So today was the day for the bowling awards. This was much anticipate in our house. First up was the Bantams. Colby's team (and Summer's too) placed 4th out of 5 teams. All teams got a trophy so they were very pleased

Then came the Prep division

Yep, they took first place in their division. I think there were 8 teams. You should have heard the yelps that came out of those boys when it was announced. :goodvibes

Then it moved on to individual awards. We expected none this year. We were mistaken though

Colby was taken by surprise when he won a trophy for Highest Game with a handicap his score was a 174 :thumbsup2

BowlingAwards016.jpg

Then again we were surprised
BowlingAwards018.jpg

When Colby won the most improved player award for Bantams
BowlingAwards017.jpg

His teenaged "friend" came over to congratulate him
BowlingAwards019.jpg

He had two teenagers that would come to his lane and cheer him on every time he bowled for the last several weeks. He was so small, the youngest bowler out there so he really won a few hearts this year and the roar of the crowd when he won brought tears to my eyes. He will also receive a new bowling ball and bag as a prize with the most improved player award. I guess it makes sense as he had a hard time getting the ball all the way down the lane for at least 1/2 the season and today he bowled his first strike. He has come a long way. He has also been asked to bowl in the state tournament in a couple of weekends. Nick and Hunter were already bowling in it so they knew he would be there.

OK enough bragging from this proud mom. I'm off to work.

Deb

Way to go boys.
Good Luck with the State Tournament.
Have the boys ever done the Pro/Am?
Where they get to bowl with Professial Bowls.
It's a lot of fun.

Hi everyone...Just got back from out cabin trip...here are some pics:

We spent Tuesday night in the Main lodge (Abe Martin Lodge) I felt like we had stepped back in time. Everyone was just so darn nice and hospitable.... Basically spent the day doing a few trails....horseback riding...It was Kirsten's & Christopher's first time...and amazingly Bill was brave enough to go too!! We drank coffee on the swing and watched the kids play in the field. I was shocked at how everything was already green & in bloom.

Wednesday & Thursday were spent at the cabin. Talk about beautiful!! It was extremely roomy and the kids had a blast playing in the woods. It was pretty cool to sit on the balcony & just soak in all the nature. 2 miles away was the cutest little town that had some quaint little shops (I was in my glory) Again the people were just so nice. More trails...a few of them were pretty rugged. As a matter of fact they had gotten some bad weather and at several points trees were blocking the trail & you had to climb through it all. Bill had quite the time...at one point I couldn't help but laugh at him. He was so pissed he didn't speak to us for 15 minutes!!

The last day we spent with Bill's son & family to visit the kids. We went to the Zoo for a few hours, and then back to their place. The kids are getting huge...you couldn't ask for a happier baby then Nathan. I have never seen such an easy going kid!!

Thanks Ellen,
Shes up & drinking some tea now.

That dress is so cute! I am very impressed!!!

Dana just went to get the kids some McD's for dinner...no cooking for me!:cool1:

I'm going to get tickets for tomorrow.
The last Mimzy @ 1:00
Meet the Robinsons @ 2:30
We can't decide so we're doing both.
I hope I understand Mimzy.
Anyone seen it yet?

Cool I can quote Elin. Thanks Elin. :goodvibes
Also :woohoo: to Elizabeth on the DSL working.

Anne Marie -- I hope the sickies are not at your house for very long!

Kristine - your vacation pictures are wonderful. It looks like you had a very relaxing time.

DSL is up and running, but the e-mail is a huge pain in the tushy!! Talk about NOT being user friendly! I had to call tech support because it wouldn't let me send e-mail at all. I think the incoming is working OK. Can't figure out how to make an address book at all, and can't import the stupid Netscape Connect account. SO I think it is time to just scrap the Netscape e-mail and learn to live with the funky new e-mail. Which, by the way, I don't know WHO the provider is because everything overwrites everything else!:headache: It also lists all of the messages at the top and displays a single message to read at the bottom. There must be a way to change that, because I HATE it. The printer is still in the box. I am sure that will come with it's own special set of headaches.

Hope Katie is feeling better :wizard:

Katie was at a sleepover last night & she called me early this morning telling me she didn't feel well. I went & got her, brought her home & she she has a 102 fever.:sad2: She would have never left her friends if she wasn't feeling good. Her friends were so sweet, they were all hugging her & telling her to feel better. Well she is eating a bagel & I gave her some Motrin..hopefully I can get her to lay down for an hour or so...poor baby.

Thankfully we have nothing going on today..Sunday we have parties, sports, & church so it should be hectic.

Hope you all have a nice Saturday. :coffee:

Good luck with the wallpaper Lindsay! Hope you find what you are wanting :wizard:

Hi, all! :flower3:

I hope you have nice Saturdays planned! I'm getting ready to go look at wallpaper again :scared: , but maybe I'll luck out and find something this time. I also need to do fun stuff like get our taxes done, clean out a closet, etc. Ick! I did spend most of the morning doing some research on laptops, as I may break down and get one sometime in the near future. I love my desktop, but it would be nice to have portability. We have always been able to use Jonathan's work laptop with no problems when we're out of town, but he gets a new one this week that is a tablet PC, and we're not real sure how that's going to work out. It would be nice to be able to DIS from bed!

:grouphug: :wizard: all around!

Elizabeth - congrats on getting the DSL to work!

Sounds like you all had a wonderful time Kristine! Thanks for sharing the pictures. Poor Bill, this had me :rotfl:
