Does anyone buy the entertainment book. DO you think its worth it?

I buy one every year, Jennifer. I save enough on one car rental alone to make it worth it. There are coupons for free weekend days, which can save up wards of $30! And they are unlimited. There are other things you can use it for, and I find it to be a great supplement to other money-saving things like restaurant.com and AAA.

ETA: I buy mine through MyPoints.com and get points for purchasing it so that is a money saver of sorts. I usually use those points to purchase Rainforest Cafe' GCs or Marriott GCs if we are driving to WDW that particular year.

Well all my laundry from the trip is finally done.

We took the kids clothes shopping school today. The mall was a zoo. I just have to get them sneakers & they are all set. Sophie got a princess backpack & lunchbag from the Disney store today. On sale $9 for the backpack & $5 for the lucnhbag. We made sure there backpacks have all the school supplies they need.

I am still uploading pictures into photo bucket & its very slow. I was hoping to do a trip report too but time is just slipping through my fingers.

I just can't seem to get back into "reality"..my mind is still at Disney World.:rolleyes1

Well goodnight!!!

My laundry is still on a UPS truck somewhere. :lmao: I suppose I should have done the 4 loads that I do have calling my name but I've still got tomorrow. I forgot to take the tracking receipt from my boxes so I hope they really do make it home but who would want my dirty clothes?

I am working on adding special borders to all my photopass photos. I am up from the original 369 to over 1,000 and I've still got about 100 photos to add boders too. It is painfully slow and gets slower and slower as I add more photos.

Lizzy wanted a new backpack this year. She wanted a nice plain navy one. She's moving up to a new school and I think she's afraid the big kids will tease her if she uses her princess or pooh backpacks. I found her a nice one at Marshals and they had a rolling Cars backpack on clearance for $10 that I got for Emma. She had a rolling Sponge Bob one but it was very small and really too small for a full size coloring book. SO I really had to get Joe a new one too.

I took Lizzy to Talbots yesterday too. I got her a really nice dress, shorts for next year, birthday gifts for MIL, pants and shorts for Joe, and some accessories. All very good prices!

Lizzy got a supplies list for the first time this year. She needed a pencil box, scissors, crayons, pencils, odor free dry erase markers, an eraser or old sock. I'm glad I already bought most of the stuff on those crazy sales (1 cent pencils, 20 cent crayons....). The dry erase markers were the only thing I didn't have. The list said 5 so Lizzy didn't want me to buy the 4 pack.:confused3 I got the 12 pack but told her she could only take 5 to school.

She has to bring a 12 x 18 "all about me" poster to school so we'll be making that tomorrow. Joe has to fill out an "all about me" questionare. They start on Tuesday. Emma has a special aquarium event at her school Friday, has short days next Mon & Tue and starts her regular schedule next Wednesday. She'll go Mon through Thu 12:30 to 3:00. She'll have the same wonderful teachers Joe had his second year.

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding!!!

We just booked SW round trip for $98.80!!! out of our preferred BWI!!!!!!! :woohoo: :dance3: :dance3:
:woohoo: AWESOME!!!!

You are right Tammi....there are some parents who need that info.
I bet none of them are at the open house though.:confused3

Bernadette, I feel your pain. I know you are buried under ledgers and trial balances yourself. It's budget time again!!!:woohoo: I'm getting mine ready for committee by ealy October. They might not be able to vote on it until November, but it will be done, discussed and dispersed before I go to Disney. I will drink and be merry without worrying about the budget!!!:yay:
I don't want to think about all the work I've got waiting for me when I return on Tuesday. I've got about 2 weeks to pull everything together for the first round. We won't be done until 10/31. I so wanted to join you all in Oct but I'm looking forward to my Nov trip after the budget is done.

I am exhausted from my two days of meetings.

