Well, I just phoned the foster mom who has our kitty. The first number they gave me is disconnected. I did get through on what I am guessing is her cell phone so I left her a message. This is going to irritate me.

If we had the kitty here I would have been on the phone to our vet when they opened this morning at 8 AM and scheduled her spay. The kitty is old enough to be spayed but the foster just hasn't taken her yet. Hello? Shouldn't that be a pretty high priority? Isn't that her duty as the foster? I would think getting things completed that are necessary for the kitty to be adoptable would be part of the foster agreement. Especially since we already PAID for the kitty and they refuse to allow us to arrange her surgery! Then again they probably have so many animals that they will allow anybody who asks to be a foster, even if they don't stick to the rules.

Really I think the foster should have called ME, and I think she should have called me YESTERDAY to assure me that the kitty would be spayed immediately and turned over to us ASAP. I have never been a foster for a shelter, but it seems to me that asking someone to pay for a pet and then having no communication as to when the pet will be able to go home is a very poor business practice. There isn't an actual "shelter", it is all foster homes who have mobile adoptions at PetsMart on weekends, so there isn't a facility to complain to, just an e-mail address.:headache: So we shall see.

I am not cut out to do outside work. I got suburn on my face, my nose won't stop running, I am coughing, and my eyes itch. John is on his own, I'll keep the inside the house clean, he can do the outside.

Sounds good to me! I hope you feel better after you have been inside awhile!

Oh Elizabeth, I am starting to get a bad feeling about this.
Sounds like they took your money and want to keep the kitty too. I hope you hear from the foster mom soon.

So ya all want to help me spend my birthday money? ;)
What shall we buy?

No, I'm saving that for tomorrow. Bob just left. He taped the 2 hour Grey's Anatomy for me and we watched it. McDreamy needs to be smacked! After I catch up I'm heading to bed. I have a 10AM appt. with my atty. :sad2:  :scared: tomorrow so I must get my rest for that. ;) Hey, Jen....wanna trade places? I'll go to your interview if you go to my atty. :thumbsup2

I hope all went well with the attorney!

Heidi - If I don't hear from her I will e-mail and call the contact for the group and tell them if they do not put me in touch with the foster and guarantee a date for us to have the cat that we will expect a full refund. If they won't cooperate I can either have Momboss contact them (since she is our attorney) or we will dispute the charge with the credit card company. I tend to think the foster is probably very flaky. I was on their website and read through the requirements to be a foster. It just says you must spend 20 minutes a day with the animal and take the animal to it's appointments. The loophole here is that there ISN'T an appointment! If the woman works during the week then it is going to be very difficult for her to get the cat to the vet.

Guess I am the weird one then, as I like moving. We actually did a lot of moving when I was a kid.

The only good thing I have to say about it is that Alan is a professional about it! He boxes everything neatly, and well! He labels every box so there's no confusion about where things go!

Our last move was done when I was 6 months pregnant with the twins. I felt really badly, because I had been put on bedrest. I could only be up 1 hour a day. Alan had to do all the packing, loading, moving, and unpacking. What a good guy!

Good Morning DDA!

Welcome home Tammi and Stephanie! Sounds like you all had great trips!:yay:

Cute pictures of the kids Tammi! I can't wait until we leave! I think Leighanna will love dinner at Chef Mickey's! Sorry about the temporary loss of your keys! I am glad that there were plenty of seats available on the next flight!

Jen, Good-luck today with your interview!:wizard: I know you will do fine!:thumbsup2

One more day of work and I will be on vacation.
I have a lot of things to do around the house and some more yard work that I have been meaning to get done! I hope that it won't rain the whole time I am off!
I purchased an outside play center for Leighanna, and I am going to attempt to put it together with the help of my two brothers on Wed. The description says that it should only take 3 hours to assemble with 2 people working on it. We shall see! I have a feeling that it will be an all day project.

Leighanna wants to go to Kings Island, so we might do that on the weekend.

Lots of :wizard: :grouphug: to all that need it!

Hi, Tom! It's nice to see you! So, besides the playset, do you have any great plans for your vacation?

How's your wife doing, these days?

