Mickey and Donald say HI and a very Happy Birthday

Kristine -- the shirts that I made with our Christmas card picture bled as well. Very frustrating to put all that work in to it and lose them after a wash!

no, they didn't fade...the colors bled into the white parts of the transfer.

Example, this design, the colors of the frame, bled into the picture of us

HHmmm....nope, never had that problem. Maybe you didn't iron long enough to get the colors to set? :confused3

yes, I washed the shirts prior to doing the iron ons. It's not the shirts themselves that are bleeding. It is strictly the colors on the actual transfer paper that is bleeding.
Maybe it's not the transfer paper, but the type of ink/printer you are using?

For those of you who have done iron ons...I have a question or 2. I used the dark transfer paper from eBay. I noticed that many of the shirts bled after washing. I tried different things...cold water, warm water, gentle etc. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions? Since I am doing shirts for 11 people in December, it bums me out that they won't look good after just 1 washing!!

I actually didn't detect any bleeding, could it depend on the ink in your printer and your printer settings? Not sure what you would do differently, but I have an HP printer with the dark ebay paper and never had a problem.

I have an HP photosmart 8250...I think I used a higher quality print setting...I feel like I iron them for long enough...I just can't figure this out :confused3

Thanks Chanon!

Paula hope you & your dh are feeling better soon :wizard:

I talked to her earlier today...both her and DH are sick right now so the conversation was very brief...even though she told me to say that she has this massive headache and if I left it at that, you'd all thought she was getting over a hangover...so she's getting better! (Or as she puts it: "I'm not dead yet!")

Well, let's keep going!!
Let's go back to the time when...
Decisions were made by going "eeny-meeny-miney-mo"
Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming, "do over!"
"Race issues" meant arguing about who ran the fastest.
Money issues were handled by whoever was the banker in "monopoly"
Catching fireflies could happily occupy an entire evening
It wasn't odd to have two or three "best" friends.
Being old, referred to anyone over 20.
The worst thing you could catch from the opposite sex was cooties.
Nobody was prettier than Mom
Scrapes and bruises were kissed by mom or grandma and made better
It was a big deal to finally be tall enough to ride the "big people" rides at the amusement park.
Getting a foot of snow was a dream come true.
Abilities were discovered because of a "double-dog-dare"
Spinning around, getting dizzy and falling down was cause for giggles.

Water balloons were the ultimate, ultimate weapon.
Older siblings were your worst tormentors, but also your fiercest protector
If you can remember most or all of these, then you have LIVED!!!
Pass this on to anyone who may need a break from their "grown up" life......I TRIPLE DOG DARE YA!!!!!!

Thanks for sending this, Vicki! What a wonderful break!!! I do remember those times. The good old days!

I have an HP photosmart 8250...I think I used a higher quality print setting...I feel like I iron them for long enough...I just can't figure this out :confused3

That does seem odd. Will the ink smear after printing, before ironing? If it is then maybe the ink isn't adhering to the paper. Are you choosing iron on transfer as the paper type in the printer properties? Other than that I don't know what else you could do.

The temps for this weekend range from 64-70. Should I even bother taking any short sleeved shirts? Maybe just one?

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: This is summer weather for us. It is cooler summer weather but still summer weather!

That's Vicki. That bit of nostalgia brought tears to my eyes.

Good morning everyone... it finally happened, I got whatever my kids have been passing around for the last month. Hope everyone has a good Monday.

I'm sorry to hear that you picked up a bug from the kids. I hope you are feeling better soon!

I would LOVE to read some of the competions that have been entered!!! (I was going to enter Flora, Fauna, Merryweather and the Evil Witch as the Golden Girls, but I didn't have time to do the photos...)

So please add me to your PM's out!

Are you letting them dry enough before ironing? I've never ironed mine on the same day that I printed them...let them dry overnight and no bleeding on my shirts. I can't think of anything else either...

That would have been great!!!!

I usually let them dry overnight...but I did not set the printer for iron ons. did everyone do this??
