Jennifer the cake mix cookies might be an idea for you. They are so easy to make & so many different varieties of flavors to choose from.

Just checking in....

It has been tough here lately....I kept trying to get a hold of Bill's mother, after a day we went over there and found her laying on the bedroom floor. She was in the hospital for a week....she is too far gone cognitively, so we had to put her in a nursing home. We did this on Saturday. I am having terrible guilt feelings. Just going to place gives me a panic attack. We need to clean out her place in the next 3 days:scared1::scared1::scared1: whereas all her money will now go to the nursing home. It's a heartbreaking situation.

I haven't made a single t shirt for the trip....but I am looking forward to going.

As I told Deb via PM...her Mickey/Minnie lights are FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:wizard:

oh yeah Their is a thread all about cake mix cookies. Quite yummy sounding.

Well I got up at 6:00 AM CST to check whether we were working today. There was nothing on the official website so I looked in my email and nothing there either. I went back to the official website. Lo & Behold: they have settled it. It kind of irks me that they posted at 7:05 AM EST (most of Michigan time) that we had to be at work at 8:00 AM. I'm glad we have work today but they sure are expecting a lot, aren't they? Less than an hour to prepare & go to work. For me, it wasn't an issue but those with kids, etc. have a lot more to deal with than I do.

While I am glad the situation is resolved I am kind of sorry that you didn't get ANY time off!:rotfl: Hopefully people didn't rush out and make plans since things were so uncertain. If they did make plans I hope they were able to cancel them and get to work!

Kristine, if you put anything else on your plate you are going to need a bigger plate! Both of my grandmothers had to go to nursing homes, as did FIL for awhile. It does make you feel horribly guilty, but sometimes that is the best solution. We TRIED to look after FIL in an apartment near us but DH and I were in our early 20's and both worked full time. It did NOT go well. In the end we put him in an adult foster home that we found through Adult Protective Services. I don't know if every state has a program like that or not. He lived in a house with 3 or 4 other elderly folks and there was a couple who took care of them with assistance from home health nurses.

Mia is such a sweet kitten, she is sleeping in my arms right now :goodvibes

She sleeps with me every night, as soon as my head hits the pillow she is there lol

She is not spoiled or anything ;)

Arabella can be sweet when she feels like it. Or she can be the evil demon cat!:rotfl2:

Princess is at school, I have already been to Target, and it is VERY quiet here.:rolleyes1 If I had remembered to bring the box I need to mail I could go mail it, but I left it at home.:headache:

I think I should go shop for a new GYN. I called this morning to cancel my appointment and made it clear that I was cancelling because they didn't bother to contact the pharmacy on Friday. Of course I had to leave a voice mail because nobody answered the phone. I still haven't heard back from them. The doctor is fine but her office staff sucks!

Since a bunch of us are staying at POP, will anyone be decorating their window? I was just thinking about it as I have a lime green wipe off board sitting on my kitchen table that could be placed on our room door :rolleyes1 Then I'm thinking how much time will I actually be at POP :confused3

Have you asked friends or mom boss who they use?

I have a recipe for Banana Bread pudding. I think I will add this to his options. I like bread pudding he likes anything with Bananas.

I think I will make a breakfast book as well. I have a couple of Glynis french toast bake recipes and cinnamon roll recipes that I could use.

Actually I was thinking about bringing some Halloween clings. I did a couple years ago with the boy when we stayed at ASMo :)

No. I guess I should. My regular Dr. gave me the name of a guy that she refers to, but I don't like male OB/GYNs. He had a female Dr. practicing with him, but she left and he has since gone through about 3 other partners which makes me wonder what his deal is.:scared: I need to get on my insurance website and see if I can find a female Dr, close to my house, that you don't have to pay for parking. That is one thing that really chaps me about my regular Dr. and my back specialist - I have to pay to park. There is a HUGE complex of medical offices where DS's pediatrician is, but I haven't ever noticed any OB/GYN offices there. Mostly pediatric and dental.

Penny - I enjoyed looking at your pins! I went through your "wants" just to make sure we didn't have anything you are looking for. We don't. I do have the Jack Skellington Christmas light pin but I would never part with it!;) Jack is my soulmate, you know.:goodvibes
I missed listing about 35 of DS's pins. I am going to have to print out his collection and check each listing against his portfolio. That should take several hours.:rolleyes1 And he isn't really even into the pins that much - it is more DH and me.

One time when we were at Pop another DISer had a wipe off board on her door. People would stop by and write little notes to her, so I stopped and left her a note, too.:) We never did meet but it was fun! She said it was really fun to go back to the room and see who had signed the board each day.

I hear you. I hate to pay for parking at Drs. offices. Luckily My OB is a group of 6 women Drs. I like all of them. One of the perks of working in that field. Maybe switch family dr.s to a female as they can do your paps and prescribe your birth control as well.

I think he'll really like this gift! I just tried out a recipe for oatmeal brown sugar pancakes that my kids gave the big thumbs up. If you want it, I'll PM it to you! I'll start funneling any recipes your way that you want!

Kristine - Don't worry about the t-shirts! Just have a great vacation with Bill and know we are here.

I love my GYN!!! She is still in Salt Lake where we used to live, so it takes me 45 minutes to get to her office for visits. Alan keeps asking me to find a doctor closer to our house, but I tell him that once you find a GYN that you trust, it's really hard to change! It's a very personal relationship, and I don't feel like changing that! It's worth it to me to make my appointments, and then shuffle my day around to accomodate that appointment!

I have never made pancakes completely from scratch. I usually buy the box mix that you just add water to. How easy are they from scratch. Any idea and recipes would be great. I am getting excited as it will be a gift all year and relitavly inexpensive.
