Hi everyone. Let me first say that I will never, Never, NEVER,
NEVER
fly US Air again.
I got up at 4am, and got ready for my trip. I even put a little makeup on

I know Stephanie, I was just trying some new stuff I had bought and thought this was the perfect time. I left at 5am and drove to the airport (Harrisburg) which only took about 40 minutes. It was raining so hard and I did not have my umbrella, so I put the hood up on my sweatshirt. Walked to the shuttle and went to the airport. Spent over half an hour in line to check in. We got on the plane---a prop job

didn't know they still used them. When the propellers started up, you could feel yourself sway back and forth a little in your seat.
You could hear the propellers sputter and then stop. The pilot said there was something mechanical so he took the plane back to the terminal. It was then decided we had to get off the plane and of course, we all started to wonder how this would impact catching connecting flights. It took about half an hour and we were able to reload. The plane took off and I thought, okay, now things are looking good.
Silly me, we were in a holding pattern over Phila so the whole flight time was just over an hour. My connecting flight was to leave at 9:35 am and we landed at 9:25. I never ran so hard to catch the shuttle and get to the next gate in my life. I left a message for my sister and she could tell I was just a huffing and a puffing.
Thankfully the plane had not landed to unload and get cleaned for us, so I was able to catch my breath. We finally started to load the plane at about 10:30. When about half the plane was loaded, and I was talking to my sister, the pilot suddenly announced that it was discovered that our plane was scheduled for maintainence.
Everyone was stunned. No hold on while we bring another plane, no let us take you to another flight and get a seat, just --do what you need to get where you were going in the first place. That took about an hour standing in line again.
Of course when it was my turn the lady said she could book me on a flight tomorrow. I just told her "not acceptable". I asked about stand by and other flights. Everything was full. I then asked if I stayed for the standby flights and did not get on did that mean I would just have to sleep in the airport? she said no they could put me up at a hotel at a "discount" Again, I said "not acceptable."
I could not understand how they could just leave a full flight standing with no back up for that kind of thing. The flight finally boarded at about 1:30pm and the gate attendant went on the plane and came back and started reading names. Thankfully my name was called. I cannot even imagine how I would have reacted if I had to wait for another flight.
I can remember doing that when we went to Ireland. One flight was late and they do not take that into consideration. Three minutes before our next flight they were already selling our seats. I think we waited for three flights before we got on a plane.
So, I was running down the ramp and called my sister telling her I was getting on the plane and forgot to tell her the flight number.

So she was kinda panicking trying to find the flight. I finally landed at 3:30pm. Then we drove to her house in Atlanta traffic
To top it all off, the one flight attendant was constantly stopping to talk to another US Air employee who was flying as a passenger. Just what one wants to hear, an employee complain about passengers to another employee.
But now I am here, drinking some fine wine, DISsing, and playing Pogo with my sisters and having a ball.
Will post more later.
