Does anyone have any good ideas for an anniversary gift for my dh? I hate having to buy him gifts. He is the hardest to buy for. No hobbies, not into sports, doesn't need clothes. He lives in tshirts and jeans, except for work, which is a uniform. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Kevin and I stopped buying gifts for each other a long time ago (Christmas, birthday, Valentine's, etc.) because we are ALWAYS saving for the next Disney trip. We used to physically buy Disney Dollars to represent what we would have spent on gifts, but now we just exchange cards (Kevin's are usually homemade...mine are usually from Hallmark :teeth: ).

Amy :)

Yep, amy Sounds like us! Jim needed a polesaw -- he's worried that makes him a certified redneck! anyway, as we walked out of Lowes I said Happy anniversary, he said, Oh you wanted a polesaw for your anniversary? I laughed and said no you did! :rotfl2: I want the sweater in the Talbot's window!!!!!!! :lmao:

I think I just got half a pole saw!!! We'll see next week!!

Just home. It is Strep and my lungs are all crappy again. I'm on a z-pack, inhalers, and a liquid steroid. She said my throat is almost swollen shut (I've been drooling 'cause I can't swallow well). If it's not better by tomorrow, I may have to do IV antibiotics and steroids. So, I'm going to go take my meds and sit on the couch with the kids. Sure hope DH and the kids don't get it. I have new empathy for all the kids who have Strep (Julia) repeatedly. This really hurts!

Sending you pixie dust & warm thoughts to feel better. :wizard:

What about the High School Musical CD? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

That's my husband :teeth: :lmao: . It is now playing on our car's system.

How about a movie you both enjoy. Jim appreciated it when I got the video of the movie we went and saw on our first date. It was also the first time we got to see the whole movie....it kept burning up in the theater.

Denise hope you feel better soon, stay away from the kids so they don't get sick.
Kate, hope Julia's hand feels better and heals well with no scaring - ouch I feel her pain.
Amy, I kid at Disney is better than 2, DS was 3weeks for his first, they were really expensive days for me, paid to get in but couldn't ride anything - DH had to ride dumbo with DD which was my pay back. Go have fun and enjoy the precious time with DD.

Anyone else needing :wizard: :wizard:

2 weeks to our anniversary, I never have a problem with gifts, DH has so many toys, he is now talking about diving or we book vacations which are never a problem around here.

On Sat I asked DH what he was getting me for V-day and he said nothing but asked what I wanted for our Anniversary and when I told him he told me to order it - I said give me your CC and it's done!! Haven't done it yet but will.

Denise - sending you pixie dust -

you need to curl up in bed and get better!! Send your kids to school and call in sick!! Take some time to heal yourself - that should be no trouble with triplets!! :lmao: :lmao:

So - I was at work tonight and as we were leaving one of the girls says to us:

I have to tell you all - my house is all about High School Musical - she went on and on about how much she loves it and they have the CD and she wants me to give her a tape of it so she can learn the choreography to the final dance!!

I am not the only one who thinks this is a GREAT movie!!!

Oops

I forgot - Julia says her hand doesn't hurt so that is good news - but she has a big old blister on it that everyone who looks at it cringes at!!!

I have a feeling we will soon be keeping the open wound bandaged!

Glad to hear that, look after that open wound for her.

Denise - don't mess around with strep! My SIL has a neighbor who's husband died from Strep because he wouldn't get it treated. Our pediatrician told us that strep doesn't die when airborne. It just waits for someone to touch it and then it is transmitted to that person. My twins came down with it when they were 3 or 4 months old at the same time the older 2 did. They were the youngest ever to come down with the virus at that office. We were told to wipe everything down with a bleach solution and to wash ANYTHING that they had touched. It was a pain, but it seemed to work. I also Lysol'd the couch and their mattresses. I,now typically get strep at least once a year. I can feel it coming on, and immediately call the doctor for antibiotics. Luckily, after I take them I start feeling better, and within 4 hours feel almost back to new.

You HAVE to take care of yourself. You can't let yourself run down!

Kate - I'm so glad to hear that Julia is feeling better! Burns can be so nasty. Let's hope it heals well and doesn't leave a nasty scar!

Jennifer - Congrats on a Steeler win, and bigger congrats on your test results. I know that you'd rather be focusing on other things than schooling right now, and I applaud you for sticking with it!

Tammi - Good luck with the anniversary present! I am with you! DH is so hard to buy for! I hate it. Let me know what you come up with and maybe I'll steal your idea for my DH.

I have one more case study to deal with before I can call it quits tonight, so I'm off for a while. Don't get too chatty!

Denise -- sending you lots of PD! I have strep maybe once every 5 years or so, and it's miserable. Here's hoping you get lots of sleep and feel better soon.

How about a magazine subscription. My dh has a subscription to Street Rodder Magazine (He loves cars). He actually checks the mail looking for it. There are thousands of different magazines out there so I'm sure there's one out there that he'd be interested in.

Kate -- so glad to hear that Julia's hand isn't bothering her today. It may get tender when the blister pops -- especially since it's on a place that is difficult to stop using. I hope all goes well over the next few days.

Hey guys,

I could use some prayers and PD. I had some lumps appear on my neck (but under the skin) over the weekend, and went to my dr. today to have them checked out.

Long story short, they did a lot of bloodwork, and I'm scheduled for a sonogram of my neck early tomorrow afternoon. I feel fine, and I think that's mainly what has my dr. concerned, ironically enough. I think it would be much easier to explain this if I were feeling poorly, had other symptoms, etc. I've been a relatively healthy person all my life, and I guess I'm just not used to a dr. not being able to instantly diagnose something - and when he wanted all of this stuff done "immediately", I guess I got a little freaked out. It doesn't help that DH is out of town, and so I'm just sitting here with my thoughts.

Hopefully, this will end up being absolutely nothing, or something easily explainable/treatable, but I could use some good thoughts right now and tomorrow.

Thanks for listening! :goodvibes

Tammi -- Something else you might think about are special pictures of you and the kids. They don't have to be professional -- just some good candids that maybe a friend could take. Then have them put in a calendar or on a coffee mug.

Or maybe pay someone to do a couple of Honey-do things that aren't his favorite things to do?

Good luck!

Hopefully it is nothing to worry about. It is good that they are doing the sonogram tomorrow as you won't have to worry for too long. Here's some magic that it will be nothing. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
