my co worker is a not so nice word...we had part of our operating systems go down and I asked him to get our tech guys out here to fix it rather than waiting for a phone call back from somebody in OR....nope rather wait for the phone call back....because of that delay (we did eventually contact our IT guys..they fixed it right away). He has NONE of his work done for the report!! SO....I am just now leaving work...taking work with me home and still won't be able to print until tomorrow morning (when the report is supposed to be at the binders) IF and WHEN he gets his hiney moving!!

aren't you glad you asked????:rotfl:

YIKES!

Don't you just love working with know-it-alls! :badpc:

Jennifer,

Just popped on and saw your questions.

1. The amount varies, depending on your investment, and how you've set up your membership. You can choose to pay your annual dues/maintenance fees (a certain dollar amount for each point you own) either in one lump sum, or you can choose to pay it in a monthly debit. If you have paid for your membership through some type of loan, then you will have to factor in that monthly repayment, as well.

2. The amount of your investment depends on how many points you buy. If you go through Disney, you must purchase at least 150 pts. initially. If you go through a resale agent, you can purchase smaller contracts. I want to say the going rate right now for a new purchase at SSR is something like $102/point (although I know they're running another friends & family promotion where a current DVC member can get you $15 off per point).

Think about it like buying a car - you either need to pay for your contract in cash, or you can take out a loan. The loan terms are obviously up to you and the lender (the APR, how many months you've financed for, etc.). So, you will likely have paid for your initial investment in a few years, not over the 48 year term. You will pay annual dues, though, for the duration of your contract.

I hope that makes sense! PM me if you have other questions!

Thanks Lindsay, Kristin and Tammi.

I'm working on sorting through clothing again. I feel like this is a never ending process, I've been weeding through clothing every couple weeks for many months. I'm also gathering stuff to be sent with the local high school to Jamaica. I went there in 1999 and everytime they go each student is only allowed to take 1 suitcase of their own and this has to include their full set of snorkeling gear. Their other alloted suitcase is filled with stuff to take down to the local infirmary, it is a long term care facility with people who have disabilities and other problems. Often times the residents are supporting their families from inside the facility by making belts, bracelets, and other crafts which are sold in the local markets.

They take anything and everything including snakc food items, wheelchairs, Tv's, toothbrushes, pencils, shoes this years wish list included an industrial weedwhacker. I try to send something every year as I know the staff, residents and their families can use it. I pretty much came home from my trip to Jamaica with an empty suitcase except for the few souvenirs I bought and my snorkeling equipment. I left my shoes, clothing, toiletries down there as I knew they could use it more than me.

I gotta sharpen the pile of pencils I found, I should scan pictures and post them sometime. I had an awesome time on this trip.

ugg me pulling my hair out.

they are sending us the info. they will be taking orders for AKL some time this summer or fall. it is supposed to open this year. I would love to do that. But I have a feeling this is not going to happen for us.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

That is too cute. I bet they flip out (in a good way). ;)

I hope they don't just scowl at you, which is what DS did when we told him about the December trip!:rotfl2: We're leaving again 3 weeks from Thursday. I'll have to work on my delivery. Since we're leaving after school at least he will be awake when I tell him!

im listening to dis radio and they are playing christmas music. why?

my dad made me cry tonight.

should i talk to my cousin about the cruise we wanna take even though its like 3-4 years away? i wanna make it as special as my trip was in december and that took 3 years.

one question does any one know the words to the song pizza hut, kentuky fried chicken, mcdonalds? i wanna download teh song.

Oh no, why did your dad make you cry?

And I say go ahead and start talking about the cruise, if it will make you happy! It's never too early to begin dreaming, IMO!

i have a cd of kristen chenawith(sp) and she has a song on there called barrowed angels(i think) it makes me cry everytime. so i was like dad why did you put that song on you know it makes me cry and he said it makes him cry too.

Becky...

I didn't get a chance to tell you...but the last picture you posted that I saw...you looked AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

Theresa - Sorry work is a pain!

I did get to talk with Dadboss tonight about Sister's schedule. She will have activities on Wed, Thur, and Fri. Wednesdays could be ugly, but Thursday and Friday will be fine. And it is just 3 days instead of 4. I think she will love going to cooking class. The Tae Kwon Do might be a different story. But we'll see.:)
No word on my schedule (or my proposed schedule). My friend recently started a job with a newborn that she loves. Of course we ALL want jobs with newborns. Her boss has a friend expecting a baby, so she said she would pass my name along. Might turn out to be a dead end, but you never know!

Good luck on the new schedule and the job front, Elizabeth! I'm still keeping an ear/eye out for you.

Just curious - why do all nannies want jobs with newborns? I'm guessing maybe longer job security, getting to implement the rules from day 1, etc., but I'd like to hear your reasons. (I find your job fascinating!)

oh another suprise trip cool

I didn't realize it was another surprise trip!

I can't necessarily blame the kid - weren't you asking him to try on clothes in the middle of the night?!

Of course, going to Disney would be the ONLY thing making me smile at that hour of the morning! :rotfl:

Is this the one you are referring to??

here is the video

I know it differently as a camp song, but I assuming this is what you mean. I went searching as I didn't think that was what you meant.

We just started off with the 150. Although I'm already anticipating that we'll add on a smaller contract at some point!

how many do you use on your trips? just trying to get a feel for how many points we will get and need. I know you can cary points over from one year right?

You got it! Newborns don't have bad habits yet. When you come in with older kids you have to clean up whatever bad habits the last caregiver left them with - poor sleep habits, poor eating habits, bad manners, whatever. And we all love babies. Some of my friends are baby nurses - they work exclusively with newborns, then turn the job over to a nanny when the baby is a few months old. Others specialize in Birth - 5 years and make it clear to the family that they will NOT contract beyond the child's 5th birthday. I am not that rigid, but I do like babies. You also have a better shot at "shaping" the parents into the kind of employers you want to have. If they have never employed a nanny before then they don't have bad habits yet, either!;)

Me too!

I plan on waking him at normal school time, since our flight doesn't leave until noon. Then I'll say something like, since you only have a half day of school why don't you just stay home, and we'll do something fun together. How would you like to go to disneyworld?

Deb---

I love the bowling designs...If I get home before the girls go to bed I will ask them if they like any of them in particular. I hate to be a pest but have you seen any of the girl characters bowling?? I couldn't find any at my lame attempt at designing!!

Those weren't boy character's bowling. I had to be creative to make it look like they are. When I have time I'll try to do Daisy or Minnie