I'm making headway today :cool1: Laundry is underway, bathroom is clean (I hate cleaning the bathroom) and the kids backpacks are in the entry ready for tomorrow. I even pulled out outfits. Now if I can just stay motivated. I really want to make these mickey lamp posts as we saw them in Fort Wilderness and my Mom loved them too. I think I'll make them one for Christmas.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=865702&page=2

I think they'd look nice on our new deck too ;)

Chuck & I plan on making these as well. We want one for our camper. I think they are so cool.

I have to run and play a board game with the family. I just wanted to put this up.

SO COOL!!!!

So I have survived the service unit meeting tonight and on Tuesday. I also survived our coffee klatch with the CEO, VP of operations, director of membership and 2 other membership managers. I got praised by one of my service unit managers in front of everyone. In addition myself and the other 2 membership managers were told that our Coffee Klatch should be the example for any future coffee klatches. They kept saying we had too much food and went above and beyond but most of the food was gone. Apparently at the others the food really wasn't eaten.

People were invited to coffee with the CEO so we did not want plastic jugs and trays, we didn't want it to look like refreshments at a school play. We had a glass punch bowl, cut glass trays, crystal ice bucket, fresh cut flowers on the table in glass vases, etc. Let's just say the others before us did not have the same idea for coffee with the CEO.

Sending :wizard: :wizard:  to everyone.

I should head to bed, tonight was the earliest I have gotten home this week. However I am not tired.
Great job!:woohoo:

How's the packing? I'm sure you'll have an awesome trip!

Thanks everyone.
My mom, sister and I get along great. I think its because dad was a truck driver for years (coast to coast) so it was just the 3 of us a lot. They are closing Sept. 21 and we will move them in on the 22 (which happends to be moms birthday. :) )
That will my our 23rd anniversary.

Colby is still 4 so he can't start Kindergarten until next year. He will do a 3 day preschool program, but it doesn't start until November. So until 11:15 each morning when we run out to pick up Logan it is just he and I. I'm hoping to get him writing his numbers and letters, but he has NO interest as of yet.
Emma had no interest in writing either but then Joe started holding school for her. I was amazed how fast she learned once she tried it.

Hello everyone!

Finally got word about the Jimmy. It is the power train control module, blah, blah, blah lol Anyway it is going to cost around $300 & we should have it back by Tues. or Wed. Not as bad as I was thinking. I will just be glad to have it back, I really hate Gary driving my truck to his work sites & I know he does too with Tinkerbell all over it :rotfl:

I am off work till Wed. :dance3:
Glad it isn't as bad as you have feared. I know nothing so "power train" sounds bad and expensive to me.:rotfl:

Does anoyone know from which website Tammi rents her strollers? It just occurred to me that my DNephew probably will need a stroller at WDW in October and I bet they won't plan to bring one from Massachusetts.

ETA: Is is "A Baby's Best Friend?"
I have had very good luck with A Baby's Best Friend but like Steffy I find a stroller worth the hassle at the airport. I know exactly where that child is, can use the stroller to carry a few carryons and have the older kids hold on to each side of the stroller so I know where they are too.

Debbie have a wonderful time! :dance3:

Debbie, I hope you guys have a magical time! And I hope the flight lives up to Brandon's expectations!:rotfl2:

Bernadette - I am glad your kids weren't scared of the Movie Ride. Since DS was 8 on his first trip it is tricky for me to gauge what is and isn't scary to younger kids.

Jennifer - I have never bought an Entertainment Book. I did have 2 free online, but I think they expired. The nice thing about the online one is that you can print coupons for cities other than your own - like Orlando.

Vicki - It is a book of coupons for restaurants and entertainment. The hard copies of the books are city specific. My problem is there are restaurants we go to in the book but a lot of times they are location specific, and the locations where we can use the coupon aren't locations near us!

