I waited three months for zero percent to come out. My car still ran (very carefully I might add) but are you able to wait until a promo comes out? They normally run one when the new year comes out and when they suddenly realize that they have too many of last years cars over this years....

Yeah... we are able to wait. The only problem is that at least one of the brands (VW) doesn't offer 0% near as often as some other dealers. I have also done some research that suggests that the presidents day through end of spring discounts are some of the deepest, unless you can wait until they are literally clearing out the '07s. I did that with my last car as well, but then you are "stuck" with whatever you can find and/or have delivered. A new car is a new car, but if I'm going to shell out the prices we're looking at, I want the options I select -- or at least some of them! That's also going to mean waiting until the middle or end of fall, which is several months, not just a few, which changes the question :headache:

I'm no help on the car payment. I pay about $400 every 2 years when Chris finds me my next car :rotfl: :rotfl: We are paying $300 per month on our DVC, but it should be paid off in 4 more years :thumbsup2

I had a rough night's sleep as something that I took for meds yesterday kept me awake most of the night. Overall I think I feel a little better this morning. At least all I'll be doing this weekend is hangout. Hopefully the down time will help. I know that I will have a lot of shifts at the restaurant next weeks as the lady I covered for yesterday is still out with her leg. So I will definitely work Mon, Tues and Thursday and hopefully 2 waitress shifts on the weekend. I like the profit on that end of the week

We're heading out to the bowling tournament now.

We're still just beginning the process of really narrowing down what we're looking for, so we at least have a while to get used to the idea of adding a payment that we aren't used to! :rotfl:

That's another thing that's killing me! We paid cash for most of our DVC and financed a bit, so that's not a great comparison. (We also have a smaller contract than you, I'm sure!). But when we were tempted by AKV, I of course looked into adding on, albeit briefly. :)

We could have added on a decent contract, financed it all, and paid significantly less per month than on a new car.

I know, I know... I use a car every day, and don't really NEED more DVC points. But it's still tempting.... :rolleyes1 :teeth:

ETA: Ask Chris if he minds coming back and forth to Ohio whenever I need some car help... then I won't need any sort of warranty or brand new vehicle! With my current knowledge though, I have to use the same logic as we did with a newer home vs. fixer uppers -- how much would it cost to continue hiring someone ELSE to do all the work if we got an older one :rotfl:

Good morning everyone!

Glad you had a nice night Tammi..:goodvibes

14 MORE DAYS TAMMI. 14 MORE DAYS!!!!
At this time in 2 weeks I will be landing at MCO!!!

and you will have to share it with DD Kathrin. That is HER house. :goodvibes
OK, I can do that!

Tammi, I am glad you and Bob had a nice evening.
Thanks.

If this isn't too private a question (feel free to ignore me if it is!), approximately how much are your various car payments/month?

Kyle and I have been very fortunate to pay off both of our cars fairly quickly. We have a 2002 and 2003 and haven't had a car payment in over a year. Now we're looking to buy 1 new car, and I'm having the HARDEST time with it! I want the new car so badly. We "need" the new car soon enough ("need", being used somewhat loosely). We have the means to make the payment.

But I don't want to! :headache: :rotfl:

So anyway, am I balking at the prices I'm coming up with (for monthly payments) because it's high, or because I just can't remember any different? It's not like we're looking at luxury cars either, by any stretch of the imagination!
Couldn't tell you. I haven't had a car payment in 6 years. I will be in your boat soon enought.

Good morning all.

Molly, Emma and I had a fun night at Donald Ducks (McDonald's) with my girlfriend and her 2 girls. Since we got home I have been furiously tidying up my house as I have family coming in from PA for the day. My parents, sister, her boyfriend and my niece will also be here. Thankfully I don't have to worry about cooking as we ordered lunch from a local restaurant. And since it's the day after Mo's birthday we are having cake and ice cream for dessert. Nice and easy, just the way I need it! Emma has a soccer game at 9am this morning, it's going to be soo cold at the field, probably low 30's. Molly and I are going to head to the store to pick up a cake and some other little things, instead of freezing.

I hope everyone has a great day. Elin, I'll have to get back to you on where I'd want to live. Too many choices!!
Have fun with your family in town. Happy Birthday Molly!!! (a little late)

We're heading out to the bowling tournament now.

Deb
Enjoy your day!

Morning DDA :goodvibes

My sister and I are getting ready to go to the Renissance Faire. I am taking Chuckie dressed in his Pirates of the Carribean outfit. The weather is beautiful outside and hopefully we will be able to be there long enough before the threat of rain comes.

Everyone have a good day

Have a great time with your sister. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of Chuckie, & hopefully some of you too, enjoying the Renaissance Faire.

My head is spinning. I just got the kids fed & they got ready for bed. Now they are watching Spongebob. I cleaned the house, washed at least 10 loads of laundry, & ironed for the week!
11.gif
After I picked the up the kids from school Sophie & Katie had dance class. Daniel had baseball,
11.gif
but at the same time as Sophies dance:eek: (I do not leave her at the studio, I stay there while she dances) anyway Dana was in the city but he rushed home & did make it just in time to get Daniel from the dance studio & bring him to baseball. We all get home around 7pm..ok fine, I have 8 phonecalls to return & then clean up the kitchen.

