thanks vicki. now that i see how its done i remember it now. just needed a refresherI'm happy to help you out with the problem. The only problem with making it up is that the answers aren't nice & even but here it is.
You want to add equations together so that x or y are 0. Since y is positive in one and y is negative in the other, I proceeded as follows.
1st equation – multiple both sides by 4
4(8x+7y)=(4)18 => 32x+28y=72
2nd equation – multiple both sides by 7
7(17x-4y)=7(27) => 119x-28y=189
Add resulting equations together and then solve for x by dividing both sides by 151
32x+28y=72
+ 119x-28y=189
------------------
151x -0y = 261 => (151x)/151 = (261)/151 => x = 261/151
Put x in one of the equations and solve for y:
32 (261/151) + 28 y = 72 => 8352/151 + 28y = 72
=> 28y = 72 – 8352/151 => 28y = 10872/151 – 8352/151
=> 28y = 2520/151 => y = 2520/4228
Put x and y in the equation and verify it works.
8(261/151) + 7(2520/4228) = 18 Yes
17 (261/151) – 4(2520/4228) = 27 Yes

i agree with that statement. teachers ARE so underpaid, underappreciated and overworked its crazy. then the thing that irritates me is all the extra c*** that the government wants the teachers to do and kids to learn. during my observations while in college stuff i learned in 2 grade kindergarten was learning. i was shocked. some of the stuff to me is not developmentally appropriate. let a 6 year old be a 6 year old not 8.Happy to help. I love Math. I had planned on being a math teacher when I was a kid. I can remember being in 2nd or 3rd grade and playing math with my friends. Unfortunately, I was talked out of it when I gradauted from high school. Teaching jobs were hard to come by when I graduated from high school. My high school math teacher told me that teachers were underpaid, overworked and underappreciated. My principal and parents all told me to go into something else and I could always fall back on teaching. Well, I didn't find anything else I was interested in until I was in my mid 20's when I found I love computer programming. I know that it's never too late but the passion isn't there any more to be a teacher. So ... any chance I get to play with math is appreciated.
Does anyone buy the entertainment book. DO you think its worth it?
Welcome Home Anne Marie,
Love the pictures, can't wait to see more!
By this time tomorrow we should be at POP! Brandon is really getting excited now, about riding the plane that is!![]()

Work took two hours longer than I had planned but I only have to do a couple of small last minute loads of laundry, and pack our morning toiletries after we use them, and then we are off!
Take care of yourselves and be ready to give a recap,
Debbie

We get it nearly every year....from a school or a church(different price points) and use enough coupons to cover it...sometimes by a TON and sometimes by a little. I've used the online service this year for the first time and saved a ton on there!!!

Theresa who did you buy it from this year?
That was SO cool that we got to go in the back door with you! I had never taken my kids on the Great Movie ride as I was they would be afraid and wouldnt know too many of the movies but they really seemed to enjoy it. They all did so many new rides this year. Last year Emma HATED Soarin and even the day we went on it she said she would NEVER go on again but when we did go on she said shed ride between Lizzy & me and she LOVED it! If she got scared on any ride (like PotC) she could just growl at the "bad" guys and be fine.When we got off we went to look in the ToT shop. DS HATES ToT but he likes the shop. We found Bernadette & her family on the path to the shop, so we chatted witht hem. DS agreed to stay with Bernadette's DH & DD while Brenadette, her DS & older DD & I went on ToT. They had Fast Passes already and I had DH's Dream Pass. We got a sequence that wasn't too bad, so that was fun. After that we walked down towards the parade, but we couldn't see over the people very well. There was a Dream Team CM with pins, so I stopped to look. The pin I chose was the Magic Pin! We all got to go on Movie Ride! We went in through the exit - no line at all! I have always wanted to see the cowboy scene (in all the times we have only gotten the gangster). The CM said the car pulling out was gangster, and so was the one behind it. The one after that MIGHT be cowboy, but they weren't sure. We took the next car because if they weren't SURE it would be cowboy I wasn't going to wait. We went from Movie Ride to Muppets then we went back to RnRC because Bernadette's DD wanted to ride for the first time. She liked it VERY much.
We went to Cookes (the CS side of Raglan Road) at DTD one night and when I went up to throw away some trash someone stole my chair. I dont know why DH didnt say anything-he probably didnt notice as he was watching the kids and I couldnt believe the guy didnt give it back when he saw me come back. I was tempted to take it back when he went to get some naptkins but we were leaving in a few minutes.DS just remonded me of something.
The day we had lunch at Tusker House was their last day before the remodel. The seating is always a little tight in there, but they also had some of the seating roped off so it was really tight. The 3 of us were at a table for 2 because that was all we could find. When we were finished DS and I stood up and walked over to the exit while DH gathered up his backpack and drink. This Asian woman came over to him and said "You go away!" She obviously wanted the table!I didn't hear her so I don't know if she was ASKING him or TELLING him. Either way she chased DH away!

Ellen-you could still do the AP for Bob and save the PH he has for another trip since it won't expire.I just spent some time working on the October trip and sending the itinerary to my sister and brother and his family. Hopefully I did not overwhelm them! I also was looking into the possibility of renewing my AP and getting one for Bob since we have no time constraints next year as to when we can travel to the F&W Festival in September, October or November. If we both had APs we could go in September or earlier in October and use the APs we have. Of course, he already has a PH with no expiration that has days left on it. Could that be applied to an AP or is that not doable any more?
ETA: I have pretty much answered my own question. I don't think it can be done anymore according to every single website I have visited in the past hour or so!
Also, I never get Passholder emails, and FORGET about the Mickey Monitor! It is always telling me to go to the Passholder website and register my email address to make certain that I get those emails. But, for the life of me I can't find where on the site one would do that! I am already registered with Disney.com, although my registration name is not my email address be cause way back when you had to use something other than your email to register. Any hints, oh great DDA?
Belated Birthday Wishes!I will catch up with everyone tomorrow - but our trip to NYC was great, I turned 30 without too much drama (thanks for all the kind birthday wishes!), but the week is running full speed ahead, and I need to get to bed (after I finally order flowers for Jonathan's grandmother's 90th b-day; of course, he's dead asleep in bed)
I am so happy everyone, I met my weight loss goal plus a couple extra pounds. I am down to 128 lbs![]()

Not a drastic change, but still noticeable to my coworkers and family.
I have since lost another 7 lbs. since Baltimore, and am trying for a few more before Disney!
I vow not to cringe at any more pictures of me in my Happy Place!
This is the one time that enabling didn't cost me any money!![]()
OK….I guess I really need to make my color coded matrix of fun for my Jan trip. I did call and make 2 ADR’s for Joe’s actual birthday-CP for breakfast and CM for dinner. I know he also wants to go to Japan, Garden Grill, and Sci Fi. I wanted to take him to Brown Derby. SO I do have a few more ADR’s to make.I just made my ADR's for Jan.![]()
John will be, 2 are character meals.

What a handsome little boy! My SIL ran her first marathon at Disney in 2004 after training with the Leukemia Society-my FIL (her dad) had Leukemia-he passed away in 1999 when Lizzy was just 4 months old. She’s done several others since and has started doing triathalons. I think she’ll be 60 this year and she’s in such great shape! She's the "do-er" of our family (a lot like Deb I think). She's always got a million projects going at once and always finishes all of them.The local newspaper did a story on my friend whose son has leukemia. His dad is running a half-marathon to raise money for the Leukemia Society. Here's the link. She still hasn't heard back from MAW whether their wish is granted to go to WDW in December.

No Crystal Palace? Have you ever eaten there? The food is really good. We love both breakfast and dinner there!Garden Grill and Liberty Tree Tavern. Garden Grill we have done before, LTT first time.
It was so fun having dinner with your family. The kids had a blast!I am sure you know by now since Elizabeth got home already but we got to have dinner with Elizabeth & Bernadette & their families. We had such a nice time & the kids got along great. My kids kept calling them their new friends. We all saw Fantasmic togther too.
We went to the P&PP on Friday. It poured!!! The parade & fireworks were delayed 1.5 hours so it took a chunk of time out of the party but we did have fun. The kids got to see Captn Jack & got lots of loot. Next time we do a event party I am going to buy the tickets the day of because I always pick the day that it rains.
We are going to try to get to the LOEMH tomorrow but the kids are still up & kicking so I don't know if they will fall asleep soon.
OMG....SOOOOO cute!One last thing before I go for the night. I am working on a slideshow, thanks Elin!, of Lucy's first 2 months and need to
finish uploading pics.

Excuse the spit up on her shirt!
Night all!!
Is Kindergarten even mandatory?They are already making a stink about us taking her out of school for our vacation, even though the teacher said that it would probably be o.k.!
I really don't want a truant officer knocking at my door!