Heidi - Momboss got a pecan pie from her work that was shipped from a place in Louisiana. Dadboss is out of town so she asked me if I wanted the pie because she wouldn't be able to eat it. I am not big on pecan pie, but DH likes it. He said the pie is very good. I tasted it, and it is pretty good. Not that I have anything to compare it to. There isn't a website, but there is a phone number if you want to order a pie.;)

Anne Marie - You rock! :thumbsup2 I am still not finished with our laundry from the trip! I am getting there, though! Maybe by this time tomorrow. DH still has clothes in one suitcase, so he really needs to address that. I got 3 suitcases put away. There are 4 left in the hallway. 2 of them are empty, 1 has DH's dirty clothes in it, and one has a few odds and ends of DH's but that stuff is clean.
DS has announced that he will not wear shorts to school, so we will need to go hunting for pants soon. I think he has 4 pairs that fit properly. And about 10 pairs of shorts that are just going to be taking up closet space.:headache: Since they are "uniform" shorts he won't wear them on weekends. His best friend has a younger brother, but the brother is bigger than DS so we can't give him DS's hand-me-downs.

I had a very nice time with my friend. She did go through the product presentation but I told her I am really not interested and that was the end of it. The only way to try the products is to order them and pay to have them shipped, then pay to ship them back if you don't like them. And the actual price of the products isn't disclosed in the introduction unless you order the "starter kit" for $200. If I am going to spend $200 I am going to PICK the products, not let them send me whatever they have on hand for me to try! Anyway, it was good to see her and hear what has been going on.

My MIL struck again this evening.

Bernadette - Sounds like the rest of the trip was fun!! We really enjoyed meeting all of you!:goodvibes
Thanks for sending me the link to the PhotoPass! You guys got some awesome photos! I love the P&P pics of you guys, and the pics from AK. And the Epcot mask pic!:rotfl2: We blew through AK so quickly we didn't get any pics! I have to tell you I don't think the girl in Pic #1 belongs to any of us. I don't recognize her, do you?:confused3
I agree that this year was hotter than last year. I thought maybe I imagined it.
Yay for Joe riding Everest & Space Mtn!! I don't like Space Mtn. (DS LOVES it) but I really like Everest!:)
That picture is my friend MaryK's niece from my May trip. I don't know why that one random photo is still there. She's a really great kid!

I really want to get that CD order in this weekend as I don't know how much time I'll have once I get back to work.

Chuck & I weren't sure we were going to be able to go to Disney in March due to all the recent car, camera, etc. issues that we've been dealing with. Yesterday, I found out that some of the extra hours I'm putting in qualifies for overtime. Normally my level is exempt from overtime but they put in a special exception. It is possible that there will now be money for Disney in March. Woohoo!!! :woohoo:
:woohoo: Great news!

Hi everyone. We had a long and exhausting day. I'm going back to catch up. Hope everyone is well.

Welcome home, Anne Marie!

every year we try and get my uncle to just give up making thanksgiving dinner and go out but he wants to make the dinner. lots easier to let restuarant cook and clean up. oh well.

I'm going to talk to my sister tonight.... wish me luck.:goodvibes

Welcome Home Anne Marie,

Love the pictures, can't wait to see more!

By this time tomorrow we should be at POP! Brandon is really getting excited now, about riding the plane that is! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Work took two hours longer than I had planned but I only have to do a couple of small last minute loads of laundry, and pack our morning toiletries after we use them, and then we are off!

Take care of yourselves and be ready to give a recap,

Debbie
Have a great trip Debbie!!!
Hope Brandon has the trip of a lifetime!!!
:dance3: :dance3:

And my brother has confirmed that Mitchel will not use a stroller. He said, and I quote, "no stroller. my back when he gets tired.."

We will see how quickly we rent a stroller in one of the parks! :rolleyes1
I think a single stroller is $10/day and they also sell a nice looking umbrella stroller for $40.:thumbsup2

Is ME still picking people up 4 hours before their airline departure times?
We were on the 3:00pm bus for a 5:45pm flight. We had checked our luggage at the hotel in the morning. After we made 3 more hotel stops it was a bit tight on time. We went to the bathroom, all had a last drink before we threw away our water bottles, and found HUGE lines at security. We were at the gate less than 2 minutes before they started boarding.

