This weekend I will FINALLY take the Christmas stuff down, we will also go over to our friends house for family fun night and get the lovely talk with Abi out of the way.

I then have to go to work church's charge conference, Abi sings with the choir at 11 o'clock service there. There is concert at 3 PM by the Chapman University Singers and then I think I will pass out!!

sounds like a busy sunday and a semi fun sat. good luck with the talk.:wizard:

Cassidy went to a movie with her friends and then she will be spending the night at a friends....which means Abi is sleeping with me and Jim is sleeping on the floor so that he doesn't freeze his tushy off, because we have one space heater and it ain't moving from my room!!:lmao:

She'll get it mom. :)

A cousin who is almost 3 is doing much better with her colors, but still insists green is blue.
When she turned 2 her mother was very upset that she wasn't remembering her colors. Had to remind her that her daughter was only 2 and that as she got older would start to remember.

it was getting a little furstrating. I would pick up the card and ask her what color it was. she consitantly got orange right. purple was constantly pink. Oh well iat least it is a good way to help her with her colors.

Good evening DDA!

It is very nasty outside. As I was leaving work, the ice started coming down. It should be fun getting my doors open in the morning.

Some not so smart kid or kids left a homemade bomb in the boys bathroom at Garrett's school yesterday. Thank goodness it went off after school & most everyone was out of the building. I am sure they thought this was very funny  This really makes me angry & scared. The bomb was not the kind that could start a fire, but had anyone been in the bathroom, they could have received chemical burns. This has never happened here before & the school is very upset as well. I do hope they find who did this. The school has a no tolerance rule & very likely this person or persons will no longer be attending this school. I spoke with the principle today & he said the police are already talking to some students who might be involved. Too scary, I mean what are they thinking????????????

My friends son that died will definitely be arriving home Sunday. I have to work, but the motorcade will be going by my place of work. So I can at least be outside when they go by :sad1:

Jen -- still sending PD and prayers to your grandma and to the rest of the family. Be sure to take a comfortable non-bulky jacket to the hospital. It's always so cold in there.

:wizard: that your grandmother recovers quickly Jen

Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts...We have been up since 5 and just now got home from the hospital. My grandma was in the OR for 3.5 hours for what was supposed to be a 2 hour surgery. They ended up going through her neck tothe coratid artery-They thought it was 80% blocked but ended up being more, which made the surgery a bit more complicated. She is out of the OR though and is recovering in the surgical ICU. She is in more pain than was expected and may be taying over for a couple of nights,,,I didnt go into see her, but my mom, uncle, and grandpa did--they said she looks worse than expected, but is doing okay. ill be going back to the hospital tonight, so if there is asny new updates, ill let you know.
thank you so much!

:woohoo: to your girls. I thought learning was one of the reasons they sell the cookies.

If the parents didn't do the selling, the cookies would have never sold. The girls would look right at you and not say a word. I think the parents got tired of it and started selling them just to get rid of them.

Too bad those adults wouldn't let the girls do the selling as they can learn alot from doing it themselves.

Great job Abi.:thumbsup2

I think so but I am in the minority around here I think!!

I feel that is how it should be as well. That the girls should sell. However I'm guilty of my parent selling as well, my Dad used to take my order form to work, because kids were not allowed at his job. However I always attached a note to it with my name, troop, the goal of how many cookies I wanted to sell and what our troop planned to use the money for. Some years I attached a picture of me in my Girl Scout uniform. I would sort and bag up the orders and also include thank you notes for each person who bought cookies. He would take the actual orders and deliver them as I was not able to go to his job and do that.

I do not like when the parent just takes the order form to work and does all the work.

I would sell other cookies in my neighborhood, at cookie booths etc. I always sold a large number of cookies the majority of them were not sold to my Dad's co-workers.

Janet, :( for the weather.

WTH is wrong with some kids? :sad2: I sure hope that the school finds out who did it.

:grouphug: for Sunday.

I remember in elementray school selling the worlds finest chocolate bars, they only had the ones with almonds then. my brothers and I would go door to door in our neighborhood selling them. I rember we used to have girl scouts come to our door selling their cookies.

Thank you Glynis, Robin needs all the thoughts & prayers she can get right now.

Alan has covered several memorial services up there. They are always really nicely done. I thought about your friend this morning, as they announced the service and showed pictures of the 3 that were killed.

I remember selling door to door also. Unfortunately that is just too dangerous in today's society. :sad2:

:wizard: :wizard: :grouphug: :grouphug: and prayers to Jen, Deb, Robin, Jennifer, their families and everyone else who is in need of them.

I think I am headed to bed. Good night everyone, although I said that to myself hours ago.
