I sure hope Lindsay, Marci and Elizabeth stay safe and warm tomorrow. We have a pretty bad storm system coming in with lots of rain and freezing temps tha means lots of Ice. yuck

The rain hits here tomorrow morn, the freezing temp tomorrow night. with the greatest chance of ice Sunday night and mon morn. yuck

I guess I will get up early tomorrow and go to the grocery store to get lunchmeat and Bananas for sure.

Same here, nothing to do. Very boring!

We just don't have anything to do around here. No zoos, aquariums, nature preserves. We have a small museum, but it really doesn't offer much, once a year is enough. Luckily we have plenty of nature all around us and it is free. Really it is pretty boring around here.

Continued prayers Jen :grouphug:

This is what happened...My grandfather was talking to her and she said she had trouble breathing and then started to wheeze..By the time my grandfather got a nurse, grandma was unconscious...They needed to intubate her and took her straight to the OR..Apparently,a blood clot and alot of swelling caused everything to go crazy and she suffered alot of the complications. When she came out of the OR, the surgeon told us they were going to keep her sedated from teh time we left until at least tomorrow morning- Her throat has some damge to it due to the multiple difficult intubations. My mom went in to see her and she reached for my moms hand and opened her eyes when she heard my moms voice.
Right now, we are still looking at alot of potential complications..They are checking into the possiblilty of stroke, heart attack, or heart problems due to the complications.

That is all i know for now--my mom is calling the nurse at 10pm for an update, and we will be back at the hospital at 11--right now, its just very scary--i apprecaite ALL of the prayers and good thoughts

I went to the grocery store tonight and among other items I bought lunch meat and bananas.

Yes, it is very nasty here! I,too, got to sit in traffic tonight in the pouring rain trying to get home, and they said the freezing rain will begin about 2 a.m. Our high temp today was 67! Now it's 37, and dropping like a rock!

Why couldn't it do this on Monday when I have to go to work? I actually have a desperately needed haircut appt. in the morning, and I'm going to be mad if I have to cancel due to the road conditions! Now if it were Monday, I could just cross my fingers that work is canceled (because we're ninnies in TX!). It is supposed to be like this all weekend.

Well, I'm caught up, and need to think about heading to bed (after bundling up first!).

Stay warm DDA! And see you tomorrow!

well I am supposed to work monday. but my job never closes what gets me as we do inducions. well when we had the last ice storm the people who were scheduled to be induced still drove to the hospital for their inductions. now those are some idiots. I would not go out in it unless I absoutly had to.

wow Tia that is alot of stuff.

I will have to look in our newspapers to see if they have any freebies listed. i know their are free movies in the summer, Our malls dont have playscapes. Sometimes we go to chick fil a and play on the playscape. I will need to check our libary for story time.

Definitely check the library for storytimes and for other activities. I just found out last week that our libraries have a whole series of special programs for kids 3-7ish in addition to the weekly storytimes. There is a Thomas Tank Engine night (stories and crafts) next week, Care Bears another week, and a bunch of other stuff. It works out to something almost everyweek both daytime and evenings/weekends. Also check Borders and Barnes and Noble as they usually have storytimes. These are usually listed on the website as well as in the store.