Good morning, DDA! It's a beautiful day here in Utah! We have sun, we have blue sky, and it's just gorgeous!!!! A far cry from the snow we had on Saturday.

I hope all is going well with you! I'm planning on staying close to home for the next little while. Gas prices went sky high over the weekend! Yikes!!!! Makes me want to rethink the bicycle thing.

Tammi -- sending PD to you for the meeting. My best friend from childhood is meeting with her X2B today for the first time this afternoon. They have two kids -- a boy who just turned 8 and a girl who will be 6 in August.

Loved the first installment of your trip report!

Elizabeth -- I hope you hear back from the foster mom ASAP and that your DH gets his route all settled and that people buy a lot this week to offset the check. When is it they bid on routes?

Janet -- Andrew has SI issues, so I bought him a pair of sliders last year, but he's gotten better about sliding and decided he didn't want to wear them -- they caused more SI issues then they helped...:confused3 Anyway, what size sliders to you need? I'll be happy to send them to you if they are the right size.

When I went to bed last night, it was 81 degrees. When I got up this morning it was 81 degrees. It has rained for two weeks, and they are calling for more rain/thunderstorms all of this week. The boys already have a lot of games to make-up -- I hope they don't get rained out this week too!

Sending PD to all of those who need it!

Have a great day, DDA!

i need to ask for some MAJOR prayers. my attendants friends brother who is 12 went to the eye doctor on friday because he told his mom that he saw blood in his eyes. the eye doctor said to get to the ER immediately. come to find out he has a cancerous brain tumor and he is having major brain surgery tomorrow. the outcomes of the surgery are he'll be fine then do radiation/chemo, die, become paralyzed, or have mental challenges. so please pray that the surgery goes well and he will be okay. and if he does pass (which we are praying not) that his family will have comfort knowing he is with Christ. I will let you know his name later i didnt get that from my attendant earlier.
Karen prayers said

Hi, Marci!
Yep. Hot and sticky out there, isn't it?
They told DH they won't put his route up for bid until October. He isn't sure what formula they used to arrive at that, but whatever. Nobody bid to replace Toad, so heand the other driver she covered are just out of luck for now. They can run their own routes and make extra money, or they can take their sceduled days off and have some slouch do a crummy job.
The more I think about the kitten being held hostage until they decide to spay her the madder I get. If I don't hear something by tomorrow I will be calling and e-mailing.
I hope the boys are able to get some games in! DS has Field Day Friday, but I think they designated next Friday as the rain date.

Yay! Now you are ready to start having fun (as soon as you can take the snow chains off the camper tires) :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

:rotfl:

We will be camping 8/9-12.
Fort Wilderness
:dance3:
Maybe we could meet you on the 9th or 10th at the Trails end or at the campfire movie. We love Fort Wilderness and would love to stop by. Let us know.

Deb

Hi all....I've been MIA all weekend as we switched cable companies Saturday and boy have we had some issues.:headache: It was a mess but it is finally straightened out.

Friday night we went to my girlfriend's DD ballet recital. Molly was entranced with the whole show. So we've signed her up for dance class over the summer.

Saturday was soccer, the cable fiasco and cleaning the house and yard.

Sunday I went to a birthday party for my girlfriend's mom, it was her 50th. Eric took the girls' to a birthday party.

So I haven't had a chance to catch up and probably won't as this week is busy. If there is anything important please let me know.

Sending  and :wizard: in the meantime to everyone.

Well the interview is over...they said it was more of a screening interview..they asked me about 5 or 6 questions and talked ab out my student teaching and that was it...they will call if interested for a 2nd interview..whew!!

I'm glad that you have the first one under your belt. Future ones will be much easier. I'm sorry that you found out this was just a preliminary interview, but I hope it turns into a job interview soon. :wizard:

I've had a productive morning. I paid bills, made shirts, picked up a bit and I'm on the third load of laundry. I'm working at 5 so I am hoping to get more done before then. I would really like to lay out in the sun, but I must keep my priorities straight and get some things done around here. We also walked to the post office this morning and I received our new Mickey scrapbook and some of the page protectors  The ebay seller is supposed to mail the rest this week as they were on backorder :confused3 I guess his feedback will have to wait until I receive the rest.

Deb
