Veggie Tales?!?! Oh man, now we have to eat there today. I miss having my sister working there to buy and send me all of the toys.

Our Chick Fil A's are great when it comes to the toys. One time we went up and said that we already had the book and they gave us all the books we didn't have. The last time we went as a family, Abi received the Kid's guide to what to do in FL...we all said "how'd the know" :goodvibes

Hi - We are going to Disney 2/15 & I am back making t-shirts. This time for my DB's children. I am on about page 148 of this thread & I am not finding many designs? Am I looking in the wrong place. Back in August there were many designs on the previous thread, & I thought this would be the place to look? Any advice please?

Of course I still need to read the rest of the pages to find the answers to how everyone is doing now. :rotfl2:
Midnight, if the post above me means it is your birthday. Happy, Happy Birthday. Your Tshirt is made, I just need to mail it. Bad Penny!!! :guilty:

Welcome back. Most of the designers have links under their names that will take you to their designs. We mostly chat on this thread but if you need something personalized or a new design you can post it here and also PM the designers. Kate (J&Nsmom) likes for you to PM her with request. Also there are several threads that have designs listed in them.

Anyway you are at the right place for your designs just post what you need and someone usually will help you out. I pesonally cannot create these beautiful works of art.

Tammi -- I am in PA now. DH brought his laptop and it took us over an hour to get hooked up to the free high speed internet. I know by now you have also left.

A quick update on my Mom... she was not certain who I was when we arrived. Her physical appearance has changed drastically since Christmas and she has a catheter. They are "messing with her meds" to try to make her more comfortable. She is on oxygen 24/7 now and it seems to be helping her breathe more easily.

Despite the unhappy beginning to the visit, by the end of our second visit today she seemed much more lucid. I am not kidding myself that she is going to be better, but she even remembered that she had not finished a conversation and took it up where we had left off about 10 minutes before.

Thanks again for all your thoughts, everyone.

Is it just me or does anyone else hate that the newer Disney DVDs (not the classic movies, but cartoons and Playhouse Disney ones) are "enhanced" with Disney's Fast Play. Hmm...Fast Play means we will automatically play a bunch of commercials for your and then start the movie. Or...you can push a few extra buttons and get to the movie in a few seconds, but it's more work for you. I think it's just because I always forget to push play for the 2nd time on both those and the Charlie Brown movies so Terra ends up having to remind me...luckily she has become patient with me on this issue and doesn't get upset anymore because I forgot.

Yes, it drives me crazy too. LOL

The best place to start looking for designs is in the sticky at the top of the Creative DISigns called The DIS Design Gallery. There are links to many of the designs right at the top on that page. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=892887

Then there are some other threads for specific designers including:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1012466
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=956574

This thread is great and has a couple of designs but is a lot of chatting and keeping up with each others lives.

Thanks I feel like so silly as this is our fourth and we should know what we're doing by now. But, the others just started sleeping through the night on their own when they turned 1. I figured this one would be the same as we did everything the same. :confused3 I forgot how unique they can all be.

So, how did DS do in your absence? Did you bring him home something from the new ride EE?

Matt did great in our absense - he had more fun with his grandad than he does with us!! But we didn't bring him anything from the gift shop at EE, we didn't spend too much time in there, we were more anxious to go try the ride again!!

Thanks for the links and the PM's. I found some great ideas.  :cheer2:

Thank you. Penny

Elin - sending you :grouphug: hope everything goes ok with your mum this weekend.

Thanks for everyone's kind words about the ceremony yesterday and the photos - it was fun getting the dress back on and the ceremony was nice too - I wrote it based on our original vows and tweaked it a bit - for the real wedding my DB read part of the apache wedding prayer - and yesterday I decided to read another bit of it to DH - which almost had me in tears! How embarrassing

MIL loved it though so I'm glad we did it - I felt bad that she missed out on seeing her DS get married just cos we chose to fly to DIsney.

Today I'm putting the dress back on for our party tonight with our friends - so I'll have worn it four times - the wedding - the MK portrait session - the vow renewal and the party! When you pay that much for a dress you gotta get your monies worth right?? :goodvibes

I won't be around later so don't go chatting too much ;)

Clare -- I hope you are having so much fun!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see more pictures, and yes - I'm insanely jealous! How awesome to be able to celebrate over and over again! Have a fantastic night! :goodvibes

Thanks for keeping it slow today! Kyle and I are off to roam around the mall like high schoolers  We are helping my parents out with a youth group function (a mall scavenger hunt), and we hold the key to bonus points if and when the groups find us! How cool are we?!

