Well, I just phoned the foster mom who has our kitty. The first number they gave me is disconnected. I did get through on what I am guessing is her cell phone so I left her a message. This is going to irritate me.
If we had the kitty here I would have been on the phone to our vet when they opened this morning at 8 AM and scheduled her spay. The kitty is old enough to be spayed but the foster just hasn't taken her yet. Hello? Shouldn't that be a pretty high priority? Isn't that her duty as the foster? I would think getting things completed that are necessary for the kitty to be adoptable would be part of the foster agreement. Especially since we already PAID for the kitty and they refuse to allow us to arrange her surgery! Then again they probably have so many animals that they will allow anybody who asks to be a foster, even if they don't stick to the rules.
Really I think the foster should have called ME, and I think she should have called me YESTERDAY to assure me that the kitty would be spayed immediately and turned over to us ASAP. I have never been a foster for a shelter, but it seems to me that asking someone to pay for a pet and then having no communication as to when the pet will be able to go home is a very poor business practice. There isn't an actual "shelter", it is all foster homes who have mobile adoptions at PetsMart on weekends, so there isn't a facility to complain to, just an e-mail address.
So we shall see.