Bernadette,
Ok how many pictures did you take?
You have a great camera!!!
I took about 1,400-about 4 1/2 GB's of memory. We had just over 200 photopass photos. A few very good ones.

it is so nice to have Bernadette and Anne Marie home, isn't it? :goodvibes
NO!!!! I don't want to be home and go back to work.:rotfl:

but thanks for the kind thoughts.....

I DON'T ITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance3: :dance3:

We are home from a delightful day in Richmond.

Welcome to Canal Walk!

Olivia got 5 shots when she saw her Dr on Tues. measles, Mumps, Rubella and Chicken pox were 2 of them these were both 2nd shots for them. Well wed. I noticed a bump on her stomach and one on her thigh, Thur she had 3 on her thigh. Well this morning she had about 7 of them on her stomach with yellowish heads she was not complaining of itching though and no fever. By tonight she had a few more on her legs, bottom and back. When I called the Pediatrician earlier in the evening and explained what she had they told me its Chicken pox and some people break out with a mild case after they get the vaccines. At first glance this morning I freaked a little thinking they were measles, I think we will skip church in the morning,
Poor Olivia! My kids didn't get Chicken Pox with the shot but it seemed like they reacted to that shot more than any other. Joe & Lizzy had to get a booster for it this year and didn't seem to show any reaction this time. I know the measles when pregnant fear too! Joe had a severe alergic reaction to penicillin when I was pregnant with Emma. He had been on it for 8 days so I thought for sure he had measles. We later had him skin tested to confirm his alergy and then we also found out that Lizzy is alergic but she's alergic to a different component. The alergist said it is not heriditary-just strange coincedence that they are both alergic. Emma's only had it once in her life and had a slight rash so I'm not convinced she's not alergic too.

Bob and I are going to spend this gloriously gorgeous day in Richmond on a James River Canal Cruise!

canalcruises.jpg

Kristin will go with us and then we will head to dinner at a favorite spot in downtown Richmond. They have quite a diverse menu but their beer list is 14 pages long! The staff is a little quirky, just like us!

locations-down-int.jpg

The thing we love about this place is the strip of ice that runs the whole length of the bar. Since we like our beer ice cold, this is a real draw for us! ::yes::

Music20Hall20opening20Weekend20022.jpg
Hope you had a great day!!!!

I guess they are doing chicken pox boosters now before the kids start school. DS had a vaccine at 15 mos, then in 2nd grade he came down with actual pox on Easter Sunday. The Dr. was going to give him a booster this year but then said he didn't need it since he had actual pox. In a school of 900 kids he was the only one who had them. I had to fill out a big packet from the Health Dept. with questions like "Where did your child contract the virus?" Gee, since they are contagious BEFORE the rash comes out how on earth would I know where he caught them?

Elizabeth how do you get the online book. That would be better I think. Since I am hoping FIL will give us season passes to Sea world for Christmas.

Nope!!

We have textured ceiling and they are a big pain in the rear. If you find a way to easily clean them let me know;)

I knew I was forgetting something! Welcome home Anne Marie! Love the pics!

People clean ceilings?:confused3

:rotfl:

Have a nice Trip!!! I hope Brandon has the best trip ever.

Chuck & I plan on making these as well. We want one for our camper. I think they are so cool.

Cool, we can compare Mickey Heads. Did you see that we've booked our trip? We'll be at FW from June 28 - July 18. We are very excited. I think i want to try to make a Mickey Light and use some creativity to come up with a Minnie version too. I'm still playing around with ideas and haven't found or even looked for the parts yet.

Chris and I fly in on Friday. I think we're going to do AK straight from the airport. We really are only interested in Everest and the Safari. From there we will either do Epcot or MK. Maybe Pleasure Island much later in the evening.