Now I have to put together photo albums for my boys religion class on Tuesday (our last class!:yay: ) I am searching for religious clip art to include in the albums along with the pictures I took of them throughout the year.

Tomorrow Daniel marches in his baseball official opening day parade at 8:45am. Katie has 2 birthday parties
7.gif
one right ater the other. The last one ends at 10:30pm! I have to get new cleats for Sophie after I drop off Katie at the 1st party. Then Daniel has picture day at bb at 2:00pm.

Sunday is no better. Along with this lovely nor'easter we are expecting I have to go stand in line for the dance recital tickets. It's like standing in line for Elton John or something...Its going to be rainy & cold. Then we have Sophie's soccer
16.gif
(if the weather allows), then church, then another party.
1.gif

Sorry for the rant..I want to go to Disneyworld.....NOW!!!!!!!!!

:scared1: :scared1: Craziness!! I don't think I could keep up on that weekend. I can't believe you have to stand in line for tickets to your own child's recital.

Good morning everyone! Yesterday was a successful shopping trip. Becky found her prom dress. We found it in the very first store that we stopped in. She tried on several dresses and we were taking one last look before heading to another store. There was about 5 dresses hanging up on the wall. She saw it as we were walking out and absolutely loved it even though it was a "poofy" dress which she said she didn't want. It was the color of her garter (lime) from last year which is the color she said she was looking for. Of course, we had no idea if it was her size. When they told us the size, I knew this was meant to be her dress. She looks like a princess in it. We did go check out several other stores and she tried on many other dresses. You could tell it was just because she was trying to find a less expensive dress. She didn't know how much it was because Katrina & I wouldn't let her look at the price. Katrina and I finally told her she was getting the one from the first store because it was meant to be her dress.

I'm sure yours are angels! ;) :thumbsup2

They really could be very good, well-behaved kids - it's not like they rebel against discipline - they just never receive any! And I just don't understand it, as my BIL (Jonathan's brother) is good with kids and always seemed like he would be such a good parent. Now that he has 3 of his own, I don't know if it's just laziness, exhaustion, fear, or all of the above. He has really changed (and not for the better) since marrying my SIL. She is one of the laziest, most self-centered people I've ever met. :sad2: But that's a whole other tangent. :rolleyes1

That is really unfortunate for ALL of them, because the parents probably don't enjoy being around their own kids. It is laziness to a degree, combined with feeling overwhelmed. They don't know what to do or it just seems to hard, so they don't do anything. It's not easy to raise children properly!

Sure - I'd love any Super Nanny tricks!

Also - anyone know some early signs of autism? My nephew (same family as the one I've been talking about) is almost 2 1/2, has little facial expressions or responses a lot of the time, isn't talking, takes forever to respond to someone who calls his name, has little motor skills, etc. (His daily existence seems to be limited to watching cartoons, running and jumping off of furniture, and screaming randomly.) Some of us in the family are beginning to suspect that there may be at the very least developmental delays, but as his parents don't work with him or seem much concerned, he's not going to be tested or put in front of professionals that would be able to spot the signs anytime soon.

There is something wrong. It could be autism, or he may not be able to hear! Of course hearing loss wouldn't contribute to motor skill delay, but I don't think autism would, either. I would think the pediatrician would bring it up, but maybe not. Good luck!!:wizard:

no clue about any of your questions but YAY for booking a cruise!!

I agree!

Thanks for all the well wishes for Molly. They must be working. I finally got a nap out of her today. Although it might be because I told her we would go to Donald Duck's for dinner with her big sister and best friend if she napped. But more importantly she wasn't a holy terror today. So I appreciate the breather.

Yay for nap!! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOLLY!!!:flower3:

sounds like you NEED it, Anne Marie!

You wear me out! Sometimes my days look a bit like that with all of Sister's running around, but my weeeknds are pretty boring!:rotfl2:

Karen sorry the new attendant did work out

Karen, I am sorry the attendant situationis such a pain! You would think the agency would have more than ONE person available.:sad2:

I forgot to tell you guys that I've been pin buying on Ebay. I found a buyer that sells Disney Store pins that are still on the card. She is very quick and they are great quality. I only allow myself to bid up to $2 per pin. So she had a bunch of auctions running. I bid on most of them expecting to lose do to my low bids. Turns out I won 4 auctions. So I now have an additional 88 pins heading my way. That will make over 150 pins in total so no more ebay for me. i had only planned to buy 100 pins for trading, but if we have some left over I will keep them for the next trip.

Yay for pins!! I bought 155 pins total from about 17 different sellers. And I have to say it all turned out fine, with the exception of the ones that I think are probably factory "scrappers". I just got the replacement for the one broken pin yesterday, so all of my eBay transactions are officially FINISHED! I'm sorry, my blurry eye must be playing tricks on me. Does that say you think you will come home with LEFT OVER pins?:rotfl2:

I think I would have to live in Cinderella's Castle. princess:

Haunted Mansion for me, please.

