Just home. It is Strep and my lungs are all crappy again. I'm on a z-pack, inhalers, and a liquid steroid. She said my throat is almost swollen shut (I've been drooling 'cause I can't swallow well). If it's not better by tomorrow, I may have to do IV antibiotics and steroids. So, I'm going to go take my meds and sit on the couch with the kids. Sure hope DH and the kids don't get it. I have new empathy for all the kids who have Strep (Julia) repeatedly. This really hurts!

Denise---Feel better soon!! That sounds like a horrible case of strep throat!!!
Hope you don't have to do the intravenous...I am not a big fan of needles!!

Denise - Move away, far far away, from the kids. The only time I can remember having strep was when I was 20, and I had it in conjuction with mono. I was miserable, so I know exactly how you are feeling. Get some rest.

Does anyone have any good ideas for an anniversary gift for my dh? I hate having to buy him gifts. He is the hardest to buy for. No hobbies, not into sports, doesn't need clothes. He lives in tshirts and jeans, except for work, which is a uniform. Any ideas would be appreciated.

If he is like most men - you could go on a shopping spree at Victoria's Secret :thumbsup2

I will have to think on that!!!

What about the High School Musical CD? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Sounds just like my dh. Could you make him coupons for things like backrubs, etc.? Are there any books he wants to read? CD's? Magazine subscriptions? Bottle of wine and some fancy desserts? I'll keep thinking.

Denise-- :wizard: pixiedust: I hope you feel better soon! pixiedust: :wizard: Dd's friend has strep now and was IM'ing her last night. She said that she can't believe how much it hurts. --Knock wood-- we've never had strep here.

My DH is the same way. No sports, no hobbies, no outside activities but work. The last gift that I got him that he loved is a GPS (global positioning system) unit. We have taken up geocaching (www.geocaching.com). It's like a treasure hunt using a GPS. We have found parks that we didn't even know existed in areas that we have visited. When you logon the site, you can enter a city or zip code. It will give you the coordinates for hidden caches in that area. It is something fun to do with kids. My DH and I love to go geocaching with just the two of us. I know many of the Girl Scout troops in our area have become involved in it. There are caches in like 27 countries now.

OUCH!! and :wizard: coming your way. I hope that the meds help quickly and you are feeling better. Even more pixiedust: that the kids stay healthy.

That sounds like fun. I'll have to look into it.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.

Yuck! Yes it does.... I get strep at least yearly, but I'm VERY good at catching it super early now. Of course, it helps that I don't have kids to worry about, etc when getting into the doctor ASAP. Pixie dust for a speedy recovery! At least Z-Packs rock :) I hope it works quickly for you! :wizard: :goodvibes

 I am sorry I started anything about the Superbowl! I have a DS and DH who are Sports addicts, but I for one could care less. I did not watch it last night, not even for the commercials! I pulled wallpaper off the bathroom walls! UGGH!

Anyway, I was just being flip and teasing and I forgot how serious people really are about 'Their team".

Anyway, Congratualtions Steelers Fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

 & :love2: Nancy

Denise, Hoping you feel better soon!

Amy, I am practical like your Dh, But going to Disney with just one child sounds HEAVENLY! And escaping Spring weather in Cincinnati sounds even better!!!

Hey everyone else! I am off to peel more wallpaper and to figure out what to do to repair the walls in theis old house!

Jen, When is Match Day? I wanted to write it on my calendar. My Dh's Best Friend from Residency starts his job tomorrow.

Long story, but he did a fellowship in New Orleans and then has been displaced and finally found a job about 3 hours from us! I need to call him and send a little :wizard: . of course what I'll say is "good Luck"!!! :rotfl2:
