I prefer the word "tailor". Sounds a little more masculine! Not that sewing yards and yards of ruffles is masculine or anything!;) :rotfl:

Sorry I can't help you Jen...I've never been to those places, let alone a cruise.

I'm seeking reviews too:

Can anyone tell me about of Disney on Ice, Princess Classics? Do a lot of girls dress up?

And speaking of princesses, I had bought 6-7 costumes on clearance after last Halloween for Alyssa to play dress-up. Of course, she still doesn't dress herself daily, so I've never given them to her, but I decided to try a few on her this morning to get some ideas for Halloween. I bought the XS size, which is a 4-5, and the Mulan and Jasmine costumes were huge, but the Belle dress fits her nicely. She wouldn't take it off! So, I think she's going to be Belle for Halloween, and we're going to make some make-shift costumes to accompany her (me = Featherduster, Kevin = Lumiere, and Matthew = Cogsworth).

Please send me some virtual craftiness DDA! :goodvibes

Hey! You can whip up a mean batch of frosted sugar cookies!

I call that pretty remarkable!

Amy, I think your ideas for Halloween sound neat!

DW and I were trying to decided tonight if we wanted to dress up for MNSSHP.
We just don't have any ideas yet!

Leighanna wants to be Tinker Bell, but in no way shape or form am I wearing green tights as DW had suggested!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :rotfl:

When Alyssa was Tinker Bell, Kevin dressed up like John and I was Wendy.

Denise and John wore our costumes last year...I can ask her if she still has them if you are interested. :)

Look how little she was! :goodvibes

And don't worry, Kevin had shorts on under his nightgown. ;)

I'm virtually throwing my bland Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop popcorn at you!!! :lmao:

Missed me, missed me! Nyah nyah nyah!:rotfl2:

DS was Peter Pan one year. He wore brown leggings. Everyone kept calling him Robin Hood, which I thought was odd. The costume was from the Disney Store, so it isn't like I missed the mark with my homemade costume. The year we went to MNSSHP he had a pirate costume (pretty elaborate) and people though he was Aladdin as Prince Ali.:confused3

Kevin is in touch with his feminine side...he does hair now. :rotfl:

That was a bow from one of Matthew's birthday presents.

Matthew is finally growing some hair. Please excuse his messy face...this was a post-breakfast picture. :goodvibes
