I love that sort of stuff too! I'm going to have to find that book!

It's a great book, and REALLY inexpensive (pretty small, but still cool)

I found the background when i did a search for Mushu in google large images.
here's the page. http://membres.lycos.fr/coleno/theme13.htm
I added Sam's name and the frame in PhotoImpact. I colored them using the eyedropper tool. Now I am trying to make the names with characters that everyone is doing. :lmao:

I wanted to let you all know that I have made my design gallery private -

I made a mistake putting them out for people to use at their own discretion

While no one in this thread has upset me - I am seeing people present my designs as their own more and more in other threads throughout the DIS and even other places on the internet -

If you would like a specific design from me - you can pm me for it

That just plain stinks!!! We all know the work you do for those images and you deserve tons of credit!!! I am sorry this is happening.

It's really just like the good old days, here! I go away for the weekend, and you build up about 50 pages. Ihad a lot of fun catching up last night and this morning. I forgot to take notes, so I hope I can remember everything I wanted to say.

Kate - Hope you're feeling better. I'm sorry DH got the wrong ice cream. That's like getting your mouth all set for Diet Coke, and taking a drink of Root Beer instead.

Elin - :grouphug: to you and your family at this time. I'm glad things started getting better with your time with your mother.

Denise - I'm so sorry about Rees' Medicaid stuff. We will continue to keep you all in our prayers. Funny story, I've told my kids we need to add Rees to our prayers, and while we were at my parents house this weekend, my DS was saying a prayer before we ate one night. He asked for a special blessing to be on the "triplets family". Afterwards, my father asked who that was. DS said, "we've never met them, but they are mom's really good friends that live far away." I explained about the DDA family, and then went on to talk about you all and your trip to the World, and the struggle you are having right now with the Medicaid issues. Later that night, we were having family prayer, and my dad prayed that the Medicaid issues would be resolved for the "triplet family." He said to me, "if they are important to you, than they are important to us, too." So, another family is also praying for you all.

Jennifer - I'm so sorry that your cheerleading squad has gone down hill. I know that must be so frustrating and disappointing for you! It's hard to watch something you love be torn to shreds. You did right holding your tongue to the girls, though. You are teaching them respect by doing that. Your influence with them will live on!

Becky - I admire you for leading a Brownie troop! What a great role model you must be for those girls. It's pretty discouraging that the parents don't want to be involved, but you are a stable influence for them. Just keep plugging away, you never know whose life will turn around because of you!

Marti and Paul - Your trip sounds wonderful! I love the pictures, too! Really brings it to life! I'm so glad that you had a great time, and that Matthew had a great time with Grandpa! I can't wait until you are at liberty to explain the "unexplainable" stuff! I'll be patient, though!

To everyone else - I hope you all start feeling better! It seems like this is a really bad bug that has hit everyone. Here's looking forward to a season of health. I think we've earned it!

To anyone heading out - have a wonderful time! Take lots of pictures and post them often!

I have a question for all of you: How do you know when you have food poisoning vs. the "flu"? We all ate the same thing yesterday for lunch, all not feeling real well at bed time but my little one is the only one who has let loose. She is also the one who ate the most of this one item (orange chicken) so it makes me a bit suspiscous of the food.

Thanks in advance

I hope I am not one of those people. I would hate to hurt someone who has give so much to so many. While I have borrowed people's designs in the past, I have always given them credit. At least I think I have. I am not very creative and have relied on the generosity of others to share their designs. I have tried not to ask people to make them for me, as I did not want to impose. You were one of the people who inspired me to learn the different tshirt programs so I could modify other's creations. Your creations (along with a few other of the founding members) were a benchmark for me to achieve. :worship: :worship:
I want to Thank you very much for your inspiration and generosity. I don't know where you get the time and effort to do so much for other people.
I have spent many hours today modifying designs that I saw on this forum. I don't think they look as good as the ones you have made (the one I made for my DN Same with his name, is much busier than the others I have seen.) However, I would not have made it had I not seen the idea on these boards.
I am sure that some of you could have made the same design in about 15 minutes and it took me 4 hours. :confused3 But now I know how to do it.
Again, Thank you for your creativity. Penny

Kate I am so sorry that people are taking advantage of your creativity. I have used many of your designs and hope to post pictures when we get back from our trip. I appreciate all the hard work you do to create those designs. I have tried a few but all I have accomplished is adding pictures to some of them but I would never take credit for the original design.

I know you said it was not anyone on this board but just wanted to let you know that we all do appreciate our QUEEN here on the DDA board and sorry that others are being disrespectful.

Why are people so d@mn rude??

Kate I'm sorry that you've had to do this - have you thought of putting a watermark across your images so if people do download them they couldn't use them without PMing you for the original? Or you could just present them on photobucket as 2x2 images - ie they pixelate when blown up to the right size for printing/publishing elsewhere.

Although I'd say keep them private if that's what you feel you need to do :goodvibes

Oh how I wish my dh would say that! He does not care to much for Disney, but that will not keep the boys & I from going :goodvibes I am hoping for another Oct. trip. I am already planning it, I just have not booked anything yet lol

I've been planning this trip since 2 weeks after I got back from our trip last March! ;) When we left, my DH told my oldest at the airport, "Well, I think we can wait a couple years to come back, don't you?" so I wasn't sure when we got home whether I was going to be going back anytime soon. Two weeks later, he woke up one morning saying he had been dreaming about Disney. I knew then that we'd be going back year after year! Yeah!!!!!!

I am really sorry to hear this. I know you work hard on your designs & I for one really appreciate the ones you & others have made for me. To bad some do not feel they need to give credit where credit is due :guilty:

Kate, I'm so sorry to hear that. I'll definitely be PM'ing you in the near future! Thanks for all the hard work that you have done. Your designs are awesome.

Ok, you made me cry (a happy cry). That is just too sweet. You really touched my heart. I don't know what I would do without all my DDA friends.

How would you do this, Clare?

I just upgraded to Photoimpact 11. Let the fun begin! :woohoo:

I just found these instructions on the net:

Here's How:
1. Open an image.

2. Select the text tool and type the copyright symbol or any other text you want to use for a watermark. Works best with a fairly heavy typeface.

3. In the text panel or the property bar, click the color swatch, and set the color to 50% gray. (Use HSB values 0-0-50 or RGB values 128-128-128; both will produce the same result).

4. Set the text mode in the property bar to 3D Round. In the Text Panel, adjust the 3D properties as desired. (Note: You can perform steps 2 & 3 easily by clicking Dark Gray in the Material Attribute Gallery.)

5. In the AccessPanel, display the Layer Manager.

6. Select the text layer, and set the merge mode to Hard Light in the pull-down menu.

7. Resize and position your text as desired.

Tips:
If you'd like the watermark a little more visible, try a color value of 60% gray for the type (HSB value 0-0-60).
You are not restricted to using only text for this effect. Try importing a logo or symbol to use as a watermark.
The Windows keyboard shortcut for the copyright (©) symbol is Alt+0169 (use the numeric keypad to type the numbers).
If you use watermarks often, save the effect to The EasyPalette Object Library. You can still customize the text after adding it from the EasyPalette

Hope this helps out some of the designers :goodvibes

I like the idea of the watermark! I would love to still be able to see designs to get some ideas. Though I guess then you still will run into the problem of someone taking your ideas. Thanks to all the designers!

Thanks, Clare. I don't have near as many as Kate, but I think that is a good idea. Guess I've got a new project.