Talk to you all later! Hope your weekend is going well! :goodvibes

I hope everyone is doing well. Sending pixie dust :wizard: to everyone, it sounds like everyone can use it for some reason or another. I have been super busy since I have had training for my new job the last two weeks, plus I am still working my other job full time. I will continue to work full time at my old job and part time at my new job, since the new place was unable to offer me full time hours and I need to keep my benefits. Today is my day off so I am trying to catch up and get things done.

I am working 72 hours this coming week. 8 hours which is midnight to 8am the one night. it shall be interesting. The new job wanted me to work another midnight to 8am shift but I told them I couldn't. I hope to be around but have no idea if that will happen.

Plus I still have my Brownie troop that meets once a week. That I basically run by myself. Even though I have no kids. I don't think I will have the troop next year. The parents are just using it as a babysitting service or so it seems. They want no involvement whatsoever. It makes me :sad2:  that the parents don't even want to spend 2 hours for one night every eight weeks helping the troop. Once every two months, if one parent for every girl rotated to stay and help. But that wo hours is too much to ask.

Most of the girls have one parent who is a SAHM or SAHD. They have two parents with a deccent income. But they don't want to get involved in their kids lives. :sad2: I couldn't even get all of their parents to show up a half an hour early to watch their daughters at their investiture and rededication ceremony.

I know lots of people have much bigger problems, having to attend funerals, family members ill, unable to get medicaid, still smelling :smokin: days later. I have basically spent my day off running all over doing prep work for my Brownie troop and now I am sitting here filling out all the paperwork for upcoming trips. What a wonderful way to spend my day off.

The parents complain they don't have the time because they work. I am sorry but are you working 72 hours a week??? No you might work a few hours on the weekend and homeschool your kids during the week. Sending your kids to Grandmas's, their Dad's or an Aunt's every weekend while you work. Which makes all the time to plan a field trip on a Saturday a waste because than only 2 girls could go but no one told me until the Wednesday before the scheduled trip. Sorry to vent it just has me frustrated, no wonder the world is what it is.

Becky, here is a little pixie dust for you pixiedust: I gave up my troop in the girls second year of Juniors (end of 5th grade), because I was getting no parent involvement either. I also felt like a babysitter, but at least in my case, I had a daughter in the troop. The girls really just weren't interested in making a go of it either by that time. They wanted social hour. I wasn't wasting my time on social hour. If they didn't want to put anything into it, why should I bust my buns with the prepwork/paperwork. Anyway, this was supposed to be about you, not me. I think you are a real  to those girls!

As difficult as the days may be, remember that you are making a difference!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2 Here's some pixie dust to help you through the long hours. :wizard:

This was always the most difficult part of having troops for me. I tried to remind myself that obviously these girls needed someone who was involved with them. I had two loving parents who were involved with me growing up. However, my mother wasn't my Girl Scout leader. I remember Miss Weingarten to this day for all she taught me (and that was 30+ years ago). Imagine how the girls who don't have two loving parents at home must have been affected.

I only have 2 girls left in my Senior troop this year and we are working on their gold award (they are Juniors). At one point, I had a Brownie troop, Junior troop, Cadette troop and Senior troop (when my youngest was a Cadette and my oldest was a Senior). I was working full-time and travelling quite a bit for work. I understand your frustration with the parents that say they are too busy. I don't regret giving up the troops but I do honestly miss it many weeks. Instead, I am a counselor for two weeks in the summer at the Girl Scout camp and volunteer for area and council events. I feel like I'm able to make a difference just from a different level.

You are doing a great thing! The lessons that you are teaching them will remain with them. Remember you are making a difference in these girls lives whether they show you or not. :thumbsup2 Here's some pixie dust to get you through the long days. :wizard:

Edited: had to fix my grammar & spelling. Was in the midst of making dinner and hadn't reviewed before submitting.

I hope this does not offend anyone, I will remove it if it does. Hope you all find some humor in this :teeth:

Here is a chicken recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as a
stuffing - imagine that! When I found this recipe, I thought it was
perfect for people like me, who just are not sure how to tell when
poultry is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out.
Give this a try.

BAKED STUFFED CHICKEN

6-7 lb. baking chicken
1 cup melted butter
1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is good.)
1 cup uncooked popcorn
(ORVILLE REDENBACHERS LOW FAT) Salt/pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush chicken well with melted butter, salt,
and pepper.
Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn.

Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven.

Listen for the popping sounds.

When the chicken's *** blows the oven door open and the chicken flies
across the room, it is done.