Morning DDA :goodvibes

Everyone have a good day

Sounds like fun! Enjoy!

Vicki - Yay for the prom dress!

Marci & Lindsay - I hope you didn't get caught in any of the really horrible weather last night! I got off work 45 minutes late, so by the time I was getting home the tornado sirens were going off.:scared: The hail started as I was coming up the stairs, luckily none of it got on my car! We got some that was nearly ping pong ball size!

I need to set up the new printer today so I can print off documents for the agency interviews on Monday and the background check for DH to go on the camping trip with DS. BUT DH might not be able to go because Toad turned in her notice (again). Supposedly the supervisor told her there will be no more chances - her last day is her last day, end of story. We'll see. If she DOES really quit this time then DH will be picking up a lot of extra shifts. I think DS's best friend's mom is going on the camping trip, so she will keep an eye on DS.

I ordered the shirt from Blue Turtle for DS yesterday and paid with PayPal. I REALLY hope it all turns out fine.

Can we see pictures please???

I'm heading to the mall to try to do some shopping for our trip. I hope I find a new bathing suit without too much aggravation. Alyssa needs some summer clothes too. Good thing we are going to Florida or we may be wearing long sleeves until July the way the weather is here. Have a good afternoon!

Ahem...

Elin....

Tom never PM'd me. :sad2:

Don't worry though, the birthday is on there all the same -- we must make sure and harrass him now, forget just a simple happy birthday! :teeth:

Oops! I fell asleep before I remembered what is was that I had to do!;)

(That's my story, and I stickin' to it!:rolleyes1 )

Thanks Jennifer!

If this isn't too private a question (feel free to ignore me if it is!), approximately how much are your various car payments/month?

Well, I am really no help here. We have not had a car payment in almost 5 years. And the vehichles we both drive were purchased used in 1998 and 1999.

But, we are both looking at replacing our cars and we will buy a certified used vehicle I am sure. I just cannot justify to myself paying what new cars cost. It just stupifies me when I see that MSRP!

Oh, car payment. Forgot to include that in my last post!

DH's car is a Honda Civic. We financed it at either 3.9% or 2.9% - I can't remember! Loan is for 5 years, payments are $330. We didn't put any money down, and the truck we traded still had a little bit owing on it. Not a great way to go into a purchase, but he needed something safer than the Ranger since he drives with the drunks every day.:scared1:

My car is a 2007 Altima. The car we turned in was a lease so we started at zero. Mine is at 6.9% (NOT happy with that - we'll probably refinance) for 6 years and the payments are $408. I had 3 different leases before we bought this one. We got suckered into buying extra miles, extended warranty, blah blah blah so our lease payments were almost as much as a purchase. And I was always SO paranoid that something would happen to the car and cost us "excess wear & tear" when we turned it in. I do think they have loosened up a bit on what constitutes excess wear and tear since the early days of leasing, but I think we'll be happy purchasing.

The plan is to pay off the Civic and probably give it to DS, then buy something new for DH.

Elizabeth -- the 07 Altima is on my list as well, although I must admit there are a few cars I like a bit more for us. I think that's a really nice car, though!

Thanks everyone for your input! I guess the estimates I have are right on track.... everything is between like $380 and $420 a month. That seemed outrageous to me, but I was previously paying on a cheaper car, at a 0% APR, and a few years go. I guess that will do it! :faint:

I think the best APR we're going to get these days is significantly larger than 0 :teeth: and the cars we are looking at are about 25% more expensive as well.

Bummer! I was hoping I was missing something obvious or was finding all the wrong estimates or something :rotfl:

I have a GREAT idea, friends... instead of me trying to plan a trip to WDW for me and my "children" who were all born in May and June... let's all move to WDW and live there.

Here is your challenge.... if you could live anywhere on WDW property, where would it be? I will go first:

I would live on the International Gateway from the Beach Club over to Epcot. I would put an apartment over the gift shop there after you enter the turnstiles back there.
i would live at either akl or ak around the animals

I would want to live in the apartment that Walt had over the firestation in the Magic Kingdom.

Oh, I like that idea a lot. Also, Deb's treehouse home. That could be good too. Oh Debbie, Prime Time! There's an idea too.

With those good spots taken, I'm not sure where I would choose to live. Right now, I'm thinking either in AKL with a nice view of the savannah or someplace on the Boardwalk with a nightly view of Illuminations.

That is what I was thinking too. Leighanna wants to do it. She saw the girls made up on the BBB FAQ thread. But she is a little hesitant about having her hair pulled up that tightly in a bun. So we might have to work with our FGMIT to do a little less of an up do!
I think Tammi is taking Alyssa there on her birthday. So maybe I will wait and hear a report from her on this too!

they dont put it up that tight. i did this when i went in december. the good thing about it is it stays nice for days. mine stayed up for 2 days till i took it down
