you're good....not sure I could keep the secret

Me too!

I plan on waking him at normal school time, since our flight doesn't leave until noon. Then I'll say something like, since you only have a half day of school why don't you just stay home, and we'll do something fun together. How would you like to go to disneyworld?

how many of those are you using for your 2 upcoming trips?

I was thinking between 150 and 300 points.
For 3 nights at a studio at OKW in Jan it is 48 pts.

For 7 nights at a 2 br at OKW in May it is 278. For a studio it would only be 103.

I'm finding 200 is good for us.

oh another suprise trip cool

I didn't realize it was another surprise trip!

I can't necessarily blame the kid - weren't you asking him to try on clothes in the middle of the night?!

Of course, going to Disney would be the ONLY thing making me smile at that hour of the morning! :rotfl:

It wasn't the middle of the night at all! It was 4:50 AM!:rotfl2:

But there is a method to my madness. First, if he doesn't know about the trips then he isn't distracted in the days leading up to it. He has Inattentive ADD, so he doesn't need distractions. Second, if he doesn't know then he can't blab to his friends. That gives me a better shot at getting the days excused when he comes back - our district forbids vacations. They did excuse the 3 days he missed in December, so that worked well for me.

DS got his report card today! All A's and B's for the marking period, all A's and B's EXCEPT math, which was a C, for the semester. The math grade is because he wasn't on medication for the ADD the first marking period, and his math grade was pretty low. He did well the other 2 marking periods, but not well enough to pull his semester average to a B. Still, I am very pleased. I think a trip to WDW is in order!:cool1:

how many do you use on your trips? just trying to get a feel for how many points we will get and need. I know you can cary points over from one year right?
Only for up to 3 years.

Elin - did you get your package today. Mine was waiting for me when I got home. Everything fits perfectly!

Me too! I love it all and can't wait to wear them. I think next time I need to go down a size again too. :goodvibes

Tammi - Good luck keeping it a secret! I think packing was one of the hardest things for me, because I couldn't spread things out and really THINK about packing. I had to think about being sly, and it messed up my thought process for packing efficiently!:rotfl:

It depends on the size of accomodations you want, the time of year, how many nights (and if they're weekend nights, or weekday), etc.

I can tell you that our initial 150 pts. got us 9 nights in a studio at SSR (5 nights last March, and 4 in December). There were several weekend nights in there, which take more points.

And yes, you can bank/borrow points between years.

Congrats on losing another size!

You ladies are making it REALLY hard for me to ignore the fact that there is a Coldwater Creek store in the mall across the street. My cousin was just telling me they have really nice things...

Sounds like it - good for your DS! :yay:

thanks. I used the site Kristine gave me and at SSR it would cost us 117 for when we would take our trip in 2008.

Wilderness lodge would be 128 points

so we tried to look at DVC while we were at disney. we were unable to go for the tour. They called and left a message on our phone. asking if we would like them to send us info about it.

Jeff has a couple of questions though.
1. how much do you pay a year or month.
2. does the total spread out over the entire 48 years.

This has probably been answered, but this is how we did it. We had an outstanding rate on our credit card of 3.8% for the life of the charge. We charged the whole amount on the card and are making the same payment that we had been making for a car payment. We will have the balance paid off in 5 years just as we would have with a car. The annual dues are deducted from our checking account monthly. Because the tax rates and maintenance costs vary the amount we pay is adjusted yearly. Last year we were paying $85 per month, but it looks like it is going down this year. The first payment hasn't been deducted yet though.
