The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 25

I have been trying to upload some pictures from Kathrin's new apartment. Photobucket keeps telling me they are "successfully uploaded" but there is a small part of the picture at the top and the rest is a gray mass. And when I try to resize them it doesn't appear to be working properly either! So, here is what I can get on here so far.

In the city of Richmond there is a street called Monument Avenue. It is a 4-lane downtown avenue with a large median in the middle. In that median are statues to famous Virginians (those by birth or those by "adoption"). Her apartment is on a boulevard that intersects Monument Avenue and Stonewall Jackson's monument sits right outside her apartment!

That is a beautiful building! I love it.

Good morning all! It's looking to be a nice day for a ball game, though hopefully not too hot. I think we'll be in the shade most of the day so that is very good. Still, I had better go dig out the sunscreen from the week's variety of bags. Wonder if it's in that bag of shampoo, conditioner, socks and underwear that never made it to the house I was sleeping at? Good thing there was a washing machine and other people's shampoo to borrow or we could have had problems.

As far as the party, will you guys have to be up very early to start traveling? do you think he'll sleep on the car or plane ride?

If there is any way you can take it easy up until it is almost party time you might be OK. Does your DGS ever stay up late at home? DS can NEVER stay awake past 10 PM, so the late nights are hard for him. Brother, on the other hand, can be up until midnight when there isn't anything exciting going on! So it depends on your little guy's personality. It's a Monday, isn't it? So crowds would just be resort guests. Locals will have work and school the next day.

Nick loved the campout though he is very tired now. They did a lot and he made good progress toward his tenderfoot rank. He is happy.

Now we're heading out to work on the camper.

I just noticed DS has a rash all over his upper thighs. It might be something from camping. I sent him in to shower. If it doesn't look better tomorrow he may have to go to the Dr. 14 days of school left and then he is finished with elementary!

Thanks for the lovely comments about Kathrin's building and neighborhood, everyone. If I ever get photobucket to cooperate I will post a couple pictures from the inside too.

Her Dad and I are VERY pleased with this one too! Let's just say that a couple of other places she has chosen to live, although lovely, were in neighborhoods that left a LOT to be desired!

Speaking of designing. Here are a couple that I've been playing with

The second one is the one that we will probably use. I like the first except I think we would only wear it to the party where as the second design we would wear multiple times. Did you know that there is no Pirate Minnie clipart? That is a pirate mickey transformed I think it came out pretty cute.

So we got a bit moved today....in between Jim breaking the truck key and rain storms.

We had a washer and dryer delivered (Grandma paid for it.....guilt buying...she doesn't say sorry she just pays for something...don't get me wrong I appreciated it and said so...the sorry would have been more welcome).

We went out for a celebration dinner and to American Furniture Warehouse and made Jimmy scared stiff again.... . Chose a new sofa, kitchen table and chairs, entertainment center, computer desk, area rug (that's the biggest oops on our part....the carpet is quite stained) and DVD tower. We did well and spent only $850 for all of it. He just hates making decision that fast.

Congrats! Sounds like you got a lot accomplished!

Hmm. I just tried twice to call DH's cell phone and it is OFF. That makes me nervous. He is working, so his phone should not be off. I haven't heard from him, so that makes me more nervous. He should be finished in the next hour or so, so if I don't hear from him soon I will be officially freaked out. Last weekend there were 2 cars drag racing when he was on his way in. By the time he caught back up to them they had both crashed, and they hit several other cars, too. That's why I get very skittish when I can't reach him. And there isn't any other number to call, so I just have to wait and see if he calls home.
